LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

While not GREAT news, I don't see this as bad news. With a removable battery, it's a non-issue.

Plus, it seems only marginally worse than the G2, which everyone raves about battery life.

Phonearena battery test results

LG G2 6;48hours. 5.2 FHD 3000mAh .
LG G3 6:14hours. 5.5 QHD 3000mAh

It's not bad result for a phone with 5.5" QHD. But they haven't updated G2 battery test after KitKat update. GSMarena did it and G2 battery life got about 20% better than with JB.

I just want to get the phone and be done with it already. Since the mid-late July timeframe is looking more likely, I'm focused on the smartwatches I'll be swooping up form Best Buy, on day 1. Getting the G Watch as soon as it's available and the Moto 360, once that's available at Best Buy.

I think I'm done lol. It's like LG/carriers are wasting time getting our money. Plus, I have this feeling we are going to be stuck with the 2/16. Lol I'm already over this phone and we haven't even held it yet. Right now I'm thinking about getting that moto 360 and sticking to a stock android phone....especially seeing how gorgeous the next version of android is.

"Best android ever!" "Highest score ever given!" "Run out to buy this as soon as your carrier gets the phone!"

This guy goes ApeCrazy over this phone. He loved the M8, but he says the G3 is better. It has great battery life, which was a concern of his. He says battery life is on par (or better than) the m8? Bon Apetit, all you G3 lovers.

Don't interfere.

The thread slowely but surely becomes about M8. :p

LG G3 Review: Battery Life, Call Quality and Verdict

Very balanced review. Great camera, especially low light. Good battery, not great, but a full day in heavy use. Bright enough for sunlight, although not quite as bright as the brightest out there.

I'm sold. Give me 32gb or give me death (of my wanting the G3)

QFT & the removable battery/expandable storage.
Otherwise,I wouldn't give this phone as much of a look.

Honestly,I was wanting the G-PRO2 w/the abovementioned & an even larger screen (5.9").

I guess the Western Hemisphere won't be getting this after all.........:(

Stuff's Comparison

Stuff.tv's comparison of the the M8 v. G3 has the G3 on top but not by much. I'm seriously both of these, so I found this. He was careful to laud the M8 but put the G3 on the top, not because of the qHD but because of the removable battery/back cover and "fantastic camera".

Hi - I'm here to hijack the thread - I have an M8 - the best phone in the history of phones. It even showers me in the morning. Top that G3. . .

OK - history. I had (and really loved) a G2. I jumped on the M8 a couple days after it came out. I stream A LOT of music. The sound on that this is excellent. It could have been called the HTC Bezel. I would much rather have screen than bezel. Having said that - I don't know that I would ever go back to a phone that does not have front-facing speakers. The speakers don't add much size. Did I say that it's all bezel?

I'm on my 2nd M8. I had a SGS4 before the G2. been with T-Mobile since last July - and this phone give me the most reception issues at work of the 3.

I will say - uncased, the M* is gorgeous. And HTC does give you 6 months to break the screen and swap the phone. I did drop the G2 - cost me $150 deductible.

I almost wet my pants - I say 1 rumor that the G3 was going to have front-facing speakers (and not a 5" bezel). I was like - this could be "the perfect phone" at least until the next new phone comes out.

Bottom line - they re both flagship devises. Just depends on personal preference. Whichever way you go - ENJOY!!

We'll see if the LG Vista for Verizon ends up being the G Pro 2 and if it's an exclusive to them.

I'm tempted to just pull the trigger on the M8 and be done with it.
And miss out on all this fun?

Seriously, you waited this long, we're likely a week away from glorious disclosure. The water torture will stop. Hang in there one more week, and if there is no more information by next Friday, I'll buy an m8 with you. Maybe get a bulk discount.

Yeah, well for one I can miss a day and not have to spend the next one reading posts just to catch up.

I'm still on board for this phone. It's beautiful, it has a great camera, huge screen, and features that sound interesting to me. The only variable is reception. If this doesn't pan out, I will probably wait for the Moto X+1 to make my decision.

Maybe I should get involved in the iPhone 6 furor, just to experience some that Gnex excitement, once more. :p

True! The Gnex has awful radio reception :) ;)

Really bad.

Rush, it's funny you say that. When I was in the supermarket with my Droid X, I could get reception everywhere in it. Now? I can't get reception with my Gnex in the freezer section and back by the deli.

I am doomed either way. If correct about the 2/16, will be shunned as a harbinger of bad news and if wrong, an insufferable troll :)

Nah, not a troll.. As a matter of fact, it doesn't really matter either way because a lot of the enthusiasm for this device has waned over the past month. It kinda just another phone. Had it had the Snapdragon 805? and if it came with 3/32? It would have autoMATically be SEEN as the phone of the year (whether it actually was or not.)

This phone is not reeeeeeallly a game changer to me. Only the thin bezels and maaaaaaybe the screeen make it so, but maybe not so much.

Agreed. LG had a great opportunity to hit it out of the park.... they still may have. However, in the end, I found/find the lack of consistency on reviews concerning.

For every couple reviews loving it... we get one of these:
