LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

David Pierce, Verge writer, just listed a bunch of phones that are the "best". The Iphone 5S came in first and the LG G2 wasn't even mentioned, nor was the G3 ( the article did say "that you can buy"). Wow! I am used to bias from National News outlets, but this is really something.

Ohhh sorry, here is another.

Rush, you're killing me with all the "VZW 2/16" stuff. Man, give it a rest until they announce, would ya? ;)

exactly. what a buzz kill... I wouldn't buy a 16gb model regardless of the memory slot. These carriers should announce their stock spec intentions. This is pissing me off.

That's The Verge, right there.

I'm rolling an idea around in head...

If A=B and B=C, then A=C.

Explanation:

If Big Red only carries the 2/16, it would be an inferior phone to the S5 for me.
I want more spec than the S5, so I wait for note 4.

I can't root the Note 4. So, I might as well just wait for the iPhone 6 Phablet, since the reason I use Android to begin with is to root it.

I'm checkmated. A = C.

Shut up and let me over-react, okay?

There is a solution. Jump the wagon to pink big carrier, and they pay you to jump :). Then you get exclusive!!!

Hey, transitive properties have no place in a speculation thread. :D

I have a theory on this, based on how LG pushed the G3 release sooner than previous years. The G2 was released in September 2013 and the G3 has already been released in Korea and is rumored for a July release in the US. That's only 10 months apart.

The G Pro 2 carried the model F350 and was released February 2014.
LG G Pro 2 - Full phone specifications

Maybe the F460L is a G Pro 3 and is being targeted for a December release, which would put it in a similar 10 month window (like the G2 to the G3).

And, what has been kinda swept under the rug is the fact that a few US carriers will be releasing the G Pro 2 lite

LG G pro 2 lite (LG-VS880) for Verizon Wireless Approved By The FCC, 5.7 inch display,3200 mAh battery

So, it all would make sense to me if LG were to offer a 5.5, 5.7, and 5.9 (G Pro 2 and G Pro 3), with the 5.5 G3 and 5.9 G Pro 3 being their offset flagships, similar to Samsung GS5 and Note 4 (of course, Samsung also has the Galaxy F coming up to add to all of this).

Considering what LG has done with the G3, I'm definitely paying close attention to what they do for a follow-up to the G Pro 2 (and if it's made available around the world, not just Korea). If they could make a G Pro 3 that was similar in size to the Note 3 (if not smaller) and still stick in a 5.9 or even 6.0 inch screen, I might just ditch my Note 3 for that, despite the fact that I'd be giving up on S-pen technology.

Call me crazy, but I think Big Red is going to drop the hammer on this one. They specified a nice G2 with wireless charging, 2/32 and re-designed back buttons. They are going to give us a great G3. Relax.

Not sure if it's the same for Sprint, but the sweepstakes dates give me more theories on Sprint's release date. I'd say that the Jully 25 date on Sprint's LG G3 page is pretty solid, for their release, and here are my reasons:
http://www.sprint.com/landings/lg_g3/index.html?ECID=vanity:lgg3
1) The 3rd drawing for their G3 sweepstakes ends on July 11, so there's no way I can see the "official" release, until after all 3 sweepstakes have completed.
2) If the sweepstakes ends on the 11th, that's exactly 2 weeks prior to the 25th and a typical window for "pre-orders."
3) Sprint has historically released their High-end devices on Fridays (w/ certain "early" pre-order releases on Wednesdays, prior to the general release). July 25 just happens to be a Friday.

All that said, I actually don't mind that. If the G Watch is released after Google I/O (end of June), then I can have some time to recover the costs, prior to purchasing the G3.

So everyone here is going to get the phone? It'll be pretty sad say goodbye at this thread once it's released.

I guess we'll see yall in the forum development

Noticed that yesterday EM posted at around 3 pm, 9pm, and at 3 am. There are 3 possibilities:

1. He drinks real coffee, not decaf

2. He is a vampire

3. There is no EM. It is a bot.

Huh... you know? I've often wondered the same thing, but was afraid to articulate my feelings because:

If #2 is the case, my life is in danger. If #3 is the case, I'd get banned.

The history of speculation threads is that they get closed once the phone releases to all carriers. It's been sad, but the relationships can be maintained in the threads, specifically the root section or (and most enjoyably) in the the Lounge. We have a blast there. In a way, the speculation threads are mini lounges. Why not go to the big lounge and have some real fun. Guess who's below you? What's the first word that comes to mind? If you really want to live dangerously, there's always Politics and Current Affairs. :)

Give me a break.

You call that overreacting?

You can do far better than that. Sheesh.

Sigh.

Steven58 is our AI upgrade from Steven57.

OfTheDamned is the vampire.

I live on a suborbital platform and no, I don't sleep actually.

I only and always drink real coffee as a chaser for espresso.

I drink an espresso roughly every hour or so.
