Try removing the battery, then update your profile and see if that helps, and clear HTC sense cache, report back
Menu/Settings/Applications/manage applications/ wait for page to fully load, then click on HTC Sense and see if the cache is available to be cleared, if greyed out then it is ok

Don B. - i've rebooted the phone twice now. no change .

It's too bad they don't have some kind of information to tell you that the phone is processing. I'd thought it had locked up on me. But thankfully I wasn't impatient and gave it time... it eventually completed the reboot. Everything appears to be fine.
