Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Tg, I have absolutely no idea on ICS. I doubt I'll be making an immediate attempt to move to it; I've yet to get a crasp on exactly what it brings to the table other than being "new", and that's not enough for me to sink significant development effort into it.

My understanding is that it will run on anything in the modern processor space (E.g. Snapdragon processors, which the Triumph has) but I would expect them to have optimized it for dual-core large-RAM-space devices. We're on the lower end of that, although we do have the Adreno GPU.

Bob, if you can't find the governor with SetCPU you do NOT have the proper load. It's there in the 10/2 build and can be found either under the CM7 "performance" settings or if you have Setcpu you can find it through that as well. The GPS has been working for several builds. Make sure you have the right file (A0.6 should be in the "Mod Version") and if you loaded a differnet kernel on top of the stock one all bets are off as there have been material changes to the kernel as well.

Tickerguy, I just want to say thank you for all your hard work and time creating this rom. I love it so far! The one thing I'm not sure has been addressed is when I'm connected to my BT headset and wifi I get data speeds as if I'm on 3g. I made sure to turn off my 3g and still got the same problem, but once I disconnected my BT headset (keeping the bluetooth on the phone connected) I began receiving wifi speeds. I'm not trying to rush you at all, just trying to let you know what I've noticed with my phone.

Keep up the great work man! It's much appreciated.

I have been reading, back about 5-7 pages, and I still cannot figure out how to set the smartass2 govener. It's not in the settings, and I'm not quite clear how to flash a different kernal, i'm pretty sure that is what has to be done right?

No. Just install the 10/2 rom and it is in the CyanogenMod settings, under Performance, CPU Settings, available governors. If you aren't seeing this, you probably didn't install the rom properly.

To the ppl asking bout FFC on skype or tango working, did u ever get them issues fixed? i always assumed it worked from what i read in threads but today me and friend tried on skype and i never saw a icon for video chat, i looked and looked but nothing, so does anyone know for sure how u get it to work cuz ive never done the video chat on skype so idk if theres some kinda setting or just something all together im missing to get it to work, and i dont get why it would work for some ppl and not all since were mostly running same thing, and no OC here btw cuz FFC does work on pics and all.

I used this to be able to join G+ hangouts, it also fixed skype video for me.

This is what I have to choose from for governors with the latest build.

On Skype you have to go into the settings and turn it on. It will warn you that it's not "officially on the supported list" but allow it.

Tango just works.

Note that the hacked version floating around that ran with the FFC on the stock Froyo build will not work. Unload that and then load the version off the market.

I have made several successful video calls with Skype; I don't use Tango much if at all, but did test it. Skype, on the other hand, I do use. It's not particularly stable on a video call from 3g and if you get lagged behind what it needs to keep up it will drop the call rather than stutter or just shut the video down; Skype is odd in that regard and has never liked 3g for video calls.

It IS stable with video calls on Wifi however.

Ray, you do not have the proper load on the phone. You either loaded the wrong ROM or you loaded a different kernel over the top of it.

Tickerguy.. thanks for all the help and clarification. I know its a bit difficult to track down but my Wifi enabled phone that was sleeping rebooted just now when I went to turn it on. I will try to open a github incident but it deff does it.. don't know if it means much but it typically happens at my office where I have VERY bad signal.. (0 bars most of the time, 1 bar very occasionally, often goes to 1x for data due to signal)

Ty ticker for info, I also found out why smartassv2 wasn't sticking, cuz I had setcpu set to save on boot along with ur setting to save on boot, took off setcpu setting and sticks now.

Are you sure this is the same as the original wifi lockup issue? The wifi fix would turn the wifi off when you wake the phone up thus eliminating the problem of it being on when the phone wakes. It sounds to me (this is just a guess, as I don't have the issue and can't test it) like it is a different issue altogether. Did you try doing a totally clean install or have you just flashed it all over previous builds?

It was a clean install. The phone would take a long time to wake up from sleep if wifi was left on, and sometimes it would reboot when trying to wake up. I also found myself having to toggle airplane mode all time as 3G would stop working intermittently. Hoping they can get those issues figure out because I love the ROM otherwise.

Has anybody tried taking a pic with the ffc? When I try to it hangs then asks me to either force close or wait. If I force close it and choose to open the camera again it says it can't connect. And as far as tango goes I still get no video for ffc. Any peeps experiencing this?

EDIT: Wow I feel like a jackass. The camera still shot was mentioned on the 1st page of known bugs. My bad. Carry on...

Thanks to whoever suggested using Connection Checker (from the Market) to solve the 3G connection problems!:D I installed it a day or two ago, and my 3G hasn't dropped yet. I have it set to check every 5 minutes and have not noticed a drain on the battery! Whoopie!

Hehe that was me ;-) No prob.

hey is the wakeup time any better than the last version? just wondering thats all. and how well does the ring lockscreen work?

Mine wakes up within 1 second which isn't too bad. I didn't really notice much of a difference from the last version.

I use the Rotary Revamped and I love it. I set the custom app to my texting app so when I get a text, I can go straight to it. But my tastes aren't always going to be the most popular so I would recommend checking all of them and seeing what you like. Hope this helps!

ring lockscreen is awesome! by far the best lockscreen i've seen. i just wish somehow someway that gestures could be integrated into the actual lock mechanism, so you could swipe the lock a certain way and it would open up an app at your preference due to the actual gesture that was made by swiping the locking mechanism in that way. that would be sweet instead of having the secondary custom application option....

First Thank you Tickerguy for all the hard work. And if I didn't love the app so much I certainly wouldn't bother you. The install was great and everything worked well. My question is I have GoWeather as my live wallpaper. On the animation of the sun there is a weird looking circle, blotch, around the sun. Is there screen adjustments that I can make to clear this up? I have included a screenshot of before the install and after to help you see what I am seeing. Thanks for you time in advance.

I have no idea what that is; I use Beautiful Widgets with the sun and moon, using a live OpenGL background (animated weather on the home screen) and have no problems with anything like that.

I suspect it's the app misbehaving somehow with the OpenGL implementation.

MMS absolutely should work "straight up" without ANY changes. If it isn't on a clean load I need to look into that.

Well thank you very much for you fast reply ticker. I'll play with the display settings and see what I can discover. Otherwise it has really made the Triumph much much better.

Hi:

What you are seeing is color banding in various degrees. True 24 bit color screens see approx 16.7 million colors which is more appropriate in your before shot. Red, Green and blue at 8 bits each = 24 bit color. Your after shot may be a result of the video driver only reproducing 6 bits of color or 262 thousand colors (after). Banding can also be minimized by using dithering (it can be checked somewhere in display properties) or by interpolating 6 bit color to 8 bit color (cheaper LCD's). Different color profiles with differnt color and contrast curves can also show differences and varying degrees of banding. For band free continuous color 16 bits per color giving over 1 billion colors is the way to go and todays still cameras can do that in Raw modes only. JPG photos and images are all max of 8 bits per color (24bit). :)

So perhaps the latest video driver is giving only 6 bit color but on my MT the images look great as in true 24 bit color.

Looking again at your display before's and after's, I see that your before shot shows more banding in the red color (the Sun) and less in the blue sky...The after shot it is reversed with less banding in the red and more in the blue....This can be also caused by different tweaks in the video driver or color profile.
