Root [ROM][DEV][WIP] CyanogenMod 10 for the LG Spirit 4G

So I just decided to deal with replacement apps for the ones I wanted from stock i.e. memo/alarm clock/music,etc. Apollo is a lil messy with the lay out (but is growing on me), clock only goes to alarm set after selecting set alarm from a full screen clock image, and my gallery will play web videos in landscape if I enable rotation and YouTube works flawlessly. These are very minor issues that I'm gonna have to get used to lol. All that aside, cm10 is a super badass Rom!
 
Now as far as my speeds go look for yourself

The bottom 3 are with 4glte and Wi-Fi with 4g active

The top 4 are cm10 3g speeds then the very top is cm10 Wi-Fi

Huge difference on my end

On Wi-Fi cm10 is far superior in speed and performance, with 3g not so much, where as stock/katana/samurai 4g is magnificent all around really. Now I'm torn between a slow data jelly bean, and all around fast ics.
 
reporting some possible bugs/issues

i did 2 installs and second went better but still some probs.
heres what i found.

1. headphone icon not displayed when in use (not a big deal but can be helpful to detect if jack is working...maybe:p)

2. apps seem unstable, they keep force closing and freezing

3. gps not working at all

not sure what loki'd is but i used cmw touch to install
can anyone confirm these problems thanks guys almost there:D

My gps worked fine. I had to turn on the settings, but Google Now, Maps, Chrome, whatever worked. Apps would sometimes crash and unexpectedly close, but that was usually when my processor frequencies wouldn't stick and slip to 2024mhz. My phone doesn't like speeds above 1880ghz. I just recently flashed to Samurai to have my 4g back because I have no WiFi right now.

guys this rom is Work In Progress by no means is a complete ROM, just hang in there guys eventually it will get better.
 
No I get that, I'm just bringing attention to what all I've found that isn't working so it can be addressed.

loki'd refers to the program djrbliss blessed us with that patches the recovery and boot.imgs to bypass the signature checks on boot due the the locked bootloader. Thus my comments about that is on the Spirit you need to have flashed the patched CWMT for the reboot to recovery option not to fact reset your device as its not patched for 2nd-init recovery. make sense?? lol

Umm I have no clue wtf apps that even is. lol Currently, only worried with the basics, not 3rd party apps other than those included with gapps and maybe youtube & netflix since I/we already been messing with those, but with the intention of fixing video playback as a whole. So when we get video playback fixed w/o using any hacks, it will most likely fix playback with any other video apps as well. ;)
 
So I've noticed not much has been going on here (meaning the LG spirit forums) lately minus people talking about the updated network speeds, so I do a Google search for LG spirit roms (mind you since I've been an android user, I've been a die hard android forums user), but damn PG you are literally all over the web. I looked at like 6/7 pages all mentioning you and this build of your cm10 for the spirit. I can't wait till this is finished. I had to flash back to samurai due to the minor issues with 4G and some video playback options (Bluetooth was never really an issue with me) that were greatly missed on my part, but not a day goes by that I don't miss running this rom.
 
I've been trying to switch around the rails to get 4g working. But I can't find any information on how to do it. I even took apart frame work. jar and tried switching the ril smali files. If any one has any information on switching rils let me know
 
If you decompile framework.jar. you will find assorted ril.smali files for each manufacturer. And there is 2 one that's a uicc ril and one that's not. I believe that the lgequalcommuicc.smali is having either problems reading the slot or isn't meshing with the ril to read the slot. I could be wrong I'm not a dev. But I've been looking into it b c the 3g signal in my area sucks I'm always stuck on 1x. And its the only thing holding me back from using it
 
I wish we had a way to fix 4g. Its the only thing holding me back. I'm not familiar with ROM development but if there's anything i can do let me know. I do have programming and it experience and use Linux environments so i could serve as a bouncing board for thoughts and ideas
 
I'm still hoping the issues with this rom get fixed. I'm dying to run jelly bean on this device.
 
I'm sure he is when he's got the time. He is like literally all over the interwebs doing his things for many devices ya know. I'm sure he'll back around to this, at least I'm hoping he will.

yea, I just did official CWMR/T for the spirit, why would I stop now for?? ;)

I would cry if he stopped now! Lol...
PG the newest version of this is surprisingly smooth, quick as can be, plenty of available RAM while multitasking, an improvement to 3g speeds since last time I ran CM10 (1.04m down, 1.25m up) and just seems to be a final product minus the known issues. After running 4.0.4 for about 2 months, this latest version of CM10 seemed to definitely breathe new life into my Spirit. This thing is starting to become bad ass.
Anyone so far tested extensively Focal with our Spirits yet? I downloaded it last night so will be messing with it as much as I can.
