Other roms i've tried before and since first trying this rom worked normally, like i said earlier though it's not a problem as i never get anywhere near my data limit. Just more curious as to why it's doing it. Installed the same rom on my brothers desire & wifi works fine.

were they both bought at the same time?
which radio is your desire currently running?
 
thats accually the latest radio i believe (ill be corrected if its not) so cant see it being a radio issue,
how does you gps handle? does it get a lock within a minute? (outside)
i only ask coz the radio handles all these things.
have you ever flashed the radio or a ril?
 
it must be one of them weird things then, sorry but im not technical enough to be able to recommend anything further, mine takes a few seconds to find wifi and the same again for the data connection, so im a bit stumped at you problem im afraid, other than doing a full wipe, aswell as each section seperately, in mounts and storage, make sure you format boot,cache,data and system, see if it helps, and if you can dont use a nandroid to restore it. i know its a pain in the ass but i have found its the best way to ensure there is no data issues causing the errors. also depending on how many apps you have try installing them from scratch from the market. i know this is long winded but it sorted my problems out (my camera stopped working all of a sudden, flashing the rom didnt fix it).

it might be the ril this rom is using, are both devices the same pvt model?
 
No problem ducky1979, I appreciate your thoughts. I have done a full wipe a couple of times & tried it before installing any apps with the same result. Like you said it just may be one of those things.... I'll be installing the ids version When it's ready so it hasn't put me off, in fact the speed of this thing is what impresses me most.
 
Both devices pvt4, flashed ril, same result
wiped everything reflashed, same result

Like ducky1979 said earlier, it must just be one of those things because i have now flashed a 3rd desire with the same rom (all 3 desires flashed with the same rom from the same pc) and the 3d one works great too.

May just swap my brothers for mine as he hasn't a clue :p :D


p.s thanks for the rom suroot, like i said earlier i have more than enough data allowance so it's no big deal & im enjoying using the rom.

Love the ROM so far. Just one thing: is there a way to stop the phone doing that big vibrate when shutting down?
 
Nope. Well not that you can do. Think it would be in shutdownThread.java

I haven't noticed it do a big vibrate at shut down though. You holding volume buttons at the time?
