LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

Me either.

That's a whole lot of speculation on very little actual information.

Here is my very anecdotal and highly speculative rationale:

1. Tmo so far is the only carrier touting the 3/32. If some other carriers are releasing lower spec models, that would explain the lack of word yet from them. They would wait closer to release.

2. Chatter continues to grow about Tmo having a premium model over other carriers. The 3/32 is apparently the premium model.

3. A Best Buy manager dude I know that does their cell phone training for the area and works with carrier reps mentioned Tmo had at least temporary exclusivity with the 3/32. His accuracy rate is only 50%, but corroborates with item 1 and 2.

Not too longish to find out.

This guy I know? He told said he heard something from this other guy, who heard something from the internet, who heard something from verizon who heard something from this guy who works at best buy. Steven58 quoted it as truth. Sound familiar, Early?

I implied no absolute knowledge, nor presumed as such. The Best Buy dude was right about the 32gb for the S4 (ATT had short term exclusivity) and the S5 (there would be no 32gb). He gets his info from their retail reps. Sometimes right and sometimes wrong. He seemed confident on this one, so we shall see. This IS a G3 Speculation thread, so excuuuuuuuse me! ;)

The fun thing about the rumor threads is we all toss out our ideas and opinions and educated guesses.

With enough of them, someone is going to get the bragging rights for being right.

The rest of us will have to tip our hats. :)

Anyway, I enjoy the company and conversation.

Reminds me of the evo days, right EM?

We're rated a plus and we're included with the phone!! :D

Just came home from San Francisco Opera House, La Traviata.

As you know, there is chorus of the Gypsy fortune tellers in the middle of the second act.

This time they sang that every US carrier will have G3 3/32 available - eventually.

Don't know how much can I trust Gypsy fortune tellers though :D

If the rumors about 3/32 model being exclusive to T-Mo, at least temporarily, are true, T-Mo could add the insult to the injury by selling 3/32 model for the same price other carriers sell 2/16:rolleyes:

Would be good for attracting new customers:o

I can dream, can't I? :D

Tell ya what.

Gonna get G3 so it'll be waiting for me when I return home.

If there is G Pro 3 and I convince myself that I want it, I'll sell my G3.

I live for today. Tomorrow..who knows what happens tomorrow?
Maybe we'll be dropping nukes on someone, and someone will try to drop nukes on us. Then we'll have more important things to discuss.

Maybe Samsung will now release an EMP Pulse resistant Galaxy phone!!

One of my favorite release stories was the one I traced about 3 or 4 years ago.

Someone made something up, someone else quoted them, and after six more iterations, the first idiot "reporter" quoted the seventh as astonishing proof that his suspicion from a few days earlier was the truth. You could click the source links starting at the last one and work backwards to see the circle.

What was more astonishing were people's reactions when it turned out to be false - it wasn't all made up, the company cheated them somehow.

I'm reminded of what Abe Lincoln said - No matter how many times something is repeated on the Internet, the actual number of reports is no greater than the number of first sources.

Very possible. They might accrue more marketing spend and eat some revenue since expecting to be purchased by Sprint- SoftBank. ;)

That sounds very weak for a brand name. Looks weak too. Looks soft- real soft.

The One is a bezel monster in comparison.

As far as the BMs, this pretty much correlates to what we have been seeing. The GPU is not the best fit for the device, but if you do not mainly game on the device, it should mainly be no harm no foul.

The biggie will be web browsing, since that is done by a lot of folks and heavy usage weight. I have only seen three reviews/previews showing web battery life, but all show a margin of at least two hours less than comparable 1080p devices. The G2 was in at least one test I recall and was over two hours.

If the game stays scaled at FHD it'll be no problem. Also if the game is not fully optimized well it'll not run that smoothly regardless of resolution. Ofc the 801 will need to push some more pixels but at least we can say that the chip is capable of doing that to say the least.

Either if they bring about more Optimization on software just like apple does, then the phone would perform much more fluids with its huge specs. But that takes a lot of work...

Do you remember who were the violetta, Alfredo and germont?

The issue seems maybe perhaps possibly to be systemic though. I wonder if LG has applied due diligence in assuring the device scales as needed in relation to the app's native res?

Desktop web pages are all over the place, but the trend is beyond 1080p now. This would suggest some web pages could use a lot more relative battery. Apple does all the trickery on their end to make stuff smooth. The Air makes my Note 2014 with similar high res seem one generation behind. That is with Flash off when comparing.

Ditto for the Asus T701.

How about adjusting dpi?
