Root MUIU - completely shocked!

The only reason I tried it was because I've been curious about a few ROMs for a while.

While flashing it, I quite enjoyed the text. Much more interesting than most ROMs (don't want to spoil it for anyone).

So let me start by saying how impressive the customization is. It doesn't even feel like android anymore. I feel like this is some sort of hybrid between android and apple ios. That being said, it might be a bit too iphoney for me.

But I really do think it shows the potential of android. And anyone thinking of flashing it should. Insane levels of customization. I can't believe it when you add a widget! Wow. I just thought I would share this with anyone who is on the verge of flashing muiu, it's worth it for the pure change done to android.

and on a side note, would it be possible for a developer to hack a Rom to send any credentials to an unknown source? Like the google account or something...

Yeah, I am growing quite fond of it. It's surprising how much has changed from stock android (almost as surprising as me misspelling every instance of MIUI as MUIU >.> ). And I haven't dug too deep into it either, but one of the menu options said something about a cube rotation or something... very interesting.

I've been trying but can't seem to get away from it.

About the only chance I might have is going to a GB version of it or CM / King.

If you go to menu and then launcher settings you can configure how it transitions between windows left and right. 3D cube is nice.

I really liked the MIUI launcher, the only reason I don't use the ROM is because I need my LP widgets and I don't want to use LP because then I would cover up the thing I like the most about MIUI.

Launcher Pro Plus my friend, has built in scrollable widgets for gmail, facebook, messaging, twitter, blah blah blah, eff sense lp has my back on gb.

Yeah, all other roms (Ive tried 8-9) all seem to look the same with exception of triva wall paper and an occasional icon theme.. Miui, thank god is an Iphone for the Android. More MIUI!!!!!

You might edit that....discussion of sites to get paid apps for free is strictly forbidden. Not scolding.. just watching out for ya

Some people think MIUI is just a ROM that looks like iOS. While that's true, it has a ton of features and customizations that makes iOS look like preschool fodder. iOS puts form way over function, but MIUI has more function than the typical Android custom ROM, and it values form to the extreme that Apple does.

It really is the best of both worlds, although I do wish that they didn't blatantly rip off of iOS's skin. iOS theming is not the end-all in good aesthetics.

Although I love MIUI, I wish they would come out with more stable releases. The GB-based ROM needs a lot of cleanup.

Thanks for the good summation. I didnt play with MIUI long enough to test out all the function. The clunky hideous (IMO) iphone look threw me off. I dont dig the giant colorful icons and such. Maybe I will give it another shot but this time take the time to change the icons and theme the way i like so i can actually stand to check out the function.

Im trying MIUI again damn it! Too many people love it for it to suck as bad as it looks when you first flash it.

I laughed hard when I read this, I guess I will also try it out again but I am going to wait for a slightly more stable GB release. I really don't like the iphone look but that can be changed.

EDIT: Does anyone know any free alternatives to the Sense/LP+ calendar widget?
