Are you talking about that link for MetrOFF? Yes after a couple reboots just go into recovery after putting it on your sd card and go to "install zip from sd" then to "choose zip from sd" select the file and click yes. Once its done go back to the main and reboot the phone and your done.
 
I need some good advise. I currently have the Ascend and have flashed every CM7 available, and love them all by the way, but I have been toying with the idea of getting the Ascend 2, any insight or info on this new phone is greatly appreciated.

My friend has a ascend as well. however any build after CM7 Ascend 05072011 signed.zip doesn't work for his phone. I am not sure why, for some reason I am expecting a hardware issue. But if you have any feed back this to where maybe I can install your latest build that would be great. Thank you for any input you might have.

not sure, could be a number of reasons for it.
 
Every time I flash cm7 my phone will call someone but on my phone it doesn't show me calling them is there a way to fix this?

ghost phone, lol but go to settings and disable trackball wake up if your phone is calling peoples while its lock, but other than that i have no clue.

The Ascend 2 looks much better than the original Ascend. I am toying with the idea of buying one next myself, or the Optimus C. I believe the new Ascend actually has a GPU, 3.5mm jack, and 600mhz not OC'd. If anyone has one, can they give their experience with it? Does live wallpaper actually work without slowing the system down to a screeching halt?

Ill never understand why they didnt bump up the processor speed to atleast 800.

I know! It seems a lot of these prepaid phones on the lower spectrum are all at 600mhz. At least they can be overclocked.. And I'm sure with a GPU, the Ascend 2 will be able to do laps around the original.
 
The Ascend 2 already has a couple of ROMs, overclocked, and one has multi touch working. PG is working on CM7 for it. I think it's a good option now, I was a bit down on it at first, but with the support it's getting, and after seeing how it feels at the store, it seems like a pretty nice phone. I like it better than the Optimus.

anyone have any trouble flashing the 0727 build? i downloaded it from teh wiki and flashed it and it would not even let me install from sd card. said it was bad

corrupted file re download it again, also check your other post, i posted link for the 0727 build you was looking for...;)

Hey, sorry I've missed responses for a couple days, thanks for the input on Ascend 2. I did go ahead and get one, seems ok so far, rooted, but not flashed yet, been seaching thread for something from PG, I trust his work. The only root I found caused a boot loop at first, but after it settled in seems ok. I do love the look and feel, 5mp camera is awsome. I hope it turns out as good as my first Ascend, fingures crossed
 
I just so happen to literally stumble apon this. Past coupe days I have switch to a couple different builds. Giving them all another shot. (My phone has decided to stick with BobZ's 0708 729 build) Few weeks ago I installed the USB drivers on my computer. But the debugging driver would never install while on BobZ's 0708. Well after switching between some builds, PG's CM7.2 being the last one before I switched back to 0708, when running 7.2 and plugging my phone into the computer that one driver that wouldnt install installed. Well then I switched back to BobZ's 0708 build which even on the wiki page says "USB Broken", and when I plugged my phone in still the debugging didnt work. UNTIL I toggled the Debugging option in Development. And now it works all the time! SO if you want to have USB Debugging working on BobZ's 0708 729 build just install the drivers on your computer, flash PG's 7.2 so all the drivers install play with 7.2 for a while and then switch to BobZ's! Ahaha
 
The 729mhz build? That the one with the "broken usb" The other 2 builds the usb debugging works I believe. I dont know Ive never used them
