People are sure getting in a huff over the title of an internet thread. This isn't open heart surgery, it's a phone release. Relax...it really doesn't matter all that much in the long run. Let people get excited if they want. It's a phone, a gadget. This is all supposed to be fun!

How is everyone taking this as a confirmed leak? I just saw the documents and my 3 year old baby cousin can make those..Not saying its fake but seriously we should know better than to jump on the band wagon, no?

Just called Verizon Wireless *611 and asked to have my last NE2 moved from 12/28 to 12/9 in anticipation of the Galaxy Nexus launch on the 9th. The CSR asked if I'd pre-ordered it yet. I nearly fell out of my chair. I stammered and said, no but I'd like to right now if that's possible. She said hold for one moment while I confirm I can do this pre-order. I am on hold sitll.

we're waiting !!!!!

I got a meeting at 9am(est) don't make me late!

Please tell more

Does anyone know of any other devices that have gotten a soft launch on Verizon? We would still get a press release at the very least right? I don't want to take off of work just to ask the store for the phone on Thursday and hear they don't have it/ know what i'm talking about.

Yeah, we will get a press release. Actually when you think about it, if Verizon does launch where you have to ask for the phone, it is a pretty huge favor to us in the tech community. They are basically saying, we are saving the phone for those in the know first. So the scenario of Joe blow coming in and taking the last phone and a Nexaholic going home empty handed is less likely.

I am extremely upset over Verizon and the other carriers blocking Google Wallet. There has to be some sort of legal precedent here. You cannot block a competing product to push your own product down consumers' throats.

the whole purpose of this thread is jumping on the bandwagon :)

I'm happily following the other lemmings off the cliff.
following my friend off the bridge (sorry mom)
etc...

Which is exactly why Verizon doesn't want Google Wallet on this phone. If people start using this before ISIS comes out, it's unlikely they'll switch.

this is interesting, and would be EXTREMELY stupid of Google if true...

Google is really smart about somethings and really stupid about others.

they need to look at history and how products become standards.

Betamax vs VCS
apple vs PC (the first time in the 80's)
dvd-hd vs blueray
etc...

the faster you can get a product/service widely distributed the better chance of it being adopted...

I, for one, do know better. And yet, I am also optimistic for a release this week. Curious thing, the human mind, with its reasons and desires.

I'd hope they announce something this morning if Thursday is really the day. I'd rather let my job know i'll be out than faking sick to get my phone, hehe

I really think it's legit though man it lines up with everything we've been hearing..

[EXCLUSIVE] Galaxy Nexus To Drop Stateside December 9th

but then again at one point we were SURE this phone was coming out the first week in November lol

Sure you can, otherwise McDonalds would sell Coke and Pepsi.

The CSR came back and said, I'm sorry it's still not showing up in my system which surprises me. She said that I should call back on Friday to have my date changed since that is the day it's due to be released. I asked her if there is a pre-order scheduled since she asked me if I wanted to pre-order. She said with this phone no one knows for sure. They are told one thing one day and something different another. I asked again about my date changing from 12/28 to 12/9, she said she'd note my account that she said it could be moved, but I would need to call on Friday to complete everything.

Agreed, I can totally see VZW blocking it. I was referring to why Google would give Sprint a exclusive. (if the ZDnet report accurate). But again like the the poster mentioned it may be that Google is spinning everyone else saying no into a Sprint "exclusive" . who knows

Bummer about no Pre-order. But this may be the first telesales person confirming Friday...

Verizon says "No Google Wallet for you!" - Verizon to block Google Wallet from Galaxy Nexus usersAndroidGuys

They call it what it looks like. Anticompetitive. GW is already working at some places. I'm not aware of ISIS being actually available anywhere.

that's what I was told about moving the "date".

Basically the can't move the date what they do is a "manager" override and order you the phone anyway so you need to call or go to a store :/ (I have a note on my account also)

if i had the money i'd get the gsm version and drop verizon especially after the rumor of them stopping the grandfathered plans in march if u renew or upgrade
if they do that i'll sell my lte nexus get the gsm and go somewhere else
