Root Odin (Return phone to Stock/Factory)

Downloading now. Thank you!

*edit: Used this, worked great to unloop the phone from the boost logo, checked the settings and made sure all codes were correct, then put FA19_Rooted_CWM on and all is extremely happy.

Now to find a way to prevent anyone other than the authorized user (me) from installing apps.

(Note for reference, this is my child's phone and I don't want anyone to be putting any malicious software on it.)

You can set up a pin in the market (play store) that will do just that.

Hello,

I sold my prevail and I restored it back to factory but the cwm recovery is still on the phone. Will the new owner be able to activate the phone from boost?

I did search. I must of missed it :)

Yes I'm a noob. Just tried to root my Prevail w Odin ( sphm820_FA19_rooted_CWM) and my phone has not rebooted after 20 minutes. I've been reading these threads for the past 3 weeks trying to decide to root or not. Tried the onle click method with no luck. Now i'm stuck. I did not un plug as i'm afraid of bricking.

Im having problems with the FA19 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 by Koumajutsu, This is how it happened

I Rooted a stock samsung galaxy prevail with one click root
I started getting constant FA19 update reminders
After getting annoyed with the reminders I decided to install the FA19 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 by Koumajutsu
Everything was fine except that when Adfree would update it would cause the phone to reboot.
I thought maybe reinstalling the FA19 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 by Koumajutsu would fix it but it didnt.
Now the phone randomly reboots or shuts off and my download speed is extremely slow.

Can somebody please help me and tell me how to fix this ?

I'm not sure about your random reboots..., might be some app screwing around with you phone.

But, if I were you, I would re-odin-nig to FA19 (back-up first) and then do what The~skater~87 is suggesting for the baseband.

[TIP] Quick Baseband Switching

this way you'll have the FA19 up-date, but with EJ06 baseband (better signal and 3g) in my opinion.

Hi hroark13

I noticed one link was giving me "404 error" not found. So i checked all of links and some came up not found too.

I found the some of the links just by googling the package file name ( XXXXX.zip). Maybe the server is messed up (http://m1ent.dyndns.org/).

Here are the links

1.EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 New link - Here
2.EJ06 Gingerbread Stock New link - Here
3.EE14 ROOTED CWM AND HROARKERNEL New link - Not found
4.EE14 STOCK New Link - Here
5.ED13 ROOTED ED13 STOCK New link - Here

Can you post the checksum for these files to verify? Thanx

Sorry if I had missed a column concerning this problem.

At first I was having the not booting problem at the logo, used the odin and eventually It started again. That's all great because now I have a phone I can use again. My problem is that I wanted to be updated to where it should be, and not outdated... and for the damned life of me I can't get this. Can anyone help me out with this?

Also, when I try to update through the phone.. It tells me I have an internal error?

/edit Nevermind, I'm a doofus. Whenever I was prompted to enter the files, It was still set to the old ones. Just had to change the folder I was looking. Thank you so much for this!!!

You bring up a very good point about using Odin: Always make sure it is set to the correct directory. If you have used it before from a different directory, that old one may still show up even if you are running a different copy of Odin from a different directory (folder).

I think I just confused myself. But I know what I mean. Lol.

Once you have selected the first file in the proper folder, the rest should look in the right place. It usually does not matter with the OPS file since it is the same, but I usually do that one first, so that is where I fix it.

Can't flash my girlfriend's phone back to stock from cm7. Keeps giving an error about large partition size. Never gave this error before. Any thoughts?

Yeah I noticed that myself even going from Odin 4.42 to 4.43 it will bring up the previously installed folder definitely have to pay attention to the names. Wonder if there's a cache or something to clear

Just an idea but why dont someone make a new FA19 image with the EJ06 baseband....i would but i think it would take a while to upload over barnacle.

just take your favorite FA19 set of tarbals and replace the phone.tar with the phone.tar from any of the EJ06 sets.

It's that easy, which is why noone's done it.

it's not that hard to change directories when picking the files to flash :D
