Root Odin (Return phone to Stock/Factory)

Anyone know if the FA19 baseband will work for CM7? I would DL but only cellular net so don't wanna waste the time if not.

EDIT: Can someone just upload the phone.tar?

You may see a drop in the signal bar at the top but don't worry . Evidently , Boost changed some settings . The bars may read lower but the signal is still the same . I'm running CM7 at the moment and it gives me the option to check the dBm's . They are the same as they were before I flashed the modem update .

I noticed when going to apply this through Odin that it has a CSC.tar. I have not seen this in an Odin Image before. I was wondering if someone could fill me in on what it is or what it is for.

Oh, and BTW, reports that this Image does not have CIQ are true from appearances and as BOOST is a sud-divison of Sprint it likely is true. Sprint has announced that as of January, it will begin removing and no longer using CIQ on any and all of its phones.

CSC File Name Name of the TAR file you put into Odin to flash the CSC (Carrier Customizations)

the CSC file

It determines the language and keyboard settings

European BSE CSC has AZERTY + QWERTY keyboard format

European OXX CSC has QWERTY + QWERTZ keyboard format

Indian DDJK4 CSC has QWERTY

On the Prevail, CSC ended up mapped to the /cache partition.
If you swap to ext4 cache partitions (CTMod/CM7) the CSC ends up putting it back to RFS

Furthering my belief that Samsung is lurking here (which makes Hroark's 'dear Samsung' post even better) wonder how fast we can force out another update :D lol

Gotta question about the Odin to rooted stock FA19. Is there any reason why anytime I go into CWM and hit "reboot system" it reboots back into CWM? After doing it a second time it boots the phone like normal. Just curious, not killing me to wait an extra few seconds or anything.

And also I'll ask here also. Do I have to use the stick.zip still after using the above mentioned FA19 flash?

the double reboot thing is a "bug" in adbd. I suspect it does that on purpose to handle the OTA updates with stock recovery.

You don't need to do the stick.zip with the rooted stock, the image has it already applied

Maybe it's not so much that we "force" them as much as maybe we have an admirer, or Samsung/Boost has learned to listen to their user base, and appreciate the homebrew community.

Maybe I put too much faith in the good will of others, maybe it's the hallucinogens :D

Just ran the FA19 Rooted with CMW5.. Great Success!
Thx to all who've made this turd of a phone into an actual usable piece of hardware.

it actually a bug in the kernel, i did fix it, I just need to make a new CWM

Ahh, I just assumed it was part of adbd's doing. Seeing how the ota updates would run a FOTA to update the baseband and then return to recovery to finish the update, I thought it was on purpose

I've had it with the new update . I was originally getting decent signal but it was fluctuating way 2 much . Also , my 3g is going in and out . I'm just gonna revert back to to the older version and use Autostarts to disable the update .

Thats what im doing also. Maybe there fixing it as we speak.. But it is junk!!!!

Edit: just got an update notification for FA19 bug fix release.. is this the original update or their fix for their junky release??

I agree . I am in the process of re-installing everything as I type .

UPDATE: I just finished reverting back to the older version and I can already tell a big difference .
