Root [ROM] GingerSteem Extreme for LG Esteem MS910

Not bad, could be better. I've been using this ROM for a few days and noticed some things not right. I turn GPS off and the icon is still on the home screen. The big disappointment, bluetooth doesn't work right anymore. I can't connect to anything via bluetooth.

the icon you see is location, that only goes away when you switch to e911 mode for location settings. and bluetooth issues have been on and off, im sure its just a simple mistake easily forgotten about..
 
Is it just me, or does anyone else have the issue of downloading from the app store?
When I go to download things such as Dropbox or other apps that I previously had on my phone before the ROM, it tells me that the app is no compatible with my phone anymore?

Also the phone dialer screen is off as well ?

For market use ROM toolbox to change LCD density to 240.. then reboot..dialer don't know ..on stock as of now:thumbup:

You mean you are on stock? You mean you are on stock ROM?
I changed the LCD Display and it didn't help with the market, apps are still incompatible..

Idk if its just me or something i did but my MMS isn't working. The message just keeps trying to send and the person never gets it. I normally use the stock messenger but for what ever reason i DL'd the "Go SMS" app from the market. Made my changes to it. used it for a day, didn't like it. So I uninstalled, DL'd Handcent. same thing, didn't like it uninstalled. Now my MMS doesn't work. But to be honest i never sent a MMS message to begin with so i don't even know that it worked in the first place....looking for any help. Sorry for the short hand and probably spelling errors, I cut my finger off at work and relearning how to type without a index finger sucks.

Navigate to system/apps..find mms apk..delete it and its odex..the download..and install stock mms

OK, so I'm rooted (with CWM) on a stock ZVB and I would like to tryout GSE.
I have stuff like games, apps, pics, vids, and music on IntSD (and ExtSD).

I did a Backup to SD from CWM already, but what does that really backup?

If I install GSE I am supposed to do a wipe/factory reset, correct?
Will this erase all my IntSD stuff, correct?
Will my ExtSD contents be OK? Or do I need to remove it?

When I have GSE installed, can I do a recovery to get my stuff back, or will that screw with GSE?

I guess what my essential question is is when you install a ROM (any ROM) does that always reset your phone to like new condition where you have to re-install your personal "stuff" (as referenced above).

All the GingerSteem ROMs seam to say this:
WIPE DATA!!! (You do not need to wipe if already on GingerSteem!)
Where is GingerSteem?? And how can I be already on it if I'm trying to install it??
That's confusing, can someone please clarify.
Should I (how can I) install GS before I try any of the other ROMs built on GS (like GSE)?

-It IS a true snapshot/picture of everything on your phone(apps/data/text/call log/ect)

-Wipe data/factory reset-wipe cache partition-then go to advanced & Wipe Dalvik Cache(always do this when flashing a ROM)

-Yes

-Yes & NO

-No it will not(just make a backup of GSE and if you want you can swirch between the two using the restore option in CWM Recovery.

-Yes & No I used TB(Titanium Backup)https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...Osprkd-WA&sig2=8HUuBFTM_iMG9AeGQnwwIw&cad=rja as it backs up ll user & system apps so when you flash a new ROM it restores all apps to your app drawer(passwords + logins included).
All you have to do is just drag a particular app to whatever page you want it to.

-Their is a GSEII(PG just prob did not change the text of the ROM when it is loading yet;)) Play it safe install all new ROMS via instruction above:)
