Root Odin (Return phone to Stock/Factory)

Also when I'm on stock ee13, if I connect to my wifi it picks up the OTA update to ee14, but even if I take that update, it still doesn't fix the service issue.

k cool found the problem and corrected it.Thanks so much for gingerbread on galaxy prevail it was exactly what I was looking for untill the next update that I know will be pretty crunk! So many thanks to the creators!

So I'm still having service issues, I contacted boost and they said "This is a known problem with people that are accepting the update" He had me go through and try manually programming different MSID numbers which made no difference. They were not able to help, they said they will have an "engineer" contact me to troubleshoot this more..

odin to stock ed13, all 3 tars

connect to wifi

ota to ee14., reboot, connect to wifi, ota to ej06

dont install any anything on the phone

try updating prl, etc, etc

after all this
check your settings - about phone

what is your baseband and hardware version?

if still not fixed

tell the engineer that it stopped working after ota update

The phone will take the ee14 ota update on wifi, but it won't take the ej06 ota update while on wifi. Still no call from the engineer so probably won't be until tomorrow. I already told them that I took the ota update and that's what caused it to stop working. *boggle*

Just tried it again, it does take the OTA ej06 from ee14 now, didn't work yesterday. Anyway it still isn't working.

Baseband version: S:M820.07 x.EJ06
Hardware version: M820.07

Updating PRL/Profile/etc doesn't work without service.

What was the issue that you discovered and how did you correct it? I have a friend who has this device and updated to Gingerbread today and he is also having the Market issue.

Nope, says "Mobile network not available."

Here's a question, after calling tech support again because I haven't heard from anyone. The guy was trying to get the hands free activation to start after doing a reset. It wasn't doing anything. I'm wondering if i'm missing a .apk or something that comes with the phone. like activate.apk or something? not sure maybe it deletes itself after it's already activated and that's why it's not in the stock odin image?

Go to settings, applications, manage, then select all tab. Scroll to download manager hit force stop, hit back button, scroll to google services framework hit force stop, then back button again, scroll to market hit force stop. Back out to home screen and try market again. Worked great for me

Forgot to quote but this is for dharvey's issue

i dont think your missing anything. the problem is more than likely on there end if u need 2 reactivate.. it just not picking up there service.

check if your info in the data profile area.
##3282# data profile area.
u should have your boost email, ips, etc, in there.

if its not. thats your problem.

try asking for your email from boost that they provided, & entering it yourself manually. that should kick that activation from there server to the phone faster...

its a boost email address they give u, not your own personal.

I have a question I did EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5. I have rooted gingerbread. I however do not have CWM5 when i go into recovery mode it says:
Android system recovery <3e>
Samsung Recovery Utils
- for BML -

At bottom it says:
E:PATH /data/update_success R
E:Upgate logfile does not exist
#MANUAL MODE#

Anybody know for certain how to get CWM5 going ? ? ?
I also have the google auth error.
I used odin I flashed it twice. First with just phone + pda.tar files than a second time with boot.tar
File

I Odined to the gingerbread update provided on here that has cwm and root already and it seems as though everything works but it wont let me download stuff from the market. Oh Yeah, Forgot to mention that i updated from the stock EE14 Froyo. any help at all would be awesome and greatly appreciated

I'm having this problem as well.

I had the same problems. I think that a factory reset will fix most of these. But, that is not what I did. I uninstalled the Market update and then went to settomgs / applications / manage applications and cleared data for market.

Also from applications ALL I cleared data for Google Services Framework. Then I rebooted.
You may notice some quirks at first but it will straighten itself out.

Use ODIN to flash Hroark's CWM 5 and you will probably have to also quickly flash the Stick.zip using CWM so that it does not revert back to the stock recovery.

just tried a factory reset and I still can't launch CWM, just puts me into the standard android recovery as described above

also, I'd try reinstalling CWM, but on the main CWM pages it describes a difference between installing for the first time and reinstalling/upgrading a previous install - and given that I've supposedly install CWM already (but its not working) I'm reluctant to chose the wrong method and create yet more problems...

I may be wrong but I think that the GB OTA overwrote your CWM. So you will have to use ODIN to install CWM 5 and quickly run Stick.zip after it is finished.

thanks for the suggestion. However, as I've just now run odin to install the GB w CWM, I don't think there has been any opportunity for an OTA update to run over overwrite anything.

Sorry, i did not do a good job of explaining that. I ran the same ODIN to get GB. I also did not have CWM after I did it. I had what I suppose is the stock recovery. So, I had to ODIN in CWM5 and ruj stick. It worked for me.

treat it like it's never been installed before

the other method is just easier and you have to be able to get into CWM for it to work
