Droid X 2.3 update

Any word lately on when .596 will be sent out? I'm trying to decide whether to sbf back to froyo and get to a rooted .595 or stay on my stock .595.

Also, is it still ok to be on stock .595 and get the update? I know it's changed a few times in the last couple of days lol.
 
My inside sources say it will be tomorrow. Bank on it. Say this to yourself every morning and it will eventually be true. 100% guarantee. :)

On a serious note, with no intent to offend or be disrespectful: If someone has reliable information it will be posted. A post asking "is there any new news" is unlikely to prompt someone to offer some previously undisclosed update.

Let me tell you. There is this big fella who sits there with the power to push the "Send out OTA" button. He's gonna have to push that button before too long or the boss will get testy, but for now, he looks at these forums and just when you think that the update is gonna drop, he decides not to push the button that day. He has a big smile as he looks at the pitiful X fanatics groveling for the GB upgrade. :D:D

and then i point my finger at him and laugh because i've had GB for like a month already because somebody that works in the office next door to him leaked it (4 times lol) and stole his button pushing thunder :cool:
 
I went back to stock a few days back because I bought nova . it would not run on gb. then I tried mobile shell and love it. doesnt matter to me anymore. confirm as well netflix works perfectly. shit better than you tube. I think ill just wait out ota from here.
 
While we're all waiting for Verizon to do something does anyone know what the difference might be between .588 and .596? I've been running 2.3.3 for two days and am very happy with no issues. Regarding the camera glitch that affects "all gb" versions mine stays on whatever resolution I select so no issues there.

There is a noticeable difference in the way the systems operates (smooth) and gingerbread is definitely worth it.

impossible to say because nobody has gotten .596 yet...im running .595 and i guess it might be a little smoother than .588...no major changes though

Just an update. According to knowledgeable folks on my Twitter timeline, the DX2 isn't even releasing with GB out of the box. This would mean that the OG X would most certainly not get a bigger, better, OS than the new kid. Better just enjoy that leaked version you have and not get your hopes up anytime soon for 2.3.4. Then again, VZW changes its mind by the second. So who knows.

That's not what I heard........the DX2 is not coming with GB pre-loaded is what I heard......if that's the case, it's going to be a while before the DX sees GB.......I'm sure the DX2 will get GB before the DX does.

We probably should have gotten it back in March before the DX's EOL.....but VZW rejected it so many times that it got pushed even farther back......so it seems like the DX hasn't reached EOL because of that, but in my eyes the DX has already reached EOL.

P.S. I'm talking EOL software-wise, not warranty-wise.

just when we all thought there wasn't any more hope for a week or so. Either way i'm pretty sure there isn't much difference between .595 and .596

Maybe that guy can pass on the update.zip to P3Droid or someone who can do something with it :D

It's starting to look like these "accidents" are really done on purpose, aren't they......:p;):D
 
Somebody's gotta be effing with us. Every time you've just about had enough of this GB bs, BANG!, another crumb to get you going again!

yeah...im going to assume that TBH has already gotten in contact with the lucky fella and tried to get this so they can push it out as a "leak" :D
