If you read the OP documents posted yesterday, its clear Verizon is purposely holding this as close to the chest as possible. I guess to avoid stampedes, or something?

Per their TOS the device has to be in "like new" condition.... it doesn't actually state that it has to be the same device.... maybe you'll get lucky and the CSR won't check to see if the numbers on the box match the numbers on the phone.

I actually returned a phone to Verizon without the box (not recently). However the insurance replacement usually has the replacement sticker under the battery (says refurb or something like that). Not sure if they would take it back. Would be interesting to know. You may get lucky and get a new one if there are not enough refurbed units though.

yeah as new as the RAZR is its likely you'll get a new one. IF the give you a RAZR. Auserion has a NASTY little disclaimer that says "or equivalent device". They may try to pass a BIONIC off on you...

I would think you would want the stampedes. It was a great advertisement for the iPhone when it came out. Showing all those people waiting in lines for hours to get their hands on one was good PR.

Unless the manufacturer of the phone in question is busy running ads specifically bashing this practice, haha.
 
I predict we'll hear no official news this morning. Luckily I can't see into the future so hopefully I'm wrong. :D

I dunno.... they probably have quite a few returned RAZRs in stock.

I've been catching up while riding the bus into work today (reading since Stevens confrimation post). I am still seeing this as rumor as well. Until VZW has, the phone will be released on XY day, then its just another leaked document that may/may not be correct.

Although, I am giving this a 90% chance of being real, I have nothing to base that on other than hope....tis the holiday season after all....miracles happen this time of year:D
 
I can definitely sympathize with those of you who won't be able to take a deep breath, smile, and really feel good about things until official word is out. I personally feel once it gets down to the CSRs at the stores, its pretty much set in stone. My only question is, do we have to wait two days or three.
 
Why put the word "confirmed" in the OP? That word should definitely be reserved for when Verizon actually announced a date. As for this Friday, I'm still not getting my hopes up.

Sorry to say it, but I think you may be stuck with it. I was at a store the other day faking interest in the Razr, saying I was trying to hold out for the Nexus. The sales associate said he would suggest I wait, as I'd have to pay the restocking fee, and if there was any damage to the Razr in the meantime I'd be stuck with it.
 
Could we please not use the word 'confirmed' until Verizon officially comes out and says: It's here. You'll get to pre-order it on this day. You will see it in stores two days later. Displays will be out before the pre-orders. Until then, nothing is confirmed. I saw that and immediately looked for a link to Verizon claiming it. This could change at the drop of a hat tomorrow (just like the 11/17 and Black Friday dates).
