Because it's simple. It's called "Coding". If you do it, You can do it for a company, For yourself, Etc. The work speaks for itself. It's not rocket science.

So he said it? Does that mean you had to point it out again? What was the purpose of that besides to get people here wanting to comment?

You tell us to stop but, You posted something that would get a reaction. Cause and effect.

You don't have to state the obvious, Doing so will only cause people to become irate. We've all discussed and taken into consideration all things with these roms, We don't need them to be constantly thrown around like a beer bong at a college party.

For me, I'm just lucky we've got people like Isaac and Pip. Who cares if it's not Huawei Certified?

I'm not trying to rip into you, just info you. Any one with the skills and or desire to learn can build a ROM for any android phone. The vanilla src code is publicly available to everyone. Even the CM src is available as is the src for isaac's CM7 for the ascend that I even compiled n running as we speak (compiled, not modified still all isaacs work lol).

i dont work for a computer company no more but i still fix and build computers, also i flash xbox 360,s and psp's and i never work for sony...

Need to throw my 2 cents here. Huawei made a phone for Cricket, it was popular, so Sprint asked for it too. Sprint got it, but with 2.2 and slightly higher specs. Huawei has done ZERO to support this phone, which has sold VERY well for both Cricket and Metro. Just like I have the option to tell Microsoft FU and use Firefox and Ubuntu on my computer, I have the option of using AFTERMARKET software on my phone. The fact that Issac, Pip and their entire team saw fit to help us out by creating these ROMs is, as Mal Reynolds would say, a kindness. I don't care who coded it, if it makes my phone better, I will use it and support those that created it. If Huawei got off their collective backsides and actually supported the customer base that got them where they are, I would be just as vehement in my support for them. They have not, end of story, dance with the one that brung ya....

That's all I was trying to do. Provide info and maybe something that others may not have thought about. And got ripped.
I've seen a lot of threads about how nice this forum is, and until today I thought it was. Now I wonder even if I should stop even trying to help anyone on here. There was NO reason for multiple people to rip into me for one word.

the hacker word didnt concern me at all. If it wasnt for hacker we wouldnt have near as much as we have now. Its hacker that created Android to start with lol, they just happen to be employed with google lol.

What got me start is how you said isaac and pip went about doing it, which was incorrect for as CM is concern. Now Icarus is a cooked rom not built from source, but a modded stock 2.1 just like the TOE. You were just slightly incorrect with your info as isaac corrected you and I added to it. No offense was intended trust me, if I intended to offend you would most def know it lol.

Peace out. Great vocabulary. Can't take the heat, Don't start cooking in the kitchen. You could of just not said anything and this wouldn't of happened. Now you are upset. Well, That's life.

Isaac can call himself whatever he wants, He can say whatever he wants. I'm sure he knows what he means when he does so. You don't have to translate for us.

Being helpful isn't being helpful when you create problems.

We are really nice here. We just take care of our own. Isaac and Pip being part of that. I'd defend these people busting their butts for nothing to bring us these great roms, I'd do that any day of the week and with any person on here. ^.^

I will be the first to apologize if I got your connotation wrong. I get upset when people lump "Hackers" into one group and dump on them. It hurts the entire tech community. If I misread you, then apology extended.

For me it was a pretty fast boot. Eventually too as Isaac had said, Once I'd rebooted it a few times it actually started moving pretty darn fast too! I was like O.O Zing!
 
Oh and I am truly sorry if it seemed like I was attacking. To anyone in here, I don't mean to appear that way but, So many show that they are ungrateful for what these developers do. I see it so often, I can't help but be upset.

I would like to appologize about my words on this thread. Being a computer technician, I do not use the word "Hacker" as someone who writes virus's or other malicious code. I use it as someone who modify's software for to make it better for themselves and/or others.
Thank you PlayfulGod for seeing my main point in my post.
