Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the LG Optimus M MS690

Ugh this is frustrating, every single CyanogenMod I've put on this phone won't apply any changes to settings until after I reboot. Joniedy's Sense ROM works fine though but I don't like the fact that Flash Player for arm6 processors doesn't work with the stock Browser...
Anyways does anybody know how to fix settings??? I have tried fixing permissions, that caused it to go unstable and start force closing applications every 5 seconds...and then I tried doing it again but also clearing Dalvik just in case...no luck

I've been using reppards cm7 for about 2 months with no hiccups.

anyone else having super loud in call volume ? even with it all the way down its as loud as the stock rom all the way up.

if anyone has any ideas on how to lower it a bit that would be great.

I downloaded this rom, and flashed it 3 different times, and it's unusable on my phone. As soon as you boot into the home screen (If it even boots, sometimes it sits at the splash screen for hours and hours), it goes straight to forced close and keeps force closing the android core until you turn the phone off.

No idea what's up with it, tried it on my phone and my wifes phone, same thing.

try wiping everything first ;)

when I first started messing with all the these CM roms(reppards,PG's, Bobz), there was a moment when i was stuck in this odd boot loop. I really don't know what I did to fix it but nothing seemed to work short of a complete data reset, and I even reformated SD card(doubt it as neccesary but??). I didn't really investigate much into it.... I just needed a working phone sooner then later :D

thanks for the replies guys. Playful god, I wiped everything, I went into wipe, and selected wipe ALL userdata, than I did wipe ./cache, than I did wipe .dalvak-cache and installed, still did it

I dont know if it matters, but i was told when you wipe to start at the bottom and work up. How much of a difference it makes not too sure, thats just the way i was told.

try this from mounts and storage:

  • wipe boot
  • wipe cache
  • wipe data
  • wipe system
then wipe dalvik from advanced and reflash the rom.

hmm, I got it working last night, somehow after I did the steps again like I did last time, it worked this time. Very stable rom and not bad on battery life! Thanks for a wonderful mod, now if only it was available for ICS :)

I've had the same problem and I know someone else in here reported the same thing.

Can anybody else test this out to see if this is an actual bug? When you're making/receiving a call, you can adjust the volume to the lowest setting but the volume will still be loud. You can't even get the volume level to silent.

Ok so I spent 4 grueling hours on windows 7 ultimate x64. First I had to downgrade my updated 2.2.2 froyo back to 2.2.1 using LG's LGNPST Software and the MS960 Factory Rom. Rooted the phone using GingerBreak. Then flashed with Cyanogens 7.1 Android 2.3.7 and the latest G-Apps ROM, Using Clockwork Mod Recovery and Flash Image GUI. Everything is on ****in fire man, blazing speeds, improved usage, and UI tweaking. A Must have, why these people aren't getting paid to do this for a real company is beyond me. The phone itself is 1000x better then it as OTB. IT took some time, some prayer. But in the end my phone is fire. Overclocked successfully. The additional features are a nice plus.:D:D:D:eek::D:D:D:cool:

I have had this issue with both CM7 ROMs. The only way I know to fix it is to turn the volume all the way up so that the volume slider resyncs with the actual volume. Then, turn it down. It will turn down the way it is supposed to.

Hope this helps.

Ok so here it is, the breakdown. After flashing my metro mms fix and the gapps rom. This shit is fire. I have had the phone at a maintained 825mhz overclock. Running GO SMS and Keyboard. I have never been happier with my phone. Using Advanced Task Manager I am able to keep an estimated top of an 8Hr battery life. Now this was my first attempt at Downgrading, Rooting, Wiping and Flashing Roms. It's butter man. So butter I can't believe it's not butter. Now, i'm getting ballsy. I rebuilt Cyanogens 7.1 Mod, replacing ADWLauncher, with ADW Launcher EX, Android Keyboard with Go Keyboard, Stock MMS with GO SMS, Music Player with Poweramp Full, and Added some new themes. Implemented the Gapps into the install, so I don't have to flash them. Flashed like gravy, phone rebooted with all these features preinstalled.

So here's an alternative to gutting them after install and fighting to have two launchers on your phone. It was a simple solution to everyone's growing difficult problem of editing CM7 after install and replacing stock apps.

Open the archive in WinRAR, WinZip, Z7 whatever your fancy. Navigate to the System/apps directory, delete the .apks you want to replace. Careful now to take note of the names of the .apks you are replacing, I by default just simply renamed the new .apks the same name as the ones I removed. Didn't know if it would cause a jam up in the flash if I left the names unchanged. I simply copied the files I wanted (eg: Market, Maps and Places) from the gApp rom to my desktop and manually added them into the system/apps directory in the archive. For new 1st time users this is good and easy, for existing CM7 users, this means having to reflash your phone to stock and start over fresh from scratch with the CM7 rom. I think I see a bright future for myself in this.

"Two Thumbs Up"

Me and my wife have this rom and we can't send or receive mms (pictures or large messages) we applied metrooff and it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Did you wipe dalvik, wipe cache before flashing mms patch? And did you toggle signature before flashing?

Ive been running this rom for awhile now with everything working since day one, lovin it.

Hope that helps.:D
