You can use Titanium Backup to backup your apps and put them back after you wipe /data

@interceptor if you have the time to harass me, then you have the time to do your own homework. Try being helpful. ;-)
Is the smartass thing a OC option cuz i thought there wasnt no OC in TG's like he said? Maybe im a nub and misinterupted what it is exactly but ppl seemed excited bout it so what excactly is the smartass kernel and other ones in the list for and what do they do? And whats the benifit and best one to use? Sorry for the nub questions :/
No, it is not overclocking. It's just a difference in how the kernel chooses what speed to run at; it tries to be more-intelligent about it than the stock governors and tries to provide a better "user experience" while improving power drain.
Now we're talkin'!
I could care less about the FFC, but full back camera support rocks! (I say I could care less about the FFC, but it is nice to know that it will at least work in apps, which is really all that matters.)
Now if only you could just squash that pesky 3G bug... (I'm not complaining at all.) Speaking of "bugs" what is the status on HDMI support? I know currently that it is borked... just curious to see if you have tried anything recently.
Thank you Tickerguy! Can't see what else you have up your sleeve!
Edit: Screenshots are still borked. Seems like one of the CM7 updates (from the sorce) changed something. Hmm...
Slider, you'll have to choose. There's no free lunch in these things - you give to get. You may find that with your particular application load this works best - it's really about how the setting options match what you do.
The 3g/wifi issues are not likely to be any different between builds; both are controlled by code we do not have source for or any alternatives to run. On my list is a means of detecting the lockup in 3g and attempting to clear it programmatically; the Wifi lock problem MAY be able to be addressed with kernel changes.
I'm finding some interesting kernel differences between the Moto code and other FIH devices in relationship to the cameras, and may find the same sort of things in the wifi interface code. We'll see what I come up with over time.
I think what we got from Motorola was basically what they had to do to get Froyo stable, but they stopped there. Not entirely unexpected but also not very nice - the good news is that there are other places to look, find the issues and reconcile. The bad news is that if it's in the kernel anyone making an OC or otherwise "enhanced" kernel for these builds who does not also integrate the updates and fixes will totally screw your load.
Also, the volume bug is gone for me, it looks like. Thankfully, it now uses the lower (usable) volume 100% of the time.
This is a little late since a0.6 just came out, but I've got a quick review of TickerGuy's A0.5 Rom on my triumph with Issac's Overclock implemented as well. I've seen Quadrant scores as high as 3400 with no crashes (yet). In the video, I believe I get over 3200:
Tickerguy's CyanogenMod 7 (CM7) Build A0.5 on the Motorola Triumph - Overclocked to 1.9 Ghz - YouTube
Check back, as I'll be making a guide for version a0.6 with the overclock and build.prop fixes for the marketplace later tonight.
Keep up the great work guys!!
Minus, there is a APP called connection checker a guy posted ( cant think of ur name sorry lol ) that will auto check for data connection every 5-30 mins ( u can set the time ) and it will auto toggle airplane mode for u, i tested this myself on previous MT phone and it worked really great, saves u from the hassle of doing it urself, figure i let u know incase u wanna try that.
Also got question, can we use the OC kernal in the latest 10/2 build or does it have to be updated to be specific for each one TG releases? ty and keep up the vids, i got a few of ur youtube vids bookmarked when i was learning how to do CWM and install roms ect ect so ty for those too
EDIT: also where did u snag that protection case and how much was it? i didnt see none at best buy that would fit the MT yet here.
I tried the app, but it seemed to eat my battery life up...I liked the app though. If I knew how to code, I'd just make something that automatically turned airplane mode on, then off every time the phone woke up...seems like that wouldn't be too hard for someone who already knows what they are doing for a temporary work around.
As for the case, I love it. Here is a link to buy it from Amazon: Amazon.com: amzer I've also got a review of it here: Motorola Triumph Amzer Silicone Skin Jelly Case Review - YouTube the only issue I have is I had to use a hole punch to make a hole in the back of the case for the noise reduction microphone on the back of the Triumph.
from what isaac said in streetpounder's thread for the OC kernel for CM7 if you flash that kernel over this build the FFC will not work any longer..... so it looks like you have just basically stayed on the 9/25 build..... other than maybe the 3g issues.Love the 10-2 Rom upgrade. I did not have to reinstall gapps... just wiped cache and dalvik cache and installed the Rom. I came from the prior build...10-25...Everything came up the first time except market didn't connect to the cloud... it showed the spinning wheel trying to connect with 3G on and wireless off...3G showed it was up and running both ways...I shut down and rebooted and market connected very quickly via G3. Where I live my 3G signal goes from poor to 3 bars and I know some of the 3G sleep issues are not the phone's per say, and forwhatever reason(s), my 3G has had no issues waking up (so far). Usually with every build and for this phone that i have tried, I needed to toggle data and/or airplane to eventually wake it up. I have had similar issues with the LG Optimus V although it didn't deep sleep as often as this phone has. Right now with the screen off for 10 minutes I checked the MT and 3G shows green! So far my 3G with this ROM rocks like never before. I briefly tested the wifi but did not let the unit sleep to see if the prior problems existed. My wifi connected to my router very quickly, e mails, browsers, everything so far works better than stock by far. The touch screen is usually very responsive, but I have found a few cases where it is unresponsive or slow to respond....but this has been less than with roms in the past so far....
Also...I do overclock so if that throws a monkey wrench into the mix let me state the following.... My MT on stock with the UMPH Kernal OC had me running at 1.7GHz stable. Right now I love running it at 1.5GHz because my quadrant scores are almost as good as running it any higher, and I believe the responsiveness of the phone in part is much better than running it at stock. The same CPU's and phones will vary and your millage will vary. On Quadrant with it running @ 1.5GHz, I get scores of 3200-3450 (Performance Governor). When I ran stock Froyo with UMPH, I got around 2200-2400. I did have to reinstall Isaac's OC kernal after I upgraded to 10-2....but that was it.....
Awesome upgrade! Thanks!!!
