Been on my mind awhile now, but does anyone else have this issue.. I cannot overclock my CPU at ALL. I am running the 4/9/2012 build.. I've run all the previous builds for the last few months as well. This is a newer phone that came with 2.2.2. Anytime I set the CPU to overclock (at any speed, even 729Mhz), it will lock up and reboot sooner or later. Usually navigation will cause it to reboot 99.9% of the time. Is my phone just not made to overclock? Seems like so many of you overclock without any issues, although maybe you are not using any intensive programs either. I have tried ONDEMAND, SMARTASSV2 and a few other governors without any change in behavior.
On a side note, GPS works great on the phone and always has. Picks up the signal very quickly.
Every unit is different and some do have processors that don't overclock which is why they have them set to 600mhz rather than 7 or 8. Also make sure your not using an app to overclock and you're using the built in options.
I am so proud of myself, I learned how to do a custom boot animation and get it on my phone! check this out, I got it over at xda.
It's so syfi terminal awesomeness.
I keep rebooting my phone to watch it lol.
It's tweaked sonny's ICS theme + framework-res.apk morph with some more tweaks and lockscreen + Clockopia.ttf( Roboto).
Here it is if you wanna try it:ICS Theme and Lockscreen.zip
Install theme and apply it with Theme Chooser. Aply morph with MetaMorph. Replace Clockopia.ttf in /system/fonts.
you got a link to that? because I like it
The theme keeps reverting back to rom and have to go back into theme chooser
Hmmm, never had that problem and I'm running for more than 6 months without reinstall.
You didn't link it to /sd-ext, did you.
Yes, it has been tested and confirmed to work on the newer screens.TBH I was getting extremely antsy without my BACKside update fix. This should keep me OK for a bit... Also does the CWM-Green Recovery work for the new screens?
No space on your sdcard? Back up some files to PC, or if you don't have a PC to DropBox or some such site. Then remove them, download the ROM, install it, then delete the ROM zip, and re-download your stuff from DropBox.Aw, bummer for me on the update. I have no space to do it.
Do you think Jerry will screw that up?
I've had this happen once or twice over the months. I usually just wait a minute or so, then try to wake the phone again. It's most likely due to some background process struggling with the low processor speed when the screen is off.Credit is due to the person who made it here.
It was made for the desire hd though, so I had to tweak it to fit our optimus v screen.
So i uploaded the file so you do not have to go through the trouble.
Also to add to the discussion,
I have not been able to overclock at all. The settings do not stay after I back out and go back in. The governors do not seem to work for me. Oh well.
In case my post was missed:

I have the latest version and it still does happen. It is very strange. I noticed it seems to happen more often if I use the buttons to wake the screen instead of the power button. Then after unlocking the phone, it freezes and the battery needs removed.
While it still happens, it's no where near as often.

Didn't even cross my mind. It probably did because it's auto link
