Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

One issue, and this bugs my gf not me..
I read in this thread that the "screen lock during call" feature is gone in this ROM, are there any recommended apps to get the function back? All I could really find is MyLock Utilities. Has anyone used that on the prevail, does it provide a good solution for face dialing? Any other options?

Simple solution... press the power button... the screen will go dark and MAGICALLY the screen is locked :p:p:p
I have always made a habit of this since cm7 dropped... it has the same problem. now its second nature.
 
I redid my phone and am using ssm, this time went with the 4 partition's, 16GB Card =

[fat | ext4 | ext4 | swap]
[storage|/data/app|/data/dalvik|swap]
[11836mb/1024mb/1024mb/2048mb]

When using the koumamod to setup the swap file what is the location I have to browse to to put the swap at (the 4th swap partition)

I know I should know that by now, but cant remember and cant find it in the forum.

Swappiness- 60
 
I am not using SSM, but as far as I recall from a previous post somewhere, there could be an issue setting the "swappiness" to more than 60 !!! 60 is also what Kouma recommended in a post ! ;)

Thanks. That's what I set it to, but it asked me if I wanted to use it as swap, that's right, right? - I mean I didnt actually make a swap file itsself in that location as in previous setups, so I'm guessing it's just using the whole partition, yes?

Yes swap is right. And you do not need to make a filer a folder because it uses the whole partition. That's why it's nice to have 4 instead of 3 partitions.
 
I was given an evo 4g and have been using it as a toy and media player. Rooted and running the latest and greatest. Because of CT Mod I've never needed to update my actual phone(coming soon though..lol). After playing in evo land I fully appreciate blood and this awesome rom and Kouma for the awesome kernal work. It's so smooth and stable. It should of came stock on this phone. Thanks Blood and Kouma for all the hard work. This type of rom on any other big boy phone and you guys would be internet gods.

I don't know about gods but they've damn sure got my respect. I've been around since the beginning and seen all the hard work and dedication they've put into this phone. Any phone section that gets these guys can consider themselves very lucky. Each has their own special skill set and together they are pretty much unstoppable.
 
You, LV and Cm deserve lots of thanks too. All of you have helped most of us in some way. Thats what I love about this android community. People help people..for free...for the love. Kinda how things are suppose to work I think. Thanks again.
 
sup guys,

just figured I'd let you know that I'm starting on the new/final version of CT for the prevail. I'm changing the base of the rom to FF19 so some of the stuff that was messed up before will work now like the compass, haptic feedback for the buttons and hidden menu may work but I'm not making any promises for that lol. current themes will no longer work with this update tho so keep that in mind when it comes out.

I'll probably have it done in a few days if everything goes ok.

Will there be any special upgrade procedure for all people still running FE16 ???

Do you put the latest koumamod1.7 in too ?

it won't matter what baseband your running, the rom will work with it, and if you do want to upgrade the baseband you can use odin to do it.

yea, it will include the newest koumamod.

CIQ has been gone in even the stock rom for a long time now

I've never seen a 3.0 kernel that works with GB. are you porting some drivers from 2.6.35.7/14 to it? the GPU drivers in 3.0 would probably make it chain reboot with a black screen, at least thats what it does on the marquee when flashed to a GB rom lol.

Going to try. I got some other source from another phone, cant remember which, that is basically the same as the Prevail, but with more high performance/capacity components from the same families (i.e. snapdragon series 1 processor (7xxx series), more ram, BCM2835 wifi chip)

the S3 uses an msm8x60 processor, and assholes put in a lot of chip specific code in a way that doesn't play friendly with the rest of the source.
In particular, I'm fighting with a bunch of stuff they hardcoded for accessing QFPROM parameters that the 7x series processors just don't have.
 
Kind of stupid question, but I can't upgrade to a newer CTMod just yet. I keep getting the notification that I have an update ready to install. I of course don't want to do this, but I'd like to delete any of this patch that is stored on my phone and stop it from showing up again until I'm ready to update the ROM myself.

Can someone guide me?
