Can't delete zero byte files

If you search December 31, 1969 (or1969-12-31) there's a whole bunch of stuff on that date. Seems to have something to do with Unix. It's really odd since there is so much information on it.

Also, if you can't delete or rename it, can you change the date?
31 December 1969 was the UNIX Epoch, aka launch. That's why it is the default date and time on a UNIX/Linux-based OS. Similar is the IBM date of 1 January 1980 on the IBM PC 5150, being its launch.

WHY?!?

I loved those too. I'm an even bigger fan of '60s TV. I got the entire series of M*A*S*H on DVD, and loved Happy Days, but Mork and Mindy was such a huge downgrade compared to the Mork character starring in episodes of Happy Days--it wasn't the same fun. It was kinda, well, bland.

I love Laverne and Shirley (especially the Lenny and Squiggy segments), along with the Odd Couple, Green Acres (reminds me of the people around here!), as well as The Andy Griffith Show, Bewitched, the Munsters, Lassie (if you can even get that one--unobtainium both on physical as well as digital, this being the '50s series, not the movies) and many more. Since in the early 80's Nickelodeon had very little of their own content they often ran reruns of 50s and 60s shows when they had open time slots (later putting it into their Nick@Nite evening block), I was exposed far more to that era in TV than the 'modern' 80s era at the time, and the only exposure to 80's television were the Saturday morning cartoons like He-Man, Voltron, The Wuzzles and others.

I have always been fond of old things too, and being around my great grandparents a lot as a child made me more enamoured by the 1950s-60s style of culture, tech and life in general. That's why I'm like I am, and resistant to any form of 'future' I don't feel I belong in. I was probably the last generation that was taught how to take things apart, repair them and read schematics as I was growing up. Back then, at least until the mid-80s that was considered a vital childhood skill, and a benefit later in life.

Personally, I'd rather spend my off time re-aligning the IF transformers and tuners in my AM radios and enjoy the warmer sound of them over dealing with buffering, compression and other disadvantages of just pulling songs up on your phone. Radio is free, subscriptions to multiple services are not. Around here, there's plenty of great classic music stations on AM. Radio doesn't need internet, nor app updates, or accounts much less data gathering.

Honor phone locked

What's probably happening is this:

Facebook is logged in on this phone, but not the laptop/computer the person is using (maybe they bought a new laptop?) person goes to 'forget password' on the PC. 2FA sends a text code to the phone, but the phone in question is locked behind a PIN that nobody remembers, or a SIM lock from inserting the wrong SIM into it.

This sort of is why I can't login to Facebook anymore (not that I consider it a huge loss) but because the phone number in question that was setup on my FB account no longer exists, and it tries to send a 2FA code to that number. I never set up 2FA on my FB account anyway, and it got forced on me. I just wanted to login to see a group that's otherwise hidden and view posts there, but oh well. No biggie.

If the phone is SIM locked, good luck getting any carrier to give that code to you. I was always treated with hostility by carriers for merely asking them for the PUK code or Subsidy unlock code, like I were trying to hack their system or something. The phone might also be locked because it's no longer supported by the network, aka no VoLTE capability and the SIM got hotlined.

Who Installs Android onto non-Android devices?

By that argument I could easily fool someone to believe a heavily customized Linux is Windows, or that a heavily customized Android build is iOS, but people aren't yet that stupid.
Actually, Chromium/Chrome OS did "fool" me into thinking that it was Android. More to the point: It's a simple matter of practicality. I won't count something as an Android device, unless the user can use Android on it. On both the Echo smart speaker and the Nook Simple Touch: The Android is under-the-hood, and inaccessible to the user.

Anyone went from an s6 to a53?

More like anti-privacy policy. We're constantly EULA-roofied and suddenly everyone thinks anyone who prefers to have privacy is some tinfoil hat wearing nut. Being concerned about data collection ain't a conspiracy theory. It's a legit concern and one everyone should be angry about. Why we allow corporations to walk all over us just turns my stomach. This is the very thing Richard Stallman warned us about back in the '90s

Help Company name missing in the phone recent list, how to display company name ?

Thank you for your answers. So I see, there is no other option than adding the company within the contact name to have the company being displayed in the call logs. It is incredible, no option to display company in call log exist: it is an essential feature for anyone using his phone for some business (which certainly represent more than 50% of Android users !)

Are there any way to automate the addition of the company name inside the contact name ?
I have hundreds of business contacts that I now need to have the company named added to their name.

Flashed TWRP, but can't boot into TWRP recovery.

Can I separate my phone numbers on my android from my gmail account?

To arrange the ones you already have - tap the avatar on a contact, (you may have to click edit) tap the 3 dot menu and select 'move to another account', click the one you want to move it to. This can be done from anywhere.
To save a new contact - if you're in contacts or the dialer there is s drop-down at the top with your accounts, pick the account to add it to. If you're in Gmail it will add to the account you already in.
The phone app does pull all contacts with phone numbers regardless of where they're saved but Gmail only pulls/uses contacts saved to that account.

switching to Verizon, is that a mistake?

I moved to an area where my Verizon's iffy. ATT is the carrier of choice in my new area. I have another line on my phone with a local ATT phone number, keeping the old Verizon number on another esim. ATT downloads and reception are remarkable, here. Verizon is unremarkable. I am currently running a T-Mobile trial. It is very unremarkable here.

I knew ATT was the service here, because I tried Cricket. I needed ATT over Cricket because I do virtual work and if the cable goes out? I'm dead in the water, so ATT is unlimited without a cap. I need that.

App or Service for broadcasting GPS location

Google Maps and Life360 both will. I found Life360 to work better with iPhones in the mix but Maps works really well too (location sharing). 360 has a free plan that may be perfectly adequate and it will actually follow you around, maps updates every minute or so. 360 has a lot of permissions and sharing going on, Maps does too but it's Google so you probably are already granting them all of that.

Grand X Max + OFFICIAL LOLLIPOP UPDATE FROM ZTE!!!!!!!

But can't you just load another camera app to replace the stock version?
And can a third-party camera app be loaded at the system level when the phone is in a temporary rooted state?
Can the phone be rooted again with third party software after the update is complete? -- I think I have read of a couple terminal apps that put your phone into a rooted state allowing read and write privileges to the phone which I assume would allow access at the system level.
just an fyi that member posted that in 2016. i doubt you will get a response. not familiar with your phone, but there really was not much in terms of a dev community for your phone. all i saw over at xda was how to root the phone. probably, but you would need a cracked version or pirated version of the app. the phone is rooted but not the app.

and looks like the only thing i can find uses kingo root to root the phone:

but why do you want to root this phone? it is so old now.
