Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/2015**

Kind of cute you don't get it sir, I have downloaded Nova Launcher Prime in the apk form but to get it to work i would have to uninstall the current Nova Launcher in the settings of the custom rom which i don't know how to do so i asked the creator got it? I have not paid for anything when i download an apk which is free for the same app

Lol, I believe Piracy is against the rules :p

If you already purchased nova from play store then all you have to do is just install your prime key. If you purchased nova directly from the nova website like I did, all you have to do is open nova app and enter your passkey and email.

If you have a pirated copy of nova, then this isn't the place to seek support for that. App piracy is not welcomed here. Refer to forum rules.

Going to read them right now to know what i can say or not this forum is pretty nice.

?? Does the rom save battery life on your F6? Also would it be able to save more battery life because, of removing bloatware?

Battery? Can't really give you an accurate answer to that. Not everyone uses their phone the same. I'm seeing better battery, but that may not be the case for you. I don't play games so generally I'm gonna have great battery no matter what. Battery life is probably this phone's best feature.

Yeah when i first got it with stock was amazing and generally don't play games either just music and Sound cloud a lot now thank you ! Hopefully you keep making roms and other things for the F6

First. I really like this ROM. I've never written any Script or any programs. So I am very appreciative of GT. I followed the directions, which were right on. The only thing that went wrong, (and it's not a hair pulling problem) I followed these steps.
Download the zips in the following steps and place them on your SD card.
Boot into cwm recovery.
Do a backup.
Wipe data/factory reset.
Install rom zip from SD.
After rom finishes installing the phone will reboot.
Once at the home screen reboot back into cwm recovery and flash Xsetup zip.
Now reboot the phone.
Update your apps through play store then reboot your phone. Done!

When I went into recovery, and selected backup. It started to backup, then errored out on me. So I had to reset my phone back to stock and start over. It happened again. So again reset. In short I just skipped this step. :) Went on and completed the install, and have had no problems at all... Thanks again GT.

Hey GameTheory,
I know you are getting annoyed with some of our requests. I guess everyone just wants to get the most out of their device. I hope that does not discourage you from putting more time on development for this device. Anyway all I wanted to say is thank you for putting so much time and effort and creating this awesome ROM and your freedom kernel. If it was not for you we would all be stuck on stock lol. So once again thank you!!!

GameTheory:

Thank you so much!!! Everything works silky smooth. I have two questions.

I have never messed with OC before because i didnt want to ruin my battery life. Does freedom kernel have any sort of app that goes with it allowing me to monitor performance? If not, what app do u recommend?

In your opinion, is it worth it for it for relative noobs like me to enable the exposed framework for gravity box? I did some research on it, and it seems cool, but i dont want my boots hanging and my bootup times bottoming out.

Again, u rock. Thank you!!!

Thanks ;)

I use SetCPU from playstore for kernel control.

I've been using xposed with gravitybox on the f6 with no issues and think it's great... Is it worth it? That's up to you whether it's features are of any value/use to you. It's easy to setup as well as un-install, and plenty of guides and videos on google/youtube for it should you need any.

GT. over in General, Tip, there is a thread
http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-f6/819792-proposal-theory-external-sd-storage-solution-f6.html
I Was wondering if this actually would work, whether or not it would be possible for you to include the lines of data in your Xperion Rom and release it, to avoid the storage problem on our F6's. After reading that thread, I would do it myself but I'm not knowledgeable enough in writing it. Hope this makes sense to you.

Thanks in advance.

I put this ROM on my F6 without any issues whatsoever.

Once Link2SD was put in place with my properly-partitioned 32Gb MicroSD card (30Gb FAT32, 2Gb ext4), everything went amazingly, surprisingly smoothly.

Once Link2SD was in, I started playing with Xperion's "system" apps in an effort to get the ROM to behave more stock-like, more like my N5.

For example: I installed the "stock" Android keyboard, switched from Xperion's LG one to the stock one, "un-system'd" the LG keyboard, "system'd" the stock one, then removed the LG one from the ROM altogether.

Same goes for the launchers - I installed the "GoogleHome.apk" Google Now Experience launcher - the one that ships with KitKat 4.4.2 now. With this as the default launcher, I un-system'd and uninstalled Nova Launcher.

Pretty much all apps save the critical system ones are now linked on the MicroSD second partition (/data/sdext2).

As a daily driver, compared with my Nexus 5, the only things I feel I'm missing are the Google Now integration and the panoramic photo capabilities. Performance is perceived as about equal, with my only concern being the F6's memory (1Gb) over my N5 (2Gb). Given that my N5 was US$350 and I got the F6 on sale for US$80, I feel like the F6 is an absolute STEAL once this ROM is put in place and the SD card configured.

All my thanks to GameTheory!

The Tread that I referred to deals with the 1.2gig of storage on the internal sd card. I too have the external sd card divided into 2 partitions. the ext4 is about 6gig. Thanks for the response. I have link2sd also, and it does help. but it does not change the fact that the 1.2gig of storage will eventually be used up. maybe not right away. but at some point.
The tread talks about avoiding that altogether.
That is the only issue that I don't care for on my LG optimus F6.

Hey GT, if I use the gravity box advanced reboot menu option can I reboot to recovery without causing a factory reset?

Gt, i try and download the rom but when it gets to about 420mb downloaded it fails is something wrong with the upload or it might just be my internet.

Downloads fine for me. I have it hosted on google drive which is very reliable. Sometimes it's good to restart your modem and router to refresh your internet connection.

@GameTheory
How do I use the recovery included in your rom(xrecovery touch)? It worked in a previous version. When I go into titanium backup it shows up on my list of apps but I can't seem to figure out how to use it.

Game Theory?
I asked this of you earlier, and am still wondering if this is a viable solution to the F6 storage.

Thanks again

That's what your looking for

If you are answering my question, then no that is not what o am referring to. I already use that. If you go and read the thread referred to they are talking about a work around by editing the ROM. I believe.
