LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

Looks like a fake, but probably rooted in truth. If anything like that exists before I can snag a G3, that would be pretty compelling.

I think it might possibly be real and a Samsung counter to the two new iPhones coming out that will already trump the S5 in specs. Heck, as far as chips, the A7 trumps the 800/801 already.

That, or the device is Asia only. Happens a lot.

But 810 will blow a7 and even Tegra 1k

I don't get that 'Asia only' strategy. The developent costs are sunk, and it has to be pretty cheap to adapt to US/EU networks. Wouldn't you want to sell to as many customers as want it? Build brand recognition? Not resentment?

I'm sure there are more sophisticated marketing minds at play here, but to this CONSUMER, it just doesn't make sense.

I AM driving myself nuts with this G3 thing. I can't believe I might have to wait another 4 weeks to only be disappointed with a 2/16.

Lol, so frustrating. Apparently the LG gets SO bright, it hurts the brain.

"The G3’s display brightness levels are slightly absurd. If you’re often outside, or usually take a window seat on the bus ride home, you’ll appreciate being able to actually see the phone in direct sunlight. However, the screen’s maximum lumens can be migraine-inducing indoors. Even worse, the lowest brightness setting is still a little too bright for me when reading ebooks before bed."

The Asia strategy is simple - lots more consumers and different playing fields for import/export tariffs and lower marketing costs. And no carrier nonsense to deal with.

You'd be crazy to not pick the low hanging fruit first.

Asian sales are paying for the FCC fees. Just one example right there.

Other reviewers are claiming poor sunlight performance.

I say again, no one is really reviewing final units.

Take it or leave it but that's what we really know. :) ;)
Yea I know. From one reviewer I practically saw the phones capable to be seen on sunlight. And as you said, we haven't taken to account that the software hasn't still been polished at least for us variant. And all that could rather be altered with some modification in system.

Asia and also Europe though gets some of the devices since the retail channels there are more warehouse retail centric, where NA is much more carrier retail centric.

A warehouse centric system tends to result in a push of products to warehouses (the G3 though is having retail interest issues in Europe), but a carrier centric system is pull driven by the carriers. End result for channels is most devices happen only if the carriers buyers order them from manufacturers (along with channel partners).

Added: Based on input in the thread, seems a lot more than me here would lose interest IF a 3/32 is not offered by respective carriers.
