Root [Release] Android 2.2 Froyo for the Droid X

BTW did you pass out as many sbf files as i did today? It was a big day for bricking phones I guess:D

Airmaxx how sbf files did you send today?

yeah I did, and they kept asking me to send it to their e-mail:)
while I was just trying to get mine to work

Just wanted to say thanks again. I updated my droidX with the new Bootstrap. I downloaded the Rom Mandager but did not use it. So far everything seems to be working great. I have 2.2 roooted. Thanks.

Checking in. previously rooted 2.1 via easyroot, now 2.2 rooted with only one small issue. For some reason the usb drivers don't want to play nice with my pc anymore so pdanet is a no go. Flash installs itself one first boot confirmed by Lookout Mobile completing a scan on it.

yeah I had that same problem I found my X in device manager and uninstalled it, then unplugged it then plugged it back in, refound it in device manager then used the adb drivers from the original 2.1 root from alldroid to update them

Yeah, my PC mode is broken too, but Media Sync mode works fine, exactly like PC mode did in 2.1. Have you tried that?

Perhaps I wrote too soon. Everything was working great after the update until I rebooted. I simply powered the phone down and restarted. Now I think it is brinked. It is sitting on the Motorola logo. What would cause this? It was working fine. Shouls I try the update again using the battery pull method or do I need to start all the way over? Dang, I was really hoping to avoid the whole SBF thing since I have NO idea what I am doing there.

WEIRD. I pulled the battery and hit power again and it booted right up.

I'm not even sure, but I know it was a lot. Today was by far the biggest day for people wanting it. I'd reply to in a thread and by the time I was done I'd have 5 or 6 more to send, that's why I ended up putting a link in the OP of the thread.

That 4764 score is crazy, it must me a glitch or something, like when I got a 1763 with just a rooted X with no overclocking.

I finally had to post some direction to Koush's site after i noticed he a had a link. I mean seriously how am I going to brick my phone if I'm doing that all day:D

That score IS NOT A GLITCH you're just jealous!

Ah, mucho gracias! I tried reinstalling PDAnet and it wasn't happy at all in PC Mode, going to Media Sync mode worked like a champ. Going to try droider13's method now to get PC Mode working just for the heck of it.

im still trying to find out how to install the new update for bootstrap, can't seems to get it to work /cry
