Is there a screen protector that comes with it? I only ask because every picture of a Gnex with the TPU case I've seen looks like it has a very dark screen.

nope. got mine last week.

comes with a nice cardboard place holder with Galaxy Nexus on it tho :D

Seriously? Wow, lame. I called last night and got goose egg, was going to try again this afternoon.

PS. Call the Copley store, the people at the Downtown Crossing store are very rude. :/

That is very true. Talk to the Copley store last night. He said that they had a ton in stock, but wouldn't give me a date. He did say that they will be opening earlier for the release. I mentioned that it is supposed to rain on Thursday and he said that it is going to suck for the people waiting outside before the store opens.

OT:

So we watched a bit of Boardwalk Empire last night, the first episode. Seems pretty cool so far. I didn't know it was set in the 1920's. I love period shows and movies. If I had known that, I think I would've watched it since the beginning.

The only period drama I can't stand is Spartacus. And I love roman-themed shows (like Rome). I can't get into that one.

Oh, can this really be happening? Are we going to finally lay our paws on our Precious?

Yes, still slightly skeptical, but I'm beginning to finally hope for real!

Scott, please don't say it's coming!

The "My Precious" references crack me up. About a month ago I thought a great marketing tag line given the nature of the consumer that wants this phone would be....

One phone to rule them all...

to see all the "My precious" posts it shows that my double entendre marketing of appealing to the geeks that love this phone with a LOTR reference and the fact that it is a phone that is set out to be the model for all other phones would have in fact worked if I was Verizon's marketing guy.

My local corporate store said that there was no news and no release tomorrow. She said she would have heard about it. :(

Others, here, say yes. I'm hoping for the latter.

Great show! Don't read anything about the second season until you are through it. Big twists.

So it took some pictures of the TPU case on my nexus for you guys. I got the smoke color. It fits really well and keeps the slim feel, the only thing is the part that covers the volume buttons applies pressure to them so I found myself changing the volume just by touching it. I ended up cutting the volume key overlay out of the case and I have no more issues! :D

Thanks! Looks great!

So are you guys naming your phones?

I believe mine shall be called Darth Victorious.

"Honey, can you grab my Darth Victorious? I think I heard it ringing."

Yes. Perfect.

I just hope after using it a week I will want to name it affectionately. My current device's nickname is Thunderbrick. You probably don't need to think too hard to figure out what phone it is.

With Samsung running commercials on television mocking people standing in line for an iPhone launch. I wonder if this silence tactic is to prevent lines from forming outside of stores and thus prevent them from coming off as hypocritical. I know it's far-fetched but nevertheless something to ponder.

No, I have auto-brightness turned on. Its a little conservative on the power saving end though so its always a little dimmer than I want (probably sitting at 20% brightness right now). At full brightness the display looks awesome.

I"ll admit first 2 episodes of Spartacus. ehhh.. from the ending of episode 2 and on. ONE OF BEST SHOWS EVER. trust me.

Out of curiosity, which ones did you call?

Ooh ooh Boston people! I knew you were out there. :D I'm in Brockton, we have a corp store and a few resellers nearby. I'm kind of afraid to call. I'll probably just wait til tomorrow morning and see what they say.

Did you ask about the white Razr? Because they are saying they don't know anything about it either.
