***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Anybody in the Pittsburgh area find a place that confirmed tomorrow? I stopped in a Best Buy (McKnight) and a nice rep showed me the accessories but said they have no phones to her knowledge and expect a release next week... and I called a corporate store (also McKnight) and a RadioShack and they said early next week too.

If you are close to McKnight Road then I'd suggest coming on up north a tad farther and making Cranberry Township your Nexus destination tomorrow. The RS will hold one for you and has confirmed a 12/15 release. The VZW has not confirmed it, but the rep hinted around at it very obviously. Both open at 9 I believe and I'll be at the VZW store at 8:30. If for some reason they don't have it, I'll be going to pick up my reserved one at RS.

How many of you / us are going to be seriously pissed off tomorrow if the phone doesn't release tomorrow and you end up at these stores at 7-8am because these reps told you to be there???

We had more concrete evidence last week. I'm fully not expecting a launch tomorrow. This is looking very much like last week with everyone 100% positive of a launch... then 95% sure... then 80% sure... the we get some bad news from the "sources".

That said... I'd love to be pleasantly surprised.

Anyone in Denver find a store that said anything positive . Seems like everyone I've talked to has been very tight lipped about the Nexus

i will be happy, because i really like getting up early, waiting outside a store for employees to show up 1min before opening, and then being given news that i get to continue to rock my temporary dumbphone for a non-deterministic amount of time while VZW(sucks) continues to string me along.

Wired tether works out of the box, but OS-level wireless and hotspot dial out to check for subscription.

Barnacle was still not working as of last night.

wifi tether is working on adding galaxy nexus support, i believe...there are a few bugs open in the google code page mentioning the galaxy nexus specifically.

what app are you using for wired tether? pdanet?

I just got one of the Christmas mailers from Verizon. It only says $50 off though. Promo code stdne2. Is this the same thing as my $50 loyalty discount on the website or can I stack this on top of that tomorrow?
Thanks

How did we have more "concrete" evidence last week ?

Not so random question. Does anyone ever remember a phone launch where online orders didn't start till the morning (about the same time telesales and stores open)?

Personally, I think Verizon is keenly aware of our thread and others like it. I don't think they have an interest in prolonging our agony. Our presence does, in my opinion, add pressure to come to terms with Google over the Wallet issue.

When buying new phones at VZW corp stores, is it possible to have the phone billed to your account as part of the monthly cycle, or does it have to be paid for on the spot?

Depends on your account . I have charged accessories and phone to my account many of times it's nice being able to pay for a phone over 2 or 3 bills instead of all at once . Especially without interest like I would have if I put it on a credit card .

I bought my Rezound that way a month ago and got my bill a few weeks later and just paid for it then. I'll probably do the same thing with my Nexus

Anyone have any luck with stores in Minneapolis, other than the skyway (impossible for me to get down there and find parking). I called a couple corporate stores and RS around here, but much of the same run around.

Pretty sure it's the same. In fact, I would gather that stdne2 stands for standard ne2.

Anyone else excited about tomorrow? Not only are we more than likely getting a Nexus but it looks like Verizon is expanding their 4G service in a TON of areas, holy PRs today... and none of them Nexus related. :( :)

A VZW rep just called my cell phone to tell me that they have NO OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE. This was an unsolicited call from a 480 area code,She did mention the name of the CSR that I spoke to a month ago and was just following up.She also asked if I was interested in any other phones. WTF?

Last ditch effort to get you buy something else!

I'm see tons of posts where people have one put on hold or have an "in" with someone at a store, and I haven't done any of that yet. I don't feel like driving around aimlessly tomorrow looking for a place thats going to sell it, because i still think there will places that are in the dark as to the release date, even if it is tomorrow.

So does anyone in central NJ have a place that told them they would sell it tomorrow?

Not to insult you or the community here, but I think those in charge of releasing and marketing this phone don't have the time, or spend their time reading what blogs and forums have to say. They don't view this phone as a big seller, which is why they haven't released it.

I think there is less evidence for 1 of 2 reasons.

1) Verizon is being tight lipped about it and tomorrow is a go.
2) The phone is weeks away from launch and there simply isn't much evidence to find.

I'm betting on number 2. Though last week we got substantial rumors from DL and the twitterers and the delay was basically confirmed very quickly days ahead of the supposed launch. This week all the blogs/twitterers are still saying tomorrow is a go. I'm just as hopeful as the next guy, but hope doesn't buy me a Nexus.

If it does not go on sale tomorrow (why would VZW be so generic with a statement if it was?), will you folks listen to your sources telling you it is again?
