LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

Can you think of a single example from anywhere throughout modern commerce history where two companies embraced, without a merger, that did anything good directly whatsoever for the consumer and not resulting in either criminal prosecutions or criminal actions claimed by the public for collusion and price fixing?

Do you believe that the engineers from both companies would rather sing kumbaya and design for the utopian good, or do you understand that that they're every bit as competitive as their masters?

Please define "keeping the competition to a balanced level" that doesn't involve socialist or communist market control or illegal activities or the economic ruin of an industry - because I have yet to understand what you're talking about and you've brought this up often before.

And my final thought - when a bully comes up to steal from me or lay down threats, I meet the situation head-on with as much overwhelming force as I can.

I know a lot of people don't believe in that and think that the bully and I ought to get along because, surely, good and evil don't exist.

Victims on the other hand have no trouble understanding that they're being mugged, and no, let's not all get harmoniously along, and no, the bully and the victim are not the same.

That's just my opinion, take it or leave it.

Meanwhile, here's a fact -

Number of legal actions taken by the Android side NOT in direct response to an Apple legal attack: zero.

None.

Nada.

I hope I die before bully = victim ever becomes reality.

I want no part of that.

Again, that's just my opinion, take it or leave it.
Maybe embrace in the sense of being open and interactive to one another but at the same time competitive to each other with their own featured innovation and true marketing strategic. Just being true to itself, rather than being "silly ", of course for both parties

But.... i do get that reality hits us in our face. One can only wish, tho...

FRENEMIES?....................😍:puke:

Congrats! I'd love to hear your thoughts as you get acclimated. I'm still eye balling the hk sprint version, and love my m7

I'm pretty impressed so far. It has the most premium feel in hand of any android phone I've owned... first phone I've had that rivals my iPhone. Power button is in a really awkward spot. Love, love, love the speakers. Screen is super bright and is usable outside in the sun.

It's not perfect but it fits my needs. I think it's a keeper for me but need more time to put it through it's paces.

I still lust after the bezels of the G3. If the the G2 had a SD slot I may have just gotten that (played with again in store today).

If you're into rooting, and already have good headphones, you can save the $30 and just flash the HK firmware and software.

If you need headphones then $30 is a bargain for the HK set that comes with it.

Plus, only the HK is two tone, gold front, black back.

When did quick controls go away???????

I've been using the old android browser... can't believe they left that feature out of chrome.

I'm not a rooter, but I do like the clarify sound concept. I could live without the gold speaker grills

Looked at the casualty reports this morning and we lost another one to the M8. We could be down to Squad size. The only good thing is that those of us who are left are willing to go to the end. If I am the last one here, where is the light switch I am supposed to turn off? Maybe I can use my Quick Remote and turn it off.

Looks as if LG is taking the same path as SAMSUNG & releasing an 805 powered G3 "PRIME" for their home market only:

LG-F460l is indeed a LG G3,Confirmed in Leaked document.

Deleted article reference sentence, since Kolio mentions already- misread K's post the first time.

IMO, the Android devices as an aggregate will lose the 2014 battle (the war is ongoing) later this year by the new iPhones. They are going to sell crazy big and ditto for their massive enterprise accounts. The very accounts that Samsung tried to get but failed with Knox and locking down their devices.

LG and Samsung should release the "Primes" in the US in late August to combat the looming onslaught. 16GB devices ain't gonna cut it anymore. Even Apple is mainly abandoning that size now.

Added: Looking forward to the G4 64GB (with micro sd) and an 810 :) ;)

I don't know about that, but they are quickly loosing me. I used to feel the opposite, but now I hope Apple buries both of them big time!

Samsung Galaxy S5 review | PC Pro

I don't even know what to do with this anymore. This says that the G3 gets to 467cd/m2 (whatever that means) but the screen is dim. The same reviewer found the Galaxy S5 to be 364cd/m2 but very bright.

My working hypothesis is that when cool enough, the screen is very bright, but as it gets hot the phone throttles brightness down. This would explain how some people say it's great in sunlight (probably not hot yet), and some say it's too dim. That said, I can live with that. It's truly down to the 16gb storage issue for me. Hanging on by a thread.

Phonearena updated G3 battery test and admitted they had error in the first G3 battery test. Seems not a good news for G3.

Correction: new battery life results of G3 and S5
While not GREAT news, I don't see this as bad news. With a removable battery, it's a non-issue.

Plus, it seems only marginally worse than the G2, which everyone raves about battery life.

Phonearena battery test results

LG G2 6;48hours. 5.2 FHD 3000mAh .
LG G3 6:14hours. 5.5 QHD 3000mAh

I just want to get the phone and be done with it already. Since the mid-late July timeframe is looking more likely, I'm focused on the smartwatches I'll be swooping up form Best Buy, on day 1. Getting the G Watch as soon as it's available and the Moto 360, once that's available at Best Buy.
