Occurs to me that a mannequin is a fake person. I mean, I want to believe the leak too, but it's a suspiciously hoaxy name. Just sayin'.
Trust me, I'm not clever enough to come up with elaborate hoax's.
Edit: Mannequins is my Gmail, my steam name, my bfbc2 name and many others..

@CerealKiller & theJungle: the information that was redacted in that photo was originally visible... name AND number. The number was called and it IS, in fact, the person and title on the sheet. And that person is in the know.

So take it on board as a hoax if you want... but there are those of us who were in the forum who scrambled to make sure that information was concealed to protect the source. It's as real as it gets, folks; as far as I'm concerned, Mannequins is the hero of the week for that post! Thanks, Mannequins!

EDIT: BTW, it likely IS a Word/Notepad document. Surprisingly, Verizon employees generally use those! What were you guys expecting? Some kind of holographic letterhead? It's a printout of an e-mail, for crying out loud...

Here's a little more "evidence" for the November release.

"Bionic not doing it? The real end of waiting comes in Nov....next me next you...nexUS"

I can't wait. Is it november yet? :)

Thanks back at ya, Snowmancomic! November?

I'm really hoping that Nexus DOES come out in November on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile; following an October release of Droid Prime on Verizon... my poor OG Droid can only wait so much longer...

If you say so - It must be true, thanks!

No offense to anyone but the whole doc looks like a hoax.

Rest assured, children, rest assured. Before the name and phone number of the person was redacted, I dialed the number to see who it might be. (I was prepared to simply say that I dialed the wrong number if someone actually picked up.) It was a Verizon office voicemail. I know that it was because my sister (who works for Verizon) has the same type of "verizon ring" to her office line and her voicemail greeting sounds very much like this person's. It's probably a protocol. So, at the very least, the phone number and name of the person was legit.

With all due respect, Mannequins, and with full knowledge that I believe in you, this argument is deeply flawed. If I was to rob a bank and my only defense was "I'm not clever enough! I'm not clever enough!", I would be going to a Federal Prison for quite a long time.

. . . .It's as real as it gets, folks; as far as I'm concerned, Mannequins is the hero of the week for that post! Thanks, Mannequins!

I wouldn't be so quick to pronounce him the hero of the week, Chief. First of all, it's not Monday yet. And second of all, last night I rescued a small child and her dog from a burning building. Not to toot my own horn, of course, but I would tend towards the conclusion that I, in fact, am the true hero of the week.

No, please, hold your applause. That won't be necessary.

Here's a little more "evidence" for the November release.

This does coincide with what my sister said earlier this week about it releasing "after pumpkin day" (meaning not October) "and before Turkey day".

Things are shaping up for a mid-November release. I think that I can wait. I honestly think that the Vigor will have beautiful specs, and will be tempting, but ICS makes all the difference to me at this point. I don't want to be stuck with a phone that has 4 useless capacitive buttons. I just hope that the software buttons on the ICS display will be either removable or customizable. . . .I'd hate for them to fill up a bigger part of the screen than I would like. . .

Are you a first responder, HanSolo? If so, then there would be no better day than Patriot Day to say "thank you" for what you did last night and what you do every day. SO THANK YOU! :)

Okay, okay! If your sis says November, then November it is. Also jives with what P3Droid is saying. Poor Droid. Poor, poor Droid. Another month to wait.

No, no I'm not a first responder. I was being facetious. But I did tell my wife "Wait, hold on" when she was about to cross the street the other day in downtown Chicago. She was texting and was about to walk onto a busy steet. At my heroic warning, however, she stopped (although continued texting without looking up). If I had said nothing, she would have been in a hundred slimy pieces.

Does that count?

November....uggggh! Hey that's only TWO months away......sigh.....I'm gonna look hard at the Vigor when it comes out. I don't know what benefits ICS is gonna give me or if that's worth waiting for. If the Vigor is as 'Vigorous' as it is supposed to be,it'll be hard to wait till November!

For all my claims that Prime is the only phone worth buying this year, I will be looking hard at the Vigor as well. I'm already, however, slightly biased against HTC for the almost-unforgivable mistake that was the Eris. Although I think that the Vigor (only a codename, remember) will turn out to be a sort of "Incredible 3" or "Incredible HD". I haven't played with an Incredible before, but if you like that phone, you'll probably love the Vigor when it comes out, whatever name it will have upon release.

Hell, my wife has too much life insurance on her... I would have kept my mouth shut :p

You do know, right, that if anything ever happens to your wife, they always look at the husband first? And his computer? And his posts?

Tsk tsk tsk.

:D

Will this be October or November?!?! How do you guys think - will we see ICS before Nexus official launch? I hope Google will show this few months before Nexus announce. It may happen - an official announcment of the OS, later the nexus phone, and at the end market launch few weeks later. Could be my speculations true, or is it just a stupid talking?

I'm strongly thinking November 18 or 25 for an actual Verizon Prime release.

Hopefully we will have some beta versions of ICS before then, like Apple is doing with IOS 5. Or at the very least, some devs will get their hands on it and show off certain aspects of it.

We hardcore seasoned veterans of Android wait, that's the only thing we know right now eh?
Some of us have tried others and fell back to the OG Droid to wait. I lost my mind and gave an HTC Dinc2 about 6 hours and put it back in the box.

I read things like, "There is always something better coming out, you can't wait it out". Oh Yes we can.

We wait because there is nothing really worthy of our expectations on the market to date. Nothing! If its fast it's Pentile, If its not Pentile its a battery hog. If its not a battery hog or Pentile its not 4G or has a display smaller then 4.3".

Look at the Bionic. If the headphones don't have a background ringing or the pentile looks good to you, it looses a data connection on 3G and you have to boot it, all that right out of the box, bought and paid for. We wait.

We wait and we harden our patience for the coming of the Hot Rod whipping the OG Droid like a horse on its last legs, we wait.

The day will come when we sit at the Round Table and Laugh and Scoff in earnest at those who fell to impatience and shoddy configurations. We wait.

I went to the Verizon store on thur's almost took the bait but said nope i'm going to wait for prime time. My X is just fine and i'm not in 4g coverage yet and proly not till 2013. I'm about 18 mile's out of coverage.

My dear, dear Gapi. You stupid fool. ;)

We wait, yes, but we wait for a mirage that will never materialize. We wait for the perfect phone. We wait for a lover that will be just as sweet as our first, the OG Droid. But is the OG Droid really as perfect as we all thought it was? Is its kiss really as sweet?

Let me count the ways I can't stand my OG Droid.

She is ugly as a hag. I hate the square, brick-like form. The only thing that redeems the design, in my eyes, is that it will be a perfect instrument to inflict blunt force trauma upon a burglar or would-be murderer in the night. It also serves as a nice paperweight for my documents at work.

I cannot stand it's stupid keyboard. The buttons are so small that my tiny-handed wife hates it. It adds bulk to its already too-thick frame. I have used this stupid keyboard only when rebooting into recovery and the ROM I'm running doesn't have a "reboot into recovery" option. I hate this keyboard with a passion.

I cannot stand, cannot stand, Motorola's idiotic too-thin-yet-too-tall display.

The paint that was used on the camera button is cheaper than a whore's makeup. It flaked off within a month of purchase, revealing a ghastly bone-white button that grins at me like a one-toothed skull.

The camera picture quality, like all other Motorola phones, sucks. If we are at a ball game or something, it is not reliable. A couple of weeks ago we went to the Air and Water show in Chicago, and I had to ask my wife for her iPhone. Her iPhone! My idiot Droid's camera would not focus in time, and when it did, the photos were washed out and looked terrible.

The screen is too small.

When I put earphones in it, I will constantly lose audio from one side or the other. Doesn't matter what earphones I use. I have a very high quality pair, and they work perfectly on other devices, but not that well on the Droid.

The processor is too slow. It will at times freeze, and at times it will reboot by itself, although I don't have that particular problem as often as others.

And yet, I love my Droid. I think that I enjoy it much more than I would a Charge, or an Incredible, or a Bionic. The battery is excellent. The display, while 2 years old and too small, is much better than the trash they put on the Bionic.

I say this, dear stupid Gapi, because the Prime will be a wonderful phone, but it shall disappoint, as well. And no, I don't mean the bloatware that will easily be removed, or the TouchWiz UI that will easily be rooted out. I mean that, being LTE, the battery life will, dare I say it, suck.

ICS 4.0 will be buggy. 4.1, 4.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.2, 4.2.3, and 4.2.4 will be eagerly expected updates, until 5.0 (Jelly Bean, Jelly Donut, Jam and Crackers, or whatever it's called) will come and rescue us.

The screen, while HD and big, will piss some people off because of Samsung's tendency to over-saturate and make things look like cartoons.

GPS may or may not work.

Audio may or may not suck.

It may not be as thin, or as curved, or as squared as we would like.

It will be outdated by quad core, Krait processors with second-gen LTE chipsets included, in the beginning of 2012.

You see, Gapi? You see? The wait is endless! True satisfaction will never be achieved! You are trapped, trapped I tell you, in a never endless cycle of spending and greed, which threatens to destroy you and all you hold dear, unless you fork over your money, buy the Prime, and promise never to visit the forum threads of any other phone for the remainder of your contract.

Can you do it, Gapi? Can you? If so, congratulations. I believe that I will be able to do this.

The day I get my Prime, the sight of my avatar shall be rare indeed. I shall disappear from all of these different threads that I like to post on. I shall no longer log onto the Bionic forums to poke fun at their screen and battery problems. I shan't poke my head into the Vigor threads. I will never step foot into the Droid HD or SGSIII forums.

But I might still kick a can around the Prime forums, because I know that I will be begging for help for any issues I run into.

Huhhh hhuh hu huh! You wanted to be epic, but you were not! ;-) This was epic fail. I can say: NO! I had a Milestone (European Droid, if you don't know), and it was great! Keyboard was easy to use, and I don;'t have any super-thin, 4-mm fingers. It was just great. This pad, was so helpful while writing sms, and at least! - it was 550 MHz, not 600 as your Droid! And it was super fast, the only one reason I've changed it was low memory. Andt the buttery sucks, but the screen is just marvelous - clear and sharp (despite the fact it's small at the moment in comparison to SGS for example, which I have now!).

And the ICS? No, it will no disappoint us, even though it is going to be buggy - because of major changes, new UI and functions! It will have bugs, which will be fixed in next releases, but it's is not what we're focused now. iOS has a lot of bugs too, but that's not the point! We want some further step in the progress of the Android which needs a lot of improvements, and I want them in my phone, as it gets ICS!

That's what me, and we are waiting for now! ;)

PS. Prime? Prime's goin' to be the beast! It's probably going to be better than we expect now - everybody who saw that handset said it's so great they didn't want to give it back!

EDIT: And one more thing: This version of Android is a hope for these peaple who have older devices which will get a new born getting some fresh, up-to-date software - it will make them new. That's wonderful, and a lot of phones are waiting for it, as is my SGS! Some don't want to change phone now, but the ICS - this is the main point of the event! Remember it!

Wait a second. Who saw the handset and didn't want to give it back? All we've heard are rumors of it roaming the halls at Verizon, but not a peep from actual testers, so I don't understand.

And I think you misunderstood the point of my rant. I didn't mean that the Prime will suck. I meant that expectations for any awaited phone will not meet the hype. It just won't.

Even if the Prime has a built in breakfast-maker, people will complain that the eggs are too cold.

And any phone that is released as cutting-edge will be "last-gen" within 6 months at the latest. Except in the case of the Bionic, which was crap before it even released. ;)

There could be many reasons the number was in there. As I told him in his thread he shouldn't take it personal because a lot of us have seen so many fake docs go flying by and this looks like one of them. Too many things point to a hoax on this one.

Provide us with a screencap of the actual email with the peoples names redacted and then we have something. Until then anyone can open up notepad and throw together something like this.

Keep in mind I'm not questioning the release of the Prime. I know its coming. I'm only questioning the doc.

Wait a second. Who saw the handset and didn't want to give it back? All we've heard are rumors of it roaming the halls at Verizon, but not a peep from actual testers, so I don't understand.

Yeah, there ware a couple of guys, who had it in their hands, I've digget a while in the net and get into some interesting reports. One of them was here - in this thread, far far in the past, maybe at the page 4-6, I don't remember.

And I think you misunderstood the point of my rant. I didn't mean that the Prime will suck. I meant that expectations for any awaited phone will not meet the hype. It just won't.

That's right, but it's is a problem of these, who want a breakfast-maker with perfect eggs. But I have some sensible expectations, and a lot of peaple do have.
