Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Jerry,

Not sure why, but I'm missing incoming calls. The phone isn't even ringing half the time, and the missed call icon isn't even showing up till I reboot the phone. None of the apps I have installed deal with calls or sms. I've checked the incoming call volume and its as high as it will go. I even checked the ringtone and it works just fine when I go to set it.

Should I revert back to a previous version, or will this be fixed in a new version soon? Let me know if you need more info from me and I'll get it to you. I'm running the latest version of BACKside with the latest version of your Green Recovery.

Just curious, did you install the security update(radio update)? I've noticed mine is doing this a lot more also. I never really had this problem before but the last couple weeks I miss a LOT of calls. My phone never even rings.

If I remember correctly, Jerry does not change any files that deal with the calling. So if you're experiencing problems it is likely just your local service

No, I didn't add the security update. If this isn't a rom or hardware issue, I may have to change carriers. I can't miss calls from my kids, which is specifically why I have my phone. :(

I keep a backup of a Froyo ROM. If I have issue's that I'm not sure are phone or ROM related all I need to do is drop back to the Froyo backup(it also has the activate app, which is why I backed it up in the first place). If the problem goes away, it was a ROM issue. If not it's a phone issue.

As others have noted, I do not mess with the phone itself, other than to add new CM code, which has primarily involved the T9 dialer. Nothing has been changed on the phone itself, in fact we use the stock ril libraries and associated binaries (ril = radio interface layer, it's your cell phone itself).

Returning to stock for a day will help determine if something has been messed up on your custom install. If the stock ROM works without issue, and you still want to run a custom ROM, do a backup of your apps with Titanium Backup, boot into recovery and do a full wipe/format and then reinstall the ROM and gapps.

Although you may not have installed apps that directly affect the phone, many apps gain access to it, and may affect it. You can search through your apps paying attention to the permissions each has. You may find one is causing issues, and you can disable the phone related permissions on that app, or uninstall it to see if it is really the culprit.

Download LBE privacy guard. It will allow you to have control over the permissions.
It's shocking just what these app can do.

Ugh my Twitter account got hacked and sent out spam private messages and I never access Twitter from anything else other than the phone. I'm thinking of doing a full wipe.

I did.

On a happy note link2sd updated today and I had a nerdgasm. New feature where it scans your partition for apps and relinks them. It's designed specifically for rom changes and updates. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
