I had a couple upgrades available so I used one for the bionic and it gets me really exited for how great the prime will be. So far the phone is great in the speed department so the prime should blow me away but for those that were discussing ths mega pixel stuff earlier check out the camera on the bionic its the worst camera I have ever been exposed to. I don't know if 8 megs of blur are better then five but I'll take any of my previous cameras over this, including my kids voyager. Now I can't wait for the prime to be unleashed I don't want to have to carry my phone and a camera at all times.

I would love to see some real comparisons. If you can, take the Bionic and comparison camera and set them up so you do not have to hold them still on a counter top and take images of the same item at the same distance under the same light & conditions and post sections of 100% crops if you care to take the trouble.

Since the whole image @ 100% would be too big here, just crop out a section of the same areas on both and post? Without any image resizing.

Don't fret about quality as most cams @ 100% are not great, but its a good comparison method.

I already had to wait to pick up the bionic (and I'm still waiting so I haven't committed to anything as of yet) even with the bugs but since no fix will be available at least until November than I'm gonna wait to see what else happens. I am a Moto "fanboy" of sorts as I love their build quality but so far the hardware isn't the issue so I'm gonna hold off to see what else comes up. Personally, if the Prime is what you guys are hyping it up to be then it's gonna be an easy buy for me even with the bloat that big red might put on it if it comes to Verizon. Either way, I hope that the Prime comes and is bugless.......ok, let's be honest, I highly doubt that it will be but with an unlocked bootloader I'm sure it won't be hard to fix within the dev community within a week or so. I'm just gonna float around getting a good look from the outside before I decide which purchase I'm gonna make and the forum that I'll live in even if it is only for a few months. lol
 
I'm officially waiting for this phone now. Still hanging on to an OG Droid, and passing on the Bionic.

My only requirement is 4G LTE Verizon. If it's not that, I will at least reconsider.

Agreed! I'd go over to the bionic thread if I wanted info on it. More info on the Prime please! I know I'm a troll as well but we only troll because of elitist that talk to us like we are stupid and they are the best thing that ever happened to the forums because the have thousands of posts!
 
I ask because I can pretty much live off of wifi. .Just trying to get an idea of what you guys MOSTLY do. .also what kind of data plans will you be running on ?

ATL is beautiful, I go there every so often
 
I am grandfathered into unlimited data. LTE without unlimited is a recipe for disaster IMHO. I use wifi a lot too, only because it's so much faster than 3G. LTE will give me the flexibility to do more away from home than I do AT home. And with Android 2.2 I dare not log onto an open public wifi network with this Droid.

Will they let you use grandfathered unlimited on this new phone, or have they come up with a way of making you change your plan. .i know carriers hate when customers stay on their grandfathered plans, and do everything in their power to try and persuade us to change. .sometimes even force
 
I have yet to hear any new Bionic owners screaming that their unlimited plans were changed to tiered for LTE... I have no reason to believe that Verizon would do that to us for the Prime. If they DO? I would save money by paying full retail for it and keeping my old plan.

I doubt I would be waiting for Prime if it wasn't an LTE device. If you are in an LTE area and already have an unlimited data plan, I don't see any reason to buy anything but and LTE device going forward...unless devices that begin with "i" are your preference.

That said, my LTE service has been a little underwhelming lately....

Ping: 229ms
Download: 1506kbps
Upload: 921kbps

and THAT'S why I want/need LTE :)

As far as complaining, if that's too slow: have you called Verizon to find out what's going on in the area?

I concur. I can testify to the veracity of the leaked document, as I was able to place a call to the source before his or her name was redacted in a later edit. Tee hee.

Occurs to me that a mannequin is a fake person. I mean, I want to believe the leak too, but it's a suspiciously hoaxy name. Just sayin'.
