links on the homescreen to vdeos on the card.

There are file managers that have this feature. For example, I use "Root Explorer" which allows me to long press on a video then select "create shortcut" and add the shortcut to my home screen.

There's a non root version of "Root Explorer" simply called "Explorer" that should also have this feature.

I can confirm that Solid Explorer can also do this (with Nova launcher managing my desktops).

It's not something I want (I like my desktops clean), but I tried it just now and it worked.

Changing icons? That may depend on what launcher you use.

Need Maildroid Support

I've emailed maildroid support but have had no response. Maybe he will respond here or maybe someone will have an answer for me.

1. What happened with the update to make Google happy?

2. My Norton Privacy report says the Maildroid shares device information for data mining and is unsure of the app should be trusted. What news here?

3. I am stick and need help and have had no response from Maildroid email:
Re: Help! Frustrated trying to redo on new phone
to Maildroiddev@gmail.com Sep 12, 2019
Hello? Help!
I've changed phones a lot and I have a lot of email accounts. I do not want to redo my maildroid every time and not even sure I know how to. As a result, I have not really been on email and have not had access to my email other than gmail, which is junk, for some time. I need to retrieve some legal documents from email I can't remember how to access since my tech guy wiped out my seamonkey that I had carefully set up and backed up so I have nothing, even though I had tried to preserve data from now closed accounts. Therefore, reimporting my files from my previous maildroid is necessary.

The problem is, when I try the import function, it says the list is empty. I know that I both backed up and copied the files before wiping previous phones. Also, I have a tablet with a setup that can't be used because it is defective and has no memory available despite what us deleted. (On this new phone, while I have sd xats space, the internal memory is full. I hope it is possible to operate off of the sd card.)
I've attached copies of the directory files I have on this phone. Plus, there are the ones to be gotten from the tablet, though the tablet itself does not work. I am not sure if the working files are on the tableyts card or internal memory. In addition, I have lots of copies of these files on my laptops and backup drive, perhaps even of older setup with the old files that I was trying to save despite not having access to those accounts any more.

The question is, how do I reestablish this data into a working maildroid app without having to rein put anything. Also, how much internal data is required?

Btw, I did attach screenshots of all my maildroid files. I can email to whomever can help me.

SD Card Galaxy J7

Well it's not that ridiculous. It's not a simple task like changing the name of a folder, encrypting the media is changing the underlying file system itself.
If you don't have enough free storage in your J7 to back everything up off the microSD card, do you have access to a computer? Remove the card and mount it in the computer or use a USB cable or a wireless solution like AirDroid to copy all the data off the card; then go through the encryption process and restore your data. If you don't have access to a computer or even an external drive, depending on bandwidth speed you can use online storage as a backup instead.
Basically, you should be backing up all your data anyway. Look into doing regular, full backups using Samsung's SmartSwitch utility:

Is Europe (UK,etc) just as

In short, YES! there's way too much deliberately over sensitive Snow-Flakery going on. I'm just as offended by someof the silly anti free-speech antics of students and others with 'No Platforming' of speakers, in case someone says something they don't like. If someone has a cogent argument, I'll listen, even if (or especially) if I disagree. We all need to be open to new ideas and facts.

Do i need to root my phone in order to install custom ROM?

I have a Xiaomi Mi 4 phone. android version is 7.1.2 and my phone manufacturer is not likely to release android 8 update for my model. So i plan to install android 8 using custom rom. I read steps to install different custom ROM's and i have some doubts.
Do i need to root my phone in order to install custom ROM or is if sufficient if i just unlock bootloader and install TWRP recovery? Please note rooting phone is a step mentioned AFTER unlocking bootloader and installing TWRP recovery in order to root phones but i am just wondering if this rooting step is necessary at all if my purpose is only installing custom ROM.

General speaking it depends on the Rom you install. Some come pre rooted and others allow options to choose from. TWRP is a custom recovery and is also in active development. On you first boot into TWRP it will ask for r/w permissions which is necessary when installing a custom rom. After that youll see some options. I whole hearty agree that before you continue. any further make a back up before you continue. make sure every box is checked (partitions) and external storage (sdcard or flash drive OTG) there are othere options to compress and rename but you can learn that later. For now just back up to external storage. Once this is done your not completely out of the woods yet but almost. The next step is to follow spec order of the developers instuctions as Im sure you already know. If TWRP apon exit requests to install su/binarys do not install at least that is my experience.

Please help me on how to update my htc incredible 2

But since there are no updates for that phone the options are:

1) Root and install a custom ROM. You'll find information here (I'm assuming this is the Verizon Droid Incredible 2 - don't use anything from there if it's a different model!). I don't know how much of that stuff is still available, or how good any of those ROMs are. The phone will still be more limited than a bottom of the line budget model today though, and the newest version there is still many years old.

2) Buy another phone. Which would be my advice.

Accessories Cases

Ditto here, finally got my order to go thru, should be here in a couple days and this is the clear case I went with for a few reasons, like you I wanted to showcase the Aura Glow, Spigen is a brand I've used many times on many phones and they always hold up very well, and it also has a kickstand for watching video's movies, etc.... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SSW6DB2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Now I have to decide on a screen protector, wanting something glass rather than flexible or liquid.
I got a Spigen clear and like the quality. Wish they could do something about fingerprints, though.....

Can't mute notifications

If you can tell what app you are using perhaps someone else also uses it and can further help you with the settings. I understand about those annoying notifications and use different apps for different notifications for that very reason. I've found that my 3rd party alarm clock works best for my specific notifications as I can have loud and silent alarms with it while for regular reminders I use a tasks app or calendar app. I don't know if any of that rambling helps at all.
