if you partitioned your sdcard and are trying to recover data from it, i dont think you will have any luck
Odin will work to get your phone back to a working condition

well my phone was working i just couldn't get all of my apps back....i have ttb and im sure i will get them all back,it's just alot of work....all part of tha fun huh!?!?
plus there was alot of force closes after i did that....
now my status first off let me thank you HROURK13 for the fast response to my problem what worked for me was unmountng the sd card then odin was alive again flashed my back ups but most of my apps were just the lil android icon but black......so,i said f-it and was already going to check out the cm7 and still will when i seen a downloaded file that i had downloaded once while i was reading through the threds......called gb-rt-cwm5-kk1-a2sd .......i flashed through all mighty Odin and Wow!!!! its got all of the system app crap that i'm sure i will get rid of w/ es file explorer but i immedietly noticed the 3g with both bars and the signal bar are at 2 and 3 bars when it has always been 1 or no bars boost eats it bad.....i haven't linkback to who put this together but thank you i think it was inigomontoyasr.....if so thank you.....i think that i am going to trick this one out and then check out cm7 beta 2......i also want to say that i really enjoyed Bloodawns ctmod.......it is a wonderful mod or rom,i think they are the same thing.......i'm such a noob.......but i'm caching on fast.thanks to all of y'all working hard on trickin this little phone that could......
with all that said can anyone tell me what all is compatible with this mod..........themes, signal booster and anything else that will enhance this phone........thanks once again Y'all.........................
wait a little on the CM7, I am working on a new version, will probably have something by the end of this weekend

the one time that totally bricked my phone i didnt know about THE ALMIGHTY ODIN......so i sent th paper weight to samsung they sent it back fixed in a week......i even tried to jig it first but sadly failed......
the next thing i want to learn how to use all of these powerful tools i want to understand overclocking andv6 turbo charger and how installl through the build prop.....still have a lot to learn................

I'm pretty sure it does. Not to worry though. After your done just flash ctmod 2.3 and it will be removed and you will have the best gingerbread prevail Rom available
I have ctmod installed right now and overall it's pretty good. It could be my imagination but it feels like the battery drains faster with ctmod than before I installed it. I was thinking about installing the that odin package to see if it's all in my head or not, but will probably just go with the ctmod so I don't have that ciq on my phone.
Thanks for your reply 76ford90lx. If some more time goes by and I still feel like the battery is draining faster than it seemed to before ctmod, I might still give that test a go and post in the relevant forum. Then again, I'm lazy so probably not ;-)

Hey guys, so I got my prevail in the fall with firmware.2.2. While getting the phone rooted I installed a rom manager? So now when I try to update to GB 2.3 I get what appears to be an error msg(an andriod with a big attention symbol) and nothing happens til I pull the battery.
So I decided to just pull an image from odin with GB & root. I was going through the steps BUT when I press power+up vol+camera it brings me to CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.5 and odin doesn't recognize my phone. I have several options through this CWM but I don't know how to bypass so I can just get a clean slate. I backed up my contacts, I can re-get the apps nbd. I just need help

Can someone please help me with restoring my phone!!!!!! I have went from EE14 to Gingerbread with no problem. I tried installing CWM and my phone wont even boot. It starts at the SAMSUNG log on screen n stops there. I have tried EE13, EE4, Gingerbread, hell just about all of them with the same results. Someone please help!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I've searched forever on how to properly use Odin to recover my phone. Where do I get the SPHM820.ops, PHONE.tar, and PDA.tar. I wonder if these files came with a verson of Odin that I don't have...? my version came with only "Orion.ops" but for some reason I don't think that's the ops file I need for my prevail. Please help. Thanks.

Download one of the odin images to your pc. I recommend the one by chin checka because it already has cwm. make sure you have the usb drivers installed. Follow the directions listed in OP and the readme. Take your time!

actually, you were told that if you can get your phone into downloading mode (and yes, the 'downloading' text should stay on there. And you only need to press Vol down + camera + power, until it says downloading) that this MIGHT fix your problem. But yes, if you can do that, you can start fresh.
