Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

New build is up:

Download via the BacksideUpdater in app drawer of recent builds or via
Settings>>CyanogenMod Settings>>System>>Check for ROM updates ;)

Or for you diy types:
BACKside-IHO-VM670-01252012.zip
md5sum 39e907628e8325371dcf3fe1819594b4

Note - There is an error in the logic checking for new updates, it treats updated phones as if there is a new update available.
Flash this zip file to fix it after flashing the ROM:

(note - turn off signature verification, I didn't sign it due to system signing issues)

GreenMachineTheme-01252012.zip

Changes:
-- Synced with CM:
---- ICS transistions and animations backported to Gingerbread
---- lockscreen alignment <right> fixed
---- Option to lock volume keys when in silent mode
---- Fixed race condition in notification dropdown swipe-to-dismiss function, shouldn't freeze anymore
---- Fixed automatic timezone selection in Hawaii (had to throw that one in the for all you frozen users)
-- New version of BacksideUpdater installed:
---- Checks download status, checks to see if download has begun, and if complete based on file size
---- Checks MD5 sum, automatically checks against the manifest's posted md5 (takes a while, be patient)
---- Cleaned up the gui a bit, still needs work (functionality first ;))

Thanks to Blarf, BobZhome, mrg666, tdmcode, thekraven, LeslieAnn, kermikalelite, Whyzor, bigsupersquid, the CM team, the AOSP team, everyone who tests, and a whole lot more! ;)

Jerry I used the updater. It couldn't download it at first and said try again. I did and it downloaded. I rebooted to recovery, went to the download folder and it was the 01202012 update. I'm sure it is the one I just downloaded because it has the correct date and time. I downloaded with my laptop and got the 01252012 build. I'll try the updater again.

Same problem haha. I used the updater and was confused when I got another 1202012 build.

I just tried again and when it starts to download it says save as and it has the last build number, 01202012. I probably didn't notice that the first time. Do we need to change that manually to the correct build before we save? I got the correct build when I d/l from laptop.

Now it works. :) Are we supposed to get a message that the MD5 has been checked? I couldn't tell if it had or not.

Not this time, that's a feature of the new BacksideUpdater you get with this release of the ROM.

After this install, you will automatically be able to check the downloaded update's MD5, regardless of how you download it.
--If you download it via the updater app, the app will check automatically.
--If you download via PC or browser link, just be sure it's in the /sdcard/download directory, and the updater app will check the MD5 sum for you when you open the app up and click the button! ;)

Note- there is a logic bug in the updater, will have a flashable fix up later.

common jerry post 999 give us 1000
I just had to take that bait! ;)

You can use Market Fixer from the Market, works for some.

You can use TitaniumBackup (paid version) and integrate the dalvik into system.

You can use links2sd to move all app files to the sdcard (requires partitioning).

You can delete /system/etc/init.d/01mvdalvik, then uninstall Market updates, then clear Market cache and data, then reboot into recovery and wipe cache/dalvik then reboot and sign into the Market.

Or you can wait till Google fixes the Market. ;)

So, this is to fix the insufficient space dealio right? I've been working with AndyOp... and It's just not working out (the phone Andy is great lol)... anything. So, I can't find this "market fixer" app, but I found Super User Update Fixer. Is this the same thing? Will this help? Thanks.

That's just for corrupted binaries which happens from time to time when they release updates. I swear by link2sd it's the whole reason I rooted in the first place and I never get the issues reported.

I goofed and left an improper logic condition in the BacksideUpdater. It doesn't check to see if the current build equals the latest build, only if it's older. If it is the same date, it acts like there's an update available. Attached is a flashable zip file that will fix it. Since I made it a system file, I can't just upload the update apk, it could cause problems with future updates after future ROM installs, so you'll have to flash this fix in recovery. Sorry for the pita. ;)

FYI- With this version of the BacksideUpdater, you can download the ROM file anyway you like, and still use the app to check it's integrity.

--Simply download it to /sdcard/download via the phone, your PC, dropbox, whatever, just be sure you put it in the download directory on your sdcard.
--Open the app, and check for updates.
--It will determine if you have begun downloading the ROM zip file, and if it has finished downloading based on the file size (if you have a frozen download, you'll have to manually delete it for now).
--It will then check the MD5 sum to insure there was no corruption during the download process. ;)

Just updated to the 01252012 build, and am having serious issues with Wifi. As in, it keeps turning itself off, so I cannot connect to anything.

And when it's not turning itself off, it cannot detect any wifi networks, nor can I manually connect to any.

Anyone else with this issue?

Before we go through this again, please list the exact steps you took when flashing the latest build. ;)

So, how does this link2sd work? I've got the app. I just can't figure out what to do. And could you explain to me the behind the scenes of the cache partition and stuff?

I followed the instructions for a fresh install, rather than an update. Downloading the zip for flashing, as well as gapps. I did the exact same process I've done before.

Well... might help if I'd actually moved the zip file onto my sd card. Just flashed the 01182012 build by mistake. I'll retry, and report back. I knew something was off...
