Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM7 build 2013-03-03

Call it a shrunk down version. Same apps and code. It's just the apps have, providers, and another part that's in the packages section of the code, have had the extra languages and not used images removed. So if you gave any of those apps to someone who had a lower resolution (mdpi or ldpi) screen it would have nothing to load.

is this based on the version w/ or w/o the boot sound? is there any reason to expect issues not found on the "bloated" version?

also, how does this compare to CM7 TG-Reloaded?

thanks.

Well, it's updated and the building process was streamlined. We have had many reports that the ROM is more stable and smoother. And I am one of the reporters. Chairshot did an awesome job with testing out various settings and device files that made major improvements.

It will have the bootsound by default, but you could change it to what ever you want. I put it in there as a proof of concept. Beyond that, it shouldn't have any issue as it runs fine on my old MT.

Let me know.

I was running the 12/28 rom and decided to try the test rom from post 1561. Well ever since I flashed it my WIFI is not working, it will not connect to anything and I keep getting messages that the process is not responding and to force close or wait.
I have tried re-flashing, I have done full reset, wiped everything cache and davlik cache, but still same prob. I tried flashing the 3/13 rom and same prob. I even tried going back to the 12/28 rom but still had same prob.

Any suggestions?? It's got me pretty frustrated....

That's weird. It might be the SDcard. I know it doesn't sound right, but it can goof up anything. The fact that it happens on multiple ROMs suggests that it is on the phone side.

If you have another SDcard, try that first. If not, backup the sdcard and format it with Windows. I've heard that the phone formatting doesn't do it right.

My next suggestion would be to flash a full Stock ROM. You could find one on the MTDEV site. The UNROOT will replace the recovery, the Stock one won't.

Long story...short.... VM sent me a new phone. I tried everything suggested but it would not connect to wifi. Flashed back to stock ROM again before calling VM and going thru tech support and they said it is a phone hardware prob. I had to argue a little bit but they sent me a new MT for free.

Crazy thing is later that day I got the wifi to connect at my sister-in-law's house, but it still would not connect to my wifi when I got home. I ended up resetting up my home wireless connection and then bam.... it connects like nothings wrong.

Anyway VM already sent me the knew phone and got it yesterday. This is my 3rd replacement( other 2 invovle submersion in water) and so far this one has the best touchscreeen response of the 4 MT's I have had. Also it looks brand new, unlike my last one which I am pretty is sure was a refurb.

Thanks to all who offered help!

Next update will has HDMI work. I love this rom, can't get HDMI work to watch Netflex on 50" HD TV.

Why can't this rom use the Froyo Kernel?

It uses a modified FroYo kernel. The problem is in the framework. That and most of us aren't real programmers. g60 got close on this and his AOSP ROMs, but couldn't get it to work.

I have posted the updated ROM with the security update in it. It's at the new site and I'll have to get in touch with chairshot to get the OP updated

For now just go to the normal site and look for the updated ROM.

I installed this ROM twice and keep getting 2 problems:

1) Virtual keyboard occasionally stops working until I reboot. Keyboard pops up, but no text is input. Problem on both SwiftKey and Android keyboard.

2) Random reboots.

Any ideas on what I could do to fix this?

First of all, what version are you using. Then, did you check the checksum of what you downloaded? On the old site there was a script that would automatically show the md5checksum.

Sorry, I'm using MTDEV CM7 20130303 build (no bootsound), and I did run md5checksum from my computer after transferring to sd card.

I'm using the same version as you. Had the same exact problem. Wiped and re-installed. Much better now but still happens every now and then. I'll live with it though. Much better than stock Froyo.

That was one of the last ones that chairshot made. I didn't incorporate the tweeks that he put in sence 20121015. I did add in the security fix that MikeRL posted about in the latest upload. If I remember corectly I put it in the dl.mtdev.us pack of stuff.

I need time to sit down and look over all of that stuff and see where chairshot is......

Hello I recently downloaded and flashed the latest version of this ROM. Everything works great and smoothly except for the LED light. The LED light seems to only work when i charge my phone. For everything else however it wont. It doesnt flash when I get a text or phone call or anything. Ive tried using apps that control the LED light and they still wont work. It only turns on when I charge my phone

I can look into this when I get home. There is a setting for the notifications LED control. Have you looked at the CyanogenMod Settings? It's in there somewhere.

Yes i tried playing around with that as well, still no luck. I tried setting it so Handcent sms would turn LED light on for all events, still did not work. I even tried ticking the setting to make the LED light always flash, still did not work. If you could find a soulution it would be of great help to me. I like using the LED light just to quickly check if theres anything important on my phone without having to turn the screen on

Also on my device videos are very glitchy. They dont play very smoothly. Ive tried using differnt video playing apps and they all do the same thing

You can thank GB and the hardware for that. I have tried different things on the MT and Evo4G and they both have the same problem. ICS handles it better, but still a little choppy.
