I bought mine an android and showed her wordfeud...problem solved

I play on my phone..she plays on hers :D Between that and her playing catch up on her new addiction to smallville (she is watching all 10 seasons from the beginning) I'm good

The only issue I am having is the Swimming business is getting busier every day ... and staying up till 3 or 4 to be at work at 9 just isn't going to cut it much longer haha. Not to mention the 8 hours of free time at work over the winter is now gone because people are coming in for help with their pools
 
Okay, so I've determined that if you open up the app wifi tether (which won't open w/o errors) THEN try to start the portable hotspot, that too will have an error sign. I know you don't need the wifi tether app, but I didn't know that *at first* and I know other people are running into the same errors....so bottom line, don't use the wifi tether app.

Whenever I start the portable hotspot while wimax is on, I get limited connectivity, on 3g it works perfectly. I've tried starting the portable hotspot while on 3g, then start browsing, then start wimax and eventually I get "no internet access" again. I've wiped cache/dalvik cache and rebooted to no avail. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas?

I managed to talk her into going from an Epic to an Evo within her 30 days so life is good there. I just need to introduce her to some of the games so she spends some time with her's as well. :D

Damn it! lol my gf has an intercept=turd, which i successfully rooted and removed bloatware and flashed a kernel and rom still sucks though, long story short, she takes my phone and plays games on it and uses the ffc :( leaving me to stare at a wall or play COD.
 
This is a nearly perfect ROM for me but I still can't get around having a reliable nav/gps with GB, which is big for me. The 'clearing gps' from a sense rom, locating satellites, nandroiding and flashing back doesn't work for me.

I can ONLY get the gps to work by wiping cache and davlik, clearing A-GPS with the 'gps status' app, re downloading gps data then i can pick up a gps signal only about 50% of the time. And it's just not practical to go through a 10 minute procedure when you need nav on the fly. Anyone have a more permanent/ reliable fix? I really don't want to flash back to a sense rom because of this one hiccup...

That is really odd. I wiped everything and reinstalled last night then restored my nandroid and GPS still works
 
OK, wiped everything and reflashed only the rom and BINGO there is the market and the rest of the Gapps programs. Flashing the gapps zip must not be necessary. Set it up, and I am hooked! Very nicely done rom! Going to flash my kernel and see if they play well together.

I'm using Savagedzen 1.0 cfs havs kernel clocked to 245/729 and I'm easily getting 2 days w/ moderate to heavy use....This ROM is so snappy that I don't notice it's underclocked at all.
 
Has anyone had the issue that CM7 is having where it bricks the phone. I heard that people are having problems with CM7 rebooting there phones, sending them into a bootloop and then when you try to get to recovery it will bootloop going into recovery. I really like this ROM but am contemplating going back to his unleashed 2.2 RS3 because I don't want my phone bricked.

I tried SZ 1.0.1 CFS last night......phone wouldn't wake up this morning and was late for work as my alarm didn't go off.....battery pull and flashed back to Savage 1.6 no issues so far. Might give 1.0.0 a shot tonight.

I hadn't heard about this til now. Is that considered bricked or just a headache to fix?

never once have I had this happen. I would be willing to bet there is something else at play here..or that it is on nightly betas


I have also hit the repeated boot loop "brick" that I keep reading about (on different roms) and recovered from it

Honestly there is so much room for human error.

I have only been able to come up with one truly bricked scenario ... running mix mash of radio pri hboot versions and needing to do an ruu...basically no revovery no bootloader access... once "could" be bricked at that point.

In my case...as long as I have been able to get into bootloader...I have been able to recover.

I don't have wimax in my area so I can't help you there, although this may have something to do with wimax not being native to AOSP, have you tried on a Sense ROM or a different AOSP ROM such as CM7?

I know it works on sense based ROM's, I came from a sense based ROM, and I haven't tried a different AOSP ROM.......Don't know if I want to, I like this ROM too much :p.

Agreed this is my favorite ROM right now, although you may want to flash CM7 or something of the likes to see if it is something with this ROM or something across the full AOSP spectrum.

gonna try and check on this today...we tried the other day and had no issues
 
Okay I was just wondering if there is a way to make it to where wifi doesn't turn itself off when the screen is off for so long. Also what does the wifi AP toggle do in the notifications widget settings.

Interesting! I downloaded 1.0.1 2 days ago but it is listed as released today. I wonder if they pulled it due to issues. I flashed it on Kings GB last night and my phone wouldnt wake up this morning. Almost made me late for work as my alarm didn't go off. :) I will have to redownload it again and try it.
