Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

look at your notifications, start at the top and go to each one and hit accept, after all are gone press back and you'll be good.

Do you or anyone happen to know anyway around (disable) google maps having to use your google account while using maps? I usually just hit deny, but of course it ends up coming up when I open the app again. I mean even after denying access, I could use maps for that moment before it asks again 10 mins later or when reopening the app, but would be cool to know a way to permanently get rid of it without accepting, lol. Or I guess I could just conform and let them data mine me.

Has anyone else had issues with the clock losing its timezone adjustment?
This sometimes happens only to the customized clock on the notification bar. All other clocks are correct. A restart fixes it. Happens once a while.

I hear ya, I got only 5 things running in the background normally, settings (which is that moment of viewing right?), com.samsung.internal, DRM protected content, google services, and my favorite: swype. 74MB used, 162MB free. Today I had the lag just by trying to use youtube, became unresponsive, had to hard shut off to get out of there. The lag reminds me of CPU hang on a PC.
hmm:confused:, that is wierd to get lag with that much free. must be something else doing that. also settings will say this and that is running but when look through a tasker it will say more than you see in settings. but still sould have around a 100 really free, which is plenty. is that the youtube app or through a browser??

only reason I haven't updated root explorer is cause I didn't get it the proper way =p

i hear ya. still some things i don't update because if aint broke don't fix:D. also earlier when you said you load apps, you load apk's from explorer to sd then to new rom, not the sd-ext right?
i used to use titanium, now use sd-ext, if apk's are better gonna do that from now on. but really now phone is great and f-n fast. what i'm doing now i can go from a sleepin phone to settings, to applications, to manage apps, to all and see them and used mb and scroll down fast with no lag in about 3-4 sec. no LAG AT ALL even when scrolling. then move onto anything even the browser and no lag not even 1000's of a sec. blink and you missed it. so you got me!!!!!

that was probably kouma that said that, idk.

when i install a new rom i usually just redownload my apps from the market and manually set the settings up. only takes like 10 mins over wifi.

theres only a couple apps I keep on my sdcard, the ones I do I just install through a file manager.

woops:eek::p. sometimes when talking to everyone on different threads you can get confused who said what and then who, telling something too , my bad.

ok...

why are the apps from the screens...randomly disappear?

like, ill have alot of apps, from SD CARD, their icons on the screen, i have 5 screens, i use a clock, power, news widgets for ONE screen, then ill use another screen, to have access to apps easier..

one day, they are fine, ill restart, and 3/4 are gone...just gone, the shortcuts are...the apps are still there.

then...i could have sworn, i didnt restart, and the rest of the apps are GONE...

is this the KK 2.4? or the launcher, sony xperia, affecting this?

and how can we fix this? or just have to wait for CTMOD v3.6?

signal is better, after the 4th reflash
now its 85 to 110, average is 95

the apps disappearing are just getting annoying...

-- the widgets are fine and stay...just the apps, on any of the other screens, disappear, google ones, other ones, like cisco connect or android hackerz or android assistant...etc they just disappear like the langoliers got to them...

I can't fix something one person has happening and I cant recreate bro.

are you using SSM or Data mode? either way your apps are being stored on your sd-ext and it sounds like your card is either messed up or its not being mounted when you reboot. my rom doesn't control any of this, koumakernel does so you'd be better off asking kouma him about it.

It's just the shortcuts that disappear? It's likely the launcher then, typically if the apps aren't being recognized the shortcut is still there but without it's icon. Try going into your launcher's preferences after setting it up and back it up. Then if it ever happens again just restore the backup. I might also recommend trying a different launcher for a little while just to troubleshoot and see if you have the same problem with a different launcher. If not then it's probably the launcher, if you do then it's obviously something else.

what mode are you running in for putting your apps on SD?
SSM mode or /data mode?

And please tell me you didn't do something ******ed like run one of the built in a2sd configurations -AND- went into to the manage applications menu and started clicking things like "Move to SD card" cause that could easily cause the problem you describe because it would make apps take at least twice as long to show up in the filesystem, and by then, the system may have given up on looking for them because it has to look in the apps partition on the sdcard, it finds a link to the sdcard instead of the app that should be there, then has wait for the media scan to finish, then check to see if the app is in the user space part of the sdcard. Most likely it tries to read the SD card while the media scan is happening, gets a Device Busy error and flags the app as having been deleted, then proceeds to delete any icons/shortcuts for it

Bloodawn:
did you actually try to move all the apps at once? that won't work, it only does one at a time.

I tried it moving one at a time and they still wont show up in the app drawer.

That was through latest youtube app.

I reflashed CT3.5 yesterday and I cleaned the sd card and started out new. Right after I flashed the rom, it booted up I went into CT settings, set it as /data (no ssm) and disabled internal memory. Rebooted, then went to manage apps and verified the /data was working, and I noticed it said 292mb used and 3.4gb free. I went back into recovery to flash the CT3.5 fix, rebooted changed the CT settings back again, rebooted, and went to manage apps again. This time it said 112mb used and 3.6gb free.

My question is, whats up with the 2different used numbers? This is all of course before I installed any apps. I wonder if this has something to do with the lag that myself and others are experiencing.

sometime between the first check and the 2nd check, you lost files.
could be because the lag fix changed some settings on how much gets stored for certain apps.
if you flashed the fix and you lost the CT settings, then something unrelated may have happened. like a format of your sd-ext

I get what youre saying, but over 150mb worth of files got lost? Im going to reflash in a lil while, see what happens, then may even start from scratch again.

Two quick questions though, is it necessary to disable internal memory if just using /data to ext? Whats the differences/results between choosing to disable and not disabling?

UPDATE: I was unable to duplicate the mb differences as I stated earlier. I tried everything possible (reflashing just the rom, disabling / enabling the internal storage in CT settings, mounting the sd-ext in CWM, Odin and repeat everything I just said) and the amount used is 104mb before anything is installed.

So now my next question is, what exactly does the CT3.5 Fix zip actually do?

it adds an init.d script named S03CT, which, if you open it and read it, changes a bunch of values for all kinds of stuff

You two are referring to the browserlagfix file?

No, Blood released 2 fixes, one was the browser lag fix and another was supposed to address all kinds of lag, thats the one I was referring to. Ive just been trying to do my own detective work as to what is causing lag for me.

I'll probably have the lag fixed in 3.6, gonna revert some shit back to how it was in 3.3

That sounds like a plan dude. I know 3.3 is the last rom that I didnt experience any lag. Ill test it out as soon as its available and do an Odin and start from scratch install.

i know, it seems to be an issue on my side...its just strange...but i think its the launcher, this xperia..

strange...i didnt get an email to my replies...

i assume data, i didnt partition the sd card.

i used droidsail move to sd, which always has worked, 100%
the shortcuts, would be on the screen, reboot, restart, and they are all there, within 2 seconds of loading the screen...

it must be the launcher...
but then again, no one else is having the issue...it must just be me...

so from, ctmod 3.3,
-backed up 3.3
-flashed 3.5
-back up and restore, chose advanced, then /DATA

Rebooted...
screen loads...icons arent there...i flashed several times, each time the shortcuts were not there...no big deal, they were still installed, and on the apps menu.

so i manually made a shortcut..rebooted and they were gone.

im going to try a different launcher...

Which Launcher is the BEST for 3.5 ?
this xperia...i think is buggy on mine, for what ever reason...strange as it is.

thanks

-side note..

i only flashed that browser lag fix, im going to try that 3.5LagFix..update later.

CTMod has a built in App2SD mover that will move your apps to the SD automatically. However it's disabled by default if you don't go in your phone and enable it. You would also need to partition your SD card so that there was a SD-ext. The problems you are having I don't think its associated with the rom or kernel since you don't have none of that enabled. I think the problems you are having might be with restoring your data from CWM. I personally would re-flash everything and manually reinstall your apps. Like downloading them all from the market and then see if your problem still persists.

The next launcher you could use if you think Xperia is giving you problems would be Zeam. I love Zeam and how it runs on the prevail, but I've never had any problems with Xperia either.

I tried installing them by flashing them with the apkinstaller in recovery and it still wont work. Any ideas? (removed-apps wont show up in app drawer after installs)
