Root [Kernel][GB] KoumaKernel 2.5

Is there a way I can remove my clockworkmod and everything so that my phone is completely stock and starting over? I just tried going back to the hroarkernel and I'm having the same issue. Could it maybe something with my sdcard? Or maybe my rom?

Figured it out. There seems to be an issue with partitioning 32gb sd cards. I switched back to my 16gb and it partitioned and mounted the sd-ext no problem.

Cool, I had a hunch that it had something to do with the size of the card. I just couldn't afford one to try it for myself :)

Yeah I read it on xda-developers. Appearently it's a common flaw when using a 32gd card. But I got it going, thanks for your help. Now to install BT5 and Ubuntu.:)

Does this kernel support adb on boot and have a fix for that LogMeIn Backdoor that Shabby found? I'm just curious as I'm trying to compare the kernels. Not exactly sure what to look for and or what the major differences is in terms of efficiency and security.

Go cm7 by Hroark. Its like a new phone for real. My quad scores are now 1600 instead of 600.

yeah but the CM7 is in extreme beta right now. There seems to be quite a few bugs and issues that people are having. I'd rather use it when it's slightly more stable.

Which is why I was asking for a comparison between this kernel and shabby.

Most if not all of the bugs are already fixed.

It should.
As for LogMeIn, so long as RescueStarter is not a running service, it's removed.
And the adbd service is started in the "on boot" section of init.rc. It is still controlled by the USB debugging setting, so it will get switched right back off if you have it disabled

Is there a way to confirm whether or not this took? things went a little too... smoothly for me.

check if /lib/modules/dhd.ko is exactly 270058 bytes

if the phone boots, and that file is that size, you're running it for sure.
though, you can pretty much trust CWM when it says that it was successful.
If you used Odin, and the phone boots, it's working.

yeah when I check it says the file is 263.73 KB so it's close but not exactly what size you're saying. Are they any actions or programs I could run that would only run on this kernel to troubleshoot it?

that's the right size, 270058 / 1024 = 263.728 round to 2 places, and it's 263.73 kB

Kouma mine is 305.81k but I now have a2sd installed and titanium is recognizing my ext4 so it had to have worked. Not complaining, just saw the post and thought it was weird that mine was so far off

Are there significant differances between this and what optimus just recently put up? I'm running his now and just finally got dta2sd up and going. (Mostly due to newb mistakes, lol) Wondering how far I should go with this set up...

Edit: Checked for IQ Agent under Running Services in settings to confirm install of CIQ removal but it is still there. Isn't this a valid quick check for CIQ removal and kernel install? dta2sd is running under original install of optimus's kernel and this one but IQ Agent running under both...

P.S. Edit again: What is the accurate size for dhd.ko under GB? I'm showing 279.3 KB with File Expert and I'm trying to figure out if I'm still on optimus's Kernel or if yours took. Thanks!

I do not know what the differences are I have not looked into it so someone else should answer that. I am wondering about IQ Agent though I have checked and I dont have it. The kernel I made does not have the service for it, however as we seen in the stock froyo the service is not the only call to IQ Agent. The framework.apk and other things turn it on that is why blooddawns nociq would not work with themes. The theme is in the framework as well.

on my phone looking at dhd.ko it shows as 305.81k

Hmmm... Well apparently I am not running either. Don't know how dta2sd working if that is the case. I will check back later for Kouma's response.

My dhd.ko is slightly smaller than Optimus'

Other than that, probably cosmetic init.rc and default.prop changes.

If you're already running Optimus' there's no need to change really. I put this together as my own personal baseline to start from and thought I'd share
