You must have installed the 04012012 build, better known as the April Fools build. ;)

You can check by going into Settings>>About phone>>Build ID or Build date

Delete /system/media/AprilFools.zip or update to the latest build: 04092012
Just open your app drawer and launch the BacksideUpdater. ;)

Hahaha... I have that build and figured the static was just part of the awesomeness of the rom. Didn't even think twice about it.

Hi,
I've flashed the latest ROM, completely clean with no apps or data restored other than Contacts, MD5 sum checked on the SD. And I'm finding that the in-call volume on a wired headset is low versus stock. It seems that volume settings above the middle don't actually produce any increase in volume.

I did a search and it looks like a user had this problem a while back, without any resolution; I would post the link but am too new to have permission to do so, it is post #2310 on this thread by Idun Box. Any thoughts?

Love the ROM by the way, a vast improvement over stock.

Lol I had that build too. Then I updated and saw a different loading screen. I remember first loading my phone I'm like crap!! I broke my phone!!! Then I realized that the static was just the loading screen after waiting awhile it booted and I was like whew.....

I thought I had a close call ha.

Talking about Lego... been building a bunch of the old set I had as a youngster and placing them on Ebay.
I have all but one of those space sets and a number of the other sets. I gave all of my LEGO sets to my kids though.

Some nice looking plants too.

I still have an entire medieval village with castle, two dragons and about a dozen knights. The rugrats love having a grownup around who still remembers how to play!

This is a known bug in IHO/CM. Some report that turning the volume all the way down then back up, all during a call, will fix it temporarily.

JS, is there any way for me to help with getting this debugged by going somewhere else. Or am I out of luck given the Optimus V is an unofficial port.

As a side note for anyone else who might have this issue, wired headset volume seems fine with quattrimus alpha8. Looks fantastic too, but not otherwise functional enough yet to be a daily driver for me.

Not to complain, just to document: the headset mic does not work with Voice Search; Voice Search "listens" from the phone mic instead (which doesn't work too well if it's in your pocket!). Seems to work correctly with calls.

Some searching I did suggests this is, like the headset volume gain, also a CM7 issue, not BACKside specific.

Sorry man, that's a well documented issue. You're correct in that it's not BACKside specific, but sadly it's unlikely to ever get fixed until the entire codebase makes the jump to ICS. It already works on the ICS alpha builds. Now if they could get that darn camera to work, BACKside might be trouble! :D

Wanted to post that I absolutely love this ROM I've been using it since January, and nothing has been able to replace it for me. So, thanks Jerryscript for making such a badass ROM. This has made using my phone such a dream. Not to mention this has also gotten me more into phones, and android in general. My uncle (who I look up to like a father) is a tech genuis, and I can gladly say I know things about android that even he doesn't know. So thanks :)

I have the latest version and it still does happen. It is very strange. I noticed it seems to happen more often if I use the buttons to wake the screen instead of the power button. Then after unlocking the phone, it freezes and the battery needs removed.
While it still happens, it's no where near as often.

Also my battery issues for the most part are gone, thanks for the help with that.

After finally getting the BACKside ROM on my OV, I love it. I can't imagine using anything else now...

Question: How do I get the default BACKside wallpaper image (the one with the green clouds)? I changed it to something else, but it doesn't appear in my wallpaper gallery.

It's listed in Cyanogen Wallpaper.
