hey guys, I just tested the rom and it rocks. Is there any app out there that can reliably change system wide themes? surely there must be some app with tons of different themes to try. never really messed with those just to be safe because i know it's got to do with the framework resources apk, most of it looks pretty dope :)

I just want to get rid of the notification bar transparency because it's distracting when there's any kind of text in the back, change the separator's color so it's a little more subtle/darker, and change those toggle button icons to something a little more simple that I don't really have to look hard at to figure out what it is. It just feels like it's gonna punch me in the face haha :D

Sounds like you're just being anal lol jk.. I think the system wide theming is tricky since roms vary, but then I'm no dev so idk. Would be cool tho!

BTW Kanaida I bought your Esteem Optimizer and it worked really well and now it's just icing on the cake with this new ROM. :D Idk if I ever thanked you but here's one. Thanks! :P ****ing Chuck Norris. xD
 
lol yeah maybe a bit haha :), I was just curious if this was possible like it is in miui roms to change the system theme. Adw launcher has themes but it's only for Adw. I mean people make themes so surely there is an editor or themer. I just haven't found it. I just see these on roms
 
Yea, i wiped dalvic and cache. Ive used uotk with other phones, so I'm familliar with the process. Not sure why its not themeing what its supposed to

Its not just this rom, regular GS and stock does the same.

No.

When the phone is off to boot in to recovery, do this:

Hold the volume button (+/-) or (press the right in the middle of the volume keys to hold both +/- down at the same time). THEN press and hold power and both volume keys down.

When you feel a vibrate, RELEASE the power key KEEP holding down the voume keys still, until you see the 'reformat' screen load.

Once you see the reformat screen you CAN release the volume keys.

Tap the power button three times. (not fast, just press it once and you'll see the screen (text) change, press it again and it will change and press it once more total of (3). :)

Hope this helps a little. Also if you're loaded up into the os (home screen), you can boot into recovery (if you have gingerseteem rom installed) by holding down the power button and when the optoin screen pops up select recovery.

Depends. If you are flashing the rom from the stock lg rom , then you need to wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache. However if you are flashing from a custom rom to a custom rom like gingeresteem to gingeresteem extreme , then you only need to wipe partition cache and dalvik cache.
 
playful can u help me out i dl ur rom which i like but i wanted stock one back i did everything correctly as said and now i have problems with my 1st my gallery when i take a picture its there but its blank when u click on it nothing comes up but when i send it to people they get it weird 2nd my android market wont update and it takes nearly a long time to download ive followed steps that some people have been trying to show but still the same problem what can i do

No change, I could only get the window animations to change and the boot animation, the notification power buttons remain the same. It's fine for now I suppose. I guess it'll only be a matter of time before someone more dedicated can figure it out :P I'll deal with it hehe.
 
well to get the gallery working i went on 4shared and downloaded gallery3d and everything work is there a way to replace them and my market still wont update
 
Sweeeet. Flashed the rom and i'm oc'ed at 2016MHz. My phone is running flawlessly! Thanks to all those who made this possible =)
 
Ok just one question? I love everything about this rom but i noticed the stock memo widget is gone and i actually liked that and theres nothing in the market that sort of resembles it. Is there any widget that I don't know about that is equivalent to the stock memo one?

You could download and pull it off the system dump and install it :)

Hey I use the app QuickPic.. it's REALLY good. Loads fast and lets you include and exclude folders that show up. I used it on my Optimus M back when I had it and it was awesome, now on this phone it just flies. lol I highly recommend it over most stock photo browsers. Then again if you like the visual flair of the 3d then by all means I'm sure there are others you can use. ;)
 
Anyone else having battery issues since flashing gingersteem extreme? Haven't changed anything and battery is discharging way too quick. awesome ROM tho
 
One guy had a hard time believing that my battery is as good as it is but surprisingly, my battery is even better after flashing this rom. Have you calibrated the battery since installing the rom?
