Root [ROM][WIP] CyanogenMod 7 | Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) | Current Version: 09122011

I would love to switch from Icarus, but no MMS is just not doable for me. PLEASE stick it out and finish an MMS fix Issac. If you do I will send you cookies.
 
Remember all isaac and others is not getting paid to do none of this and he took out his own time to provide us with all the roms and support and the only thing is mms is not working is no biggie, all the major stuff has been done, so i rather have my phone running fast and smooth with no lag and no mms instead of having a laggy 2.1 with mms working, but also icarus is a fully working rom with mms working, so if anyone wants a rom with mm working and faster than 2.1 i suggest icarus v1.1...

This post is not to bash anyone in anyway and not direct to anyone, just giving my opinion about alot of things.:cool:
 
So do live wallpapers and Angry Birds not work on this rom? Whenever I download Angry Birds it gets to where it says "Installing" and my phone reboots and live wallpapers are just accessible. I don't see an option for them at all.
 
mines runs good, and i have it install to the phone it self and not to the sdcard.


Angry birds doesn't install correctly. After it's installed from the Market, go into Applications –> Manage Apps and move Angry Birds to the phone to play.

I installed it but hwo do I connect to Cricket's network??? When I goto Settings Wireless/Networks there is no option for Cricket or Metro...

Also it always says Roaming Indicator Off and I don't why it always says that in the Status Bar.

Edit: I got it to connect by turning the phone off for ten seconds then turning it back on. It automatically cconnected without me doing anything.

i'm sorry if that came off wrong. i was just saying exactly what i said.

if you need to ask what cm7 is then you havent been in the ascend modding game long enough to really understand what you are getting into.

granted, rooting and flashing are a dream on this phone compared to other androids on the market right now but if you are going to flash i really recomend flashing icarus1.1 first so that in case something does go wrong you have cwm (Clockwork mod) 2.1.5.8 and can restore your 2.1 system easier. since icarus is a stripped down version of 2.1 and everything works if you do it right it's the best place to start imo.

CM7 was my first flash on the Ascend and with Android, but I've messed with modding and flashing RAZRs b4 tho. Flashing the Ascend with CWM is a breeze compared to the moto's lol
 
Please help... I was installing this but messed up and now my phone won't boot. It's stuck on the huawei logo. If anyone can help me before I have to get a new phone I will greatly appreciate it. My email is. Vemo@live.com it may take a little while to reply as I am currently without a phone. I was in the recovery boot when I installed the gapps.zip but I could not find the 2.3 I cleared the cache and the dalvik cache the boot and the system and data in the optional field and now I can't get to anything. I have a clockworkmod recovery 3.0.0.5 can anyone help me? I'm sorry about the long post I just really need help

just put the .zip from isaacs wiki on your sd card using a card reader. you can also use adb to push through to cwm or (if you followed directions to the T) restore your previous rom. at worst follow this thread to flash back to stock....

Yea I still have my V3 & V3m lol, the V3 is still all modded out & setup for AT&T's gophone crap lol. Think I restored the V3m with intents to sell it since it was a sprint cdma phone.
 
seriously people, he does all this work for FREE. it's a real hassle going to collage and working for FREE. be patient!

yup, I'm not a patient man but I realize n respect ppl like Isaac n dont pressure em. He will post the latest build when he gets it done n has time too ;)
 
Now here are a couple issues I have been having,

1) as I seen someone else mention too, I have a Roaming indicator notice that I cant get rid off.

2) When I had Better Keyboard enbled it seem to lag/freeze while I was typing, esp if a msg was being received. Doesnt seem as bad with the Andriod keyboard. Think this is the app itself, the fone itself, or maybe sumtin to do with cm7??

1. the roaming indicator message is also on froyo+ for some reason. no option to turn off either. i actually like it better than the metropcs that was there so it doesn't bother me.

2. seems to happen with all keyboards i tried (talkback, BK7&8, KeyPurr) idk why but the android board isn't too bad in landscape mode.

The android keyboard is a little too laggy for me (I text really fast!) lol
