LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

The Verge has a list out for the best smartphone you can buy. Number one is iPhone 5S and two is the M8. There are others but no mention of the G2, which makes their list invalid, in my eyes.

Yeah, the T-Mobile beta model a day giveaway through the end of June was pretty much a tell all. Oh well, more time to save pennies and see what else comes into the picture.

Speaking of, haven't seen/heard about any winners/etc....
Not even a peep from T-MO NEWS, other than the initial announcement of the G3 on 5/27/14....

Hmm, July 17th, @ $199. I was hoping for end of this month, but it is VZW after all. Can I wait a month and a week? Yes, yes I think I can.

I've been hoping that T-Mobile will announce an availability date at their Uncarrier 5.0 event on 6/18/14.

Ruh roh! If $200, that would suggest the big red monster is going all bling-a-ding with a 2/16. Word for the cynics in the room- Hey!

Added: My crow might turn into some herb roasted chicken! Mmmmmm :) ;)

Not wanting to be correct though, so the chicken would not taste as good as it should.

Edit: VZW did not say $200 and is speculated by the article "source". Crow back on the menu?

I remember you talking about this. This is like the ultimate device you've been waiting for. I love the concept but I just hope other OEMS will jump on that as well.

Yup. I would not mind if other OEM's jump on board with developing this type of concept. Samsung and LG are the only OEM's (so far) I've seen, that have shown having flexible screen technology, but it would benefit all the consumers if that were a technology that isn't patented and could be widely conceptualized.

Here is a thread with expression of people that have won and have had the device.

If you received your G3, share your impressions here - xda-developers

Subjective partial summary from that long thread:

Folks that say they have one mainly like it. Good camera, feel in hand, build and display is nice, but not big diff from 1080p. The bad is lag issues and battery life an issue for heavier users. Folks note that 1080p would be better fit.

The funny thing is some folks that do not have the device are refuting those that do and are rationalizing for issues noted as "first batch" issues that will be corrected.

Point being here: Funny how people that do not have a device can imply the higher ground of perspective. New device pixie dust for some is powerful- even with no device :)

Note:

Kudos that folks that have the device in the thread appear to not be impaired by new device pixie dust.
