Root Odin (Return phone to Stock/Factory)

really, that is the one i originally used. i pretty much save most downloads to pc. i have a folder and when something new comes up i download it and save even if i might never want or use it, just to have it.

Ya I was sorta bummed cause I like EJ06 that's what I'm using on my phone so I wanted to use it on this other phone. Oh well.

For months, I played around with the roots for my Prevail. I got annoyed by the constant Android version updates that caused this thread to be started. I was sure I had successfully returned my phone to stock a while back and got the non rooted Gingerbread version.

Now it's time to sell my phone, since I just got the Evo 4G. My only problem is, when I hard reset, the phone settings still have my phone number in it. What am I doing wrong? All of my data is gone from the phone, so that's cool. But shouldn't my phone number be gone, too?

My settings now say my build number is Gingerbread.FE16, Android 2.3.6.

That is the most up 2 date Android version for the Prevail. As for getting rid of your phone number, I'm not sure. I do know that there is a way to do a Master Wipe in the hidden menu though because I've done it and had to reactivate the phone. lol. I can't remember the exact numbers to enter and I don't have a Prevail any longer to play with it and find out. Maybe someone in here knows how to access it. ;)

That would be pretty cool. I'm not seriously worried about a buyer of this phone knowing my phone number, but I'd still prefer it not be there.

Yeah, I don't blame you. Have you contacted Boost? I'm pretty sure they could guide you through the process of doing a Master Wipe. I've racked my brain but I just can't remember.

you need to do a SCRTN reset. it requires the MSL code and ##72786# in the dialer. this will allow someone else to program and reactivate the phone as if it were brand new. just punch in the code, enter your MSL, and then select OK for the SCRTN. however i do recommend copying your settings down just as a safety precaution. i never like automated resets. hope that helps.;)

Is that an update for people that were on the FA19 to FE16 update? Or is everyone getting it?
it updates to ff19 and i think everyone is getting unless it is blocked by ctmod or if you blocked it yourself. already go someone says does nothing good.

I updated the OP

thanks for making the images again

No problem, they don't have Odin in them like the other images do, I slapped them together pretty quick. I'm not even 100% sure the rooted image has full rood capability. I think they may have blocked it from working in the kernel image.

Koumajutsu, is it possible to export the old lock screen from the earlier builds and use it with the otherwise updated factory (+root) ROM?

thanks for your work and expertise

edit: root access in FF19 doesnt work. FYI.
