Root Odin (Return phone to Stock/Factory)

I know that, i did that... my problem is I can not install apps from market or anything,,,,,, says no space........everything else is fine just cant install anything which makes it pointless
Sounds like you filled the system, which tells me the install did not go the way it was supposed to.

your better off using odin go back to ee14 stock. not rooted. Then use shabbymod .9 it will root and remove stock /system and add new /system

@Enzosdad

try these...

rfscache.zip
dt_a2sd_prevail.zip

install the rfscache.zip in cwm and reboot. that may be your download error. cm7 makes everything ext4 and odin doesn't fix cache.

then wipe data in cwm.

then mod/theme how you like and when you're all set up install the a2sd zip in cwm.

and always keep your backups. as many as you can.

Hey guys,

Is there anyway to revert a rooted phone back to stock without the use of a computer? I just got the update notification on my prevail and I have a rooted phone using the 1 click root method. I do not have access to a computer right now and I would like to revert my phone back to stock so I can upgrade to gingerbread. Is this possible?

If it is possible how would I go about doing this, if someone could give me instructions it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for any help, guidance, or advice.

Erick

there is no way at this time to return to stock without the use of Odin

Is there a USB driver that works for this phone? I cannot connect via USB and cannot revert my phone back to stock if Odin cannot see my phone.

describe in detail exactly what you are trying to do, and every step you have taken to do it, do not leave out any information

Thanks for your hard work, unfortunately after I installed the
EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 using the ODIN I cannot install any of the apps I paid for that needs root access, no tether, not titanium backup, etc... any advice?

I heard this is related to the /cache partition being formatted as ext4 when froyo was running. look around for the cachefs fix. i can;t remember where I saw it and who posted it originally

I had that same issue. What fixed it for me: I used link2sd's menu, hit "more" then "recreate mount script." It asked what type partition, which I selected "ext2" (check whichever type you used, whether ext2, ext3, or ext4). It then popped up a window that said to reboot. Rebooted (if that message pops up after reboot, it said to redo the operation). Once it rebooted without any error, all was working right. Hope this helps.

Once you have the correct driver for your computer (Windows driver: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12826399/SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_x86.exe), set USB debugging on the phone (Settings > Applications > Development, put a checkmark in the Debugging Mode box), and turn on USB Mass Storage (Settings > Wireless & Networks > USB Connection). The phone must be in Mass Storage mode AND debugging mode, or the computer will not recognize the storage device at all for whatever stupid reason. Once the process starts, it shouldn't have any problem rebooting the phone and all.

Re-Did The Odin Images I Previously Made Due To Reading Some Users Having Some Issues With It & Having To Manually Do This. So I Figured It Should Be Redone If Causing Issues.

Decided To Basically Go Back From Stock ED13 On Up To GB.
ED13, EE14, To EJ06, CWM5 With Stick RfsCache, & Then Rooted..

Tested This One For A Few Weeks.

Old Link From 1st Post May Have Been Removed Due To Replacing The Old Odin File With New One.

Sorry For Inconvenience This May Have Cause Users Trying To Download Via 1st Post..

Thanks Chin. I was one of those having trouble, and I will certainly try it out. It'd sounds like a great time saver.

Hi I tried to upgrade my froyo firmware to gingerbread using Odin but ran into a problem. I put the phone in "downloading" mode and it says that in yellow on the phone and I run Odin and Odin shows me the box turning yellow and all but after I load the files and hit start, it hangs after saying "<1> big partion space" and it stayed like that for about maybe 25 mins before i pulled the plug. I am running win Xp SP3 and I do have the Samsung drivers installed. What do I do to get this to work?

sounds like you have the files in the wrong slots. be sure to put all three .tar files in their proper places, verify the "one package" box on the left is not selected, remove your sd card and try again.

I loaded the rooted gb from first page no problem. than i tried to load the rooted gb with a2sd already installed and it hangs on samsung logo. any reason why?

there was no .ops that came with the a2sd zip file

you're right, i only added the images. i'll update that as soon as i can but the ops file is the same.
how long did you wait?
is your sd card already partitioned?

for some reason, i noticed during this updating process i lost my partition. i opened up eeasus and it showed my 16gb card had 13.88 gbs of unused memory and no partition (i had dt a2sd on froyo). when i tried to turn my phone back on to usb mass storage, it doesnt even show a memory card.

edit: after trying to repartition with cwm, i opened easeus and it now show i have 12.9 gbs and no partition. am im losing memory on the card?!

update: after trying to create a new partition with minitool partition wizard it said "if you like to create serveral partitions on this disk, you need to remove all existiing partitions first". i dont see any
