Give me a break.

You call that overreacting?

You can do far better than that. Sheesh.

Sigh.

Steven58 is our AI upgrade from Steven57.

OfTheDamned is the vampire.

I live on a suborbital platform and no, I don't sleep actually.

I only and always drink real coffee as a chaser for espresso.

I drink an espresso roughly every hour or so.

wow.

I also drink espresso every hour or so.

Good thing nobody bothers to check my posting schedule :D

So everyone here is going to get the phone? It'll be pretty sad say goodbye at this thread once it's released.

I guess we'll see yall in the forum development
If sprint has the 3/32 and the S5 Prime information doesn't come out before I can buy the G3, I'm probably all in. Even the circle case.

No 3/32, no deal. And late July gives me a lot of time to get distracted. The upgrade is literally burning a hole in my pockets right now, but it had to last me 2 years so I won't get just anything.

The history of speculation threads is that they get closed once the phone releases to all carriers. It's been sad, but the relationships can be maintained in the threads, specifically the root section or (and most enjoyably) in the the Lounge. We have a blast there. In a way, the speculation threads are mini lounges. Why not go to the big lounge and have some real fun. Guess who's below you? What's the first word that comes to mind? If you really want to live dangerously, there's always Politics and Current Affairs. :)

Problem is, some people will go away.

Lovers of M8, you know.Especially lovers of the red ones :D

..and those who will be able to buy only 2/16 phones from their carriers :p

I have a theory on this, based on how LG pushed the G3 release sooner than previous years. The G2 was released in September 2013 and the G3 has already been released in Korea and is rumored for a July release in the US. That's only 10 months apart.

The G Pro 2 carried the model F350 and was released February 2014.
LG G Pro 2 - Full phone specifications

Maybe the F460L is a G Pro 3 and is being targeted for a December release, which would put it in a similar 10 month window (like the G2 to the G3).

And, what has been kinda swept under the rug is the fact that a few US carriers will be releasing the G Pro 2 lite

LG G pro 2 lite (LG-VS880) for Verizon Wireless Approved By The FCC, 5.7 inch display,3200 mAh battery

So, it all would make sense to me if LG were to offer a 5.5, 5.7, and 5.9 (G Pro 2 and G Pro 3), with the 5.5 G3 and 5.9 G Pro 3 being their offset flagships, similar to Samsung GS5 and Note 4 (of course, Samsung also has the Galaxy F coming up to add to all of this).

Considering what LG has done with the G3, I'm definitely paying close attention to what they do for a follow-up to the G Pro 2 (and if it's made available around the world, not just Korea). If they could make a G Pro 3 that was similar in size to the Note 3 (if not smaller) and still stick in a 5.9 or even 6.0 inch screen, I might just ditch my Note 3 for that, despite the fact that I'd be giving up on S-pen technology.

Tell ya what.

Gonna get G3 so it'll be waiting for me when I return home.

If there is G Pro 3 and I convince myself that I want it, I'll sell my G3.

I live for today. Tomorrow..who knows what happens tomorrow?
Maybe we'll be dropping nukes on someone, and someone will try to drop nukes on us. Then we'll have more important things to discuss.

But..friends don't let friends buy red M8s :D

IBT said the m8 for big red has connectivity issues. That killed it for me because I use the phone for actual calls (business). So? I wait for my next unrootable phone.

Meanwhile, I just flashed a custom kernel on my aokp KK for gnex. I'm going to be one unhappy puppy with a unrootable phone.

LG G3 Clears Another Hurdle for U.S. Release

"T-Mobile might have an exclusive on a premium (3/32) LG G3 in the United States" :p

Although I don't believe it. :)

Best Buy manager dude was right then? Wonder if by "premium" they mean 3/32? The difference is the 3/32 also has a higher clock rate than the 2/16. Me thinks premium = 3/32

I sense Best Buy dude is on to something after all...... Fits, since I still see VZW if only selling one model to only sell a 2/16. They could sell at $200 contract at launch.

Added:

Oh, Sorry hilmar2k! ;) Seriously though :( IF correct.

I'm getting bummed again. I got past the not being water proof. I talked myself past the potential battery issues. I even decided I could live with less than great visibility in sunlight. If they take away my 3/32, I have to bail just on principle. Or switch to t mobile. Pretty effective marketing campaign, come to think of it. Been with sprint for over 20 years and I would actually consider moving.

Like i said, I've been w/Sprint for 15 years.

Left with my 5 lines for T-Mo and never looked back.

T-Mo is cool.

I'm with you on that one. 3/32 or get lost. Then I'll have to see what moto is doing.

Wow 20 years is a long time. I only been with Sprint for 4. My worry about T-Mobile is the coverage outside cities. I basically work in a small town just outside NYC.

They have no-plan service. Try it for a week w/cheap phone
from ebay or something, if you don't like the coverage, just cancel the service, I believe they won't even charge you for 1 month if you cancel
in the first 14 days.

Not sure how much in common the displays of the G3 & M8 share,as to visibility in sunlight/outdoors, but, if the G3 is anywhere near the M8's visibility, you can check that concern at the door.

Had the full sun at my back & w/the M8's brightness cranked up all the way earlier this evening, it was just fine, colors & print were very distinct.
I'm guessing the G3 will be O-TAY.

Hello All! I have been a long time lurker and have enjoyed the conversation in this thread immensely. I currently have a Sprint Galaxy S3 32gb that continues to perform admirably but am looking to possibly upgrade to the LG G3.

I noticed some of you have switched from Sprint to T-Mobile and would like to get your opinions on T-Mobile Service in the Central Kentucky area. Mainly in the Lexington to Louisville areas and up to Cincinnati. T-Mobile maps say there is 4G coverage but so does Sprint.

As you know, Sprint data can be just ok at times and horrific at other times. I really like what T-Mobile is doing and would like to give them a try but am concerned with coverage and data quality. I have yet to find someone in my area that currently has a smart phone on T-Mobile.

Thanks for any and all input...you all are awesome!!!

Heya Jeff,

Welcome to the madness and shame on you for waiting so long to join in! :p

My daughter went to UK. She said the only good service was big red, there.

Steven

T-Mo is cool.

If their coverage in Kentucky and Ohio were not bad to awful, I would bail too..... Well, that and my chain known as unlimited data on two lines.

Added:

I am in central KY too. Tmo has signal gaps even for phone calls in a lot of areas. Ditto for Ohio. Sprint is even worse. ATT is better, but the big red monster rules by a huge margin.

Based on reviews so far, the G3 is noticeably dimmer and not too good in sun light. About a month to see for self. Well, if the red monster does not go all 2/16 on us.

If no 3/32, my interest will go sixty to zero in 2/16th of a second ;) Really.

Thank you for the quick response. I really wish T-Mobile had better coverage here.

I don't know much about getting unlocked devices and such...but I might try to get an AT&T LG G3 to work on the Aio network. A friend in our IT department said Aio might fit my needs if I can figure out how to get the device I want to work on their network.

From what I have seen, they use At&t towers but are throttled to 8gb data speed. I thought that was funny because he said that like it was a negative thing. He obviously has not been on Sprint's network.

I have been with Sprint since 1998 when I graduated college. It was fine until I began needing a reliable data signal.

Anyway...thank you all again!

That is part of the reason I am hoping the merger gets approved. Sprint is the most reliable for coverage at my house, but everywhere else in LA, T-mobile seems to get more reliable signal. In ideal circumstances, my hope would be that a merger bridges the holes from both carriers.

Here's a G3 vs M8 screen comparison from PHONE ARENA:

LG G3 vs HTC One (M8)

G3's pixel density breaks records, but the One (M8) is more visible outdoors.

We said that the LG G3 is wider than the One (M8), but it makes up for it by sporting a noticeably larger screen. The G3 packs a 5.5" panel, while the One has a 5" display. LG one-upped every major phone manufacturer with the first Quad HD 1440x2560 pixels display, ensuring incredibly high pixel density. Even at 5.5", the G3 display still sports the record for a smartphone 538ppi. In comparison, the One (M8)'s 1080p panel has 441 ppi, but it is still looking fine and detailed.

The IPS-LCD displays of the G3 and the One (M8) aren't with the best color representation we've seen, but are far from the worse, too. The basic hues of the G3's screen are somewhat off-base and lean on the oversaturated side, especially the reds, for instance, while One (M8) does it predominantly with the greens, yet overall the G3 does does a bit better job in replicating the reference gamut. We measured the color temperature of the G3 to be 7357K, against the 7128K on the One (M8). Both are decent results, and close enough to the reference 6500K white point, so the screen colors don't appear overly cold.

The G3 display's outdoor visibility is worse than on the One (M8), as the handset has lower, 376 nits of peak brightness, against 490 on the HTC. You are still able to tell what's on the G3 screen outdoors, but not as comfortable as on the One (M8). The viewing angles are something we can easily observe without any measuring equipment, and they are stellar on both handsets.

Not sure how that nits stat (490 for the M8 vs 376 for the G3,higher number being better) is going to translate in real world use.
