I think the post deletions are breaking the thread :) oops...and fwiw, apologies for my posts which I didn't think were inflammatory. But if they were inappropriate, my apologies to the powers that be.

No biggie, no worries. Once a post is deleted, usual thing is to delete the on-going discussion about it - goal is to make it as if it never happened. ;)

Wow, sorry to read of all the newest Nexus delay angst. Still hoping it gets released early enough before the holidays for people to take advantage of it.

My Rezound arrived today, and after resolving some family plan activation switcharound headaches (and a couple of hopefully transient glitches) I'm really liking the phone. Very responsive with a gorgeous screen -- I can only imagine what Nexus will look like with its SAMOLED colors and contrast levels.

Awfully convenient that all of a sudden Verizon cares about releasing a completely bug-free Nexus, delaying as necessary, but they've put out some of the most bug-ridden phones available for more than a year (Fascinate, Thunderbolt, Bionic, Droid X2)...

So what you're saying is Verizon should continue to put out bug-ridden phones? That if they improve their quality control then it must be an indication of some hidden malicious motive?

I find it disturbing that there's 19 thanks so far on such a conspiratorial post.

Codec is a weird word, seems like it's a piece of hardware, in this context, but I always thought of it as the software. Someone teach me the difference, I'm too lazy to google today.

It can be either software or custom hardware to compress/decompress (really encode/decode) a media stream. Hardware can be both higher performance and more power efficient, but it requires circuitry real-estate and can't be fixed or improved w/upgrade patches.

Been out for a few days (on call) WHAT HAPPENED TO HANS?!?!? Do we need to form a search and extraction mission?

Hans and the Mods had a disagreement over some words he used, and the warnings he did or didn't receive. It's quite public -- click his profile and check his last post. All the gory details are there for the forum to read.

Good explanation, thanks! :)

OK, with that, per Steven's request, let's please not air it further at present, just use PMs.

Cheers, thanks!

Isnt there some sort of time travel law that you are not supposed to change anything in the past because it will affect the present?.......HEY! WHERE DID MY G NEX GO? IT WAS RIGHT HERE A SECOND AGO!

The Doctor would say yes. :)

lte/3g issues would be my guess if I were to pick a sticky bug that would be difficult to work through that would be my guess.

I wonder, though...

Wouldn't this have been the first thing wrung out by Samsung and the Verizon, given past problems with other LTE phones?

And if it were the problem -- possibly a serious or complex issue -- would Samsung's VP have appeared on that Fox news segment that made the rounds a few weeks back, seeming challenging VZW to release?

And we heard the same confidence from Panda (who has been quiet lately).

Not to say it could have been an LTE issue discovered late, but is that really likely?
