Root One Click Root For The Desire?

Yep one partition, oddly enough i also checked that youtube video before i rooted (i was probbaly as nervous as you were) but its definately been worth doing.

That's interesting.....I didn't consider that the partition would be visible before flashing the ROM, I didn't really check. All I knew was that the available space on the SD dropped by about 500mb which I took as a good sign, and LeeDroid knew it was there when I flashed.

Here we go then. I'm currently doing another backup of my SD card - just incase something happens to the other one. :D

I'm also downloading the ROM.

Should be starting the process in around five minutes.

Will do! I'm even going to wipe the davlik cache like the person in the video above.

Or is that not a good idea?

It's only gone and bloody worked! Sounds like an old Spectrum or something on bootup! Nice touch! :D

It's now on the LeeDroid splash screen. Just waiting now....

Right.... It's done! :D

Now how do I find out if the partition has worked? And I suppose I'll have to set up my hotmail email account again?

I think the partition has worked as well.

When I access Titanium, which comes with the ROM, it says:

Internal: 154MB (143MB Free)
SD Card: 15.4GB (15.2GB Free)
SD Card (a2sd) 479MB (385MB Free)

Quick System info.

But it wouldn't boot if the partition wasn't successful.

Edit> ya see? Not that tricky in the end. Its hard to stay calm but if you do, it works out alright in the end ;)

It seems it has worked. Do I now just copy across the contents of my SD card and reinstall my apps etc?

Edit:

Now as I have no apps on my phone, how will the phone react to some app data being backed up on my SD card when I redownload apps?

Well done! It's easy when it's done! ;) The R2-D2 sound scared the cr@p out of me first time it rebooted, I was in a quiet room leaning over the phone staring at the screen!

This is personal to me, but I restored the batch Titanium backup after flashing, and it restored everything exactly how it was before, but on the Leedroid ROM. Probably wouldn't bother if your phone works and you're happy to download apps.
Check you can access the Market, and check your network features such as viocemail, mobile internet working, etc.

Make sure none of your apps get moved to SD using the "Move to SD card" feature, just install them in phone storage, you have LOTS of spare room now! ;)

If I'm honest, I'm only really bothered about saving my progress on Angry Birds. :o

If I could get that file across somehow, I'd be happy to download everything else.

Yes! :D I've managed it. I just dragged across the angrybirds files from my last backup which is saved on my laptop.

It didn't show my progress at first. However, I then moved the app to the phone and it is in perfect working order.

So basically, ensure all apps are installed to the phone and not the SD card? As they will be stored on the SD card regardless?

Restore app+data from backuo / restore page on titanium. Just go down to Angry birds and select restore.

They HAVE to be on internal memory DO NOT move to SD. All in my FAQ ;)
