By the way, has anyone installed ADW EX on their phones? I now LOVE adw on this thing, but I don't know if all the other bells and whistles that come with EX would slow this thing down. I really like the 4D app drawer though!

i have it on mine & it runs smooth, you could add a theme to it to make it even better.
 
Am I able to delete my stock SMS app? I had GOSMS and constantly got double text messages and sent double text messages even if I disabled everything and force closed the stock. Switched to Handcent and have the same problem.

GoSMS and most other (I believe just about all, couldnt tell you which ones don't) use the stock SMS app to send and receive.. Make sure that notifications are off in stock sms (open up messaging, hit menu / settings / and make sure notifications is unchecked) Dupes have ALWAYS been a problem with metropcs ever since i've had them.. many other people have the same issue.. not just android/rom related.. does it on dumbphones too.. sometimes i'll go days without dupes, other times it gets pretty crazy..

Well, I don't think Huawei would ever release Android 2.3 on the Ascend. So, I took it upon myself to try and get it on there. I'm currently releasing builds (should be beta stage, now) of CM7 (Android 2.3.4).

I had cm7 on my ascend bt there was no market..
How do I fix
 
I have flashed and reflashed cm7 to my huawei ascend. I have even flashed cm7rc1 via rom manager to see if maybe I made in error during flashing, but that version didn't even boot, however my problem is that cm7 operates fine but if at any point I needed to turn the phone off maybe in order to flash the metropcs fix, reboot into recovery, or even when I overclock it to 672 it will restart and just be stuck on the blue huawei ascend screen, the one before the blue cm7 screen. The only way I have found to get it back working is to boot into recovery and wipe everything then flash cm7 yet again.
 
Im having technical difficulties right now my ascend it isnt one of those lazy ascend either,But ever since ive flashed the new "PG"cm7 after a while my phone has been randomly force closing on my home launchers!?And when my phone rings it vibrates first then the screen darkens then it shows who's calling but by that time i miss calls!?And right now i just tried to flash back to stock and tha phone just stays on tha white "Huawei"screen anybody know whats going on??
 
Hey PG, I had a question about your ROM. Not that I don't like your boot screen, I wanted to try a few other ones using Boot RANDimation, and I overwite the boot animation in /system/media, and yet I still have the cyanogenmod 7 animation. Is there a way for us to customize this? Am I putting the animation in the wrong location? Thanks

thats where I put em, that app must not be overwriting it. Try changing it out tith root explorer or something similar.

what i did was change the name of the new bootanimation to bootanimation.zip like the original to overwrite it using Root Explorer. also did the same with the audio. ok i see you got it. kool...
 
So, PG, I see that you have your Ascend up for sale and you are working on CM7 for the Ascend 2. Does that mean we're at the end of the line with the original Ascend? (say it isn't so lol)

ehh maybe not, my ascend repo is kinda wacked atm, but once I get it all fixed up and building again, I can still build for the ascend, but will have to rely on others to test before releases. Releases will be further apart unfortunately.

If you could supply a bit more information(CARRIER,CURRENT O/S),& any other info that you think could be helpful & someone here will jump in & get you running smooth again.
