Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Has anyone found a way to get the dictionary on this cm7 build so that the stock keyboard has auto correct and such?

Nice work tickerguy, im really diggin this new build.
BTW has anybody notice the screen and the led's go crazy when checking the voicemail or using the dial while talking?

Hello everyone.

One bug I have been encountering is not being able to send or receive (3g) data after waking the phone. I will have the 3g icon displayed (gray) but when I open up an app using data it will immediately report network issues. Toggling airplane mode will fix this, it also seems to be happening often. I am currently running the 9/25 build, coming from stock.

Thanks for all your work, Tickerguy.

This has already been discussed quite a bit throughout the thread.

1. This is probably not going to get fixed.
2. You only need to switch off/on Data. Airplane mode isn't necessary.
3. Go on Android Market and get Connection Checker. It was brought up in this thread. It automatically detects if your data is down and turns it back on if it is. Free version works fine, though you'll have to manually turn it on whenever you boot the phone. It has worked great for me since I got it--I never have to manually switch off and on data now.
4. If you're wondering, WiFi has the same issue. I have not tested Connection Checker with WiFi but I imagine it works just as well.

If nothing else, this "issue" saves a lot of battery life too. Hope I helped you out, dude.

Thank you for the quick reply, I did read the entire thread about a week ago and vaguely remembered a mentioning of it (a lot of information to take in in one sitting).

I don't know why but today the 3g is not working, it says 3g and has bars, but it's white. I have tried disabling and enabling data, airplane mode and reboot. I do know about the bug, however tonight for what ever reason the solution isn't helping:mad:

So it turns out Virgin Mobile accepted my payment they just didn't bother to replenish my minutes or data. Of course it's midnight so no customer support... Thanks Virgin :(

PS is there a way to delete post? Obviously this has nothing to do with CM7 and I am only responding to clarify that it has zero to do with this rom...

You could always just edit out the post and replace it with "Nevermind" or something. Though I don't think anyone will be offended if you leave it there. V:oV

I am not a dev but i think this may possibly help with the front facing camera problem if not just ignore my unknowing babble.

the motorola triumph is based on froyo 2.2 and to use the ffc they made a api in which allowed froyo to utilize the camera.

Now with my understanding gingerbread 2.3 uses the camera just fine also. So is there anyway to incorporate the gingerbread ffc api into this cm7 build or would this be impossible, if so we will just have to wait and see if the source comes out like Ticker says.

sorry if this just doesnt make any sense .

here is a link to a little bit of info... http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/library/triumph-front-facing-camera-api/

great work so far Ticker and Isaac!

Has anyone been able to discover a fix for the g sensor being unable to be calibrated without changing the values manually? I love the rom but love to game and the g sensor being reset with the cm7 flash, makes gaming and screen rotation very rough.

I don't know about you guys but my GPS is worse with CM7. Although on stock I had the gps.conf mod and the updated flashed GPS libraries or whatever.

No matter what rom you use download GPSfix from the market, set it to 1 minute fix time, and run it before you use your navigation/maps/gps apps. Its an easy way to make sure you get GPS locks near instantly no matter what.

I did that and in the 1 minute that GPS fix was up it did not get a lock. It only got 2 little satellite pictures. So unless I'm using it incorrectly it did not help.

I took a look at the CM7 gps.conf and I noticed that is different from the Stock 2.2 gps.conf, it is only a couple of lines long as compared to the much lengthier stock. Why is this tickerguy?

I think that is just the API for using the ffc in an application. So if I was building an app that needed to use the ffc, that shows how I would set it up and use it. Note: its not for 2.3, its for 2.2 and it is needed because 2.2 doesn't have the standard ffc APIs built into the OS.

@i2c Make sure you go outside when you test the GPS. You can't get a GPS lock inside like you can get cell service inside- it is much more sensitive- it is, afterall, connecting to satellites rotating around the earth. Its not like you ever need to use the GPS inside anyway.
