Touching issues with ROG Phone 5

And I don't mind if it's inside as long as it doesn't casue problems.
Well since you are having problems there is a matter of determining just what's causing them. It might be the syrup or something else. If so, keep in mind that smartphones are not designed to work with foreign substances added to their interiors. Stuff that may or may not have conductive properties 'could' be an issue depending on what they're in contact with. Also, all it takes is a small drop of a fluid to make an impact so whether it was actually just 1 ml or 20, even just a minuscule amount will get spread out over a wider amount. Space tolerances inside our phones are very tight and compacted, so basic capillary forces will make a difference.

Can I partition on an external SD card for Android 10 and use it for different purposes?

Are you prepared to root the phone? If so then there may be options, though I've not used them myself for best part of a decade so have no experience of them in Android 10. They won't involve using the system menus to format one partition as internal, but rather add-on apps or scripts to move some of your apps and/or their data to the partition and set up pointers to them in the internal storage (so that the phone knows where to find them).

Without root the answer is simple: no, you can't. The phone software only expects there to be one partition on the card and won't look for a second one. All that will happen if you partition the card is that the phone will only see the first partition, so effectively you will have reduced the capacity of the card. To tell the phone to mount and use the second partition you will need to modify the system software, which means you will need root.

Apps Is it necessary to show "Location Access" Prompt every time requesting for the location?

I'm not a developer so I can't really help you with how to implement this, but you shouldn't need to ask for the permission every time it is required. When I open a new app which needs access to my location, my phone (running Android 12) provides me with a few options for how the access should be granted.

Only selecting the "Only this time" option will cause me to be prompted again; otherwise, the app is able to automatically access my location the next time it needs to without having to ask me again.

Help Nexus 10 - Auto Power Off Issue

Thanks again, puppykickr,

That's pretty much what I did. I found the identical part number (SP3496A8H) on Amazon. Chose a UK based company called "KingSener" and ordered the battery, via Amazon. I had watched a YouTube video several times to check out the procedure and followed it precisely. And then back to my first post for what happened next. I'll try emailing KingSener to see if they can help. Thanks again.

Amazon and Ring apps not loading properly on wifi

You did reboot the router, correct?
Yes, numerous times

I narrowed it down at this point being the amazon and ring app on an a android operating system not like something on my wireless network
My final test was connecting to the free wifi provided by my isp and the apps worked fine

Not sure what setting on the router for my network setup might be causing this because all other apps and devices work as intended

Possible Water Damage To Phone

If the earpiece got wet, which often acts as a speaker as well, and the phone has no designed-in water resistance it could be that the water damaged the earpiece membrane. That would have been worst while the membrane was actually wet (it would be softer), but could have left a lasting effect after drying - especially if you used it at high volume when wet (early water-resistant handsets would limit the volume when they detected water exposure to reduce the risk of damage to the speakers).

From what you describe that's my best guess anyway - obviously impossible to know for sure from here.

SIMPLE MOBILE IS A SCAM

Your screenshot also shows fast speed tests of 51Mbps, 25Mbps (up), and 14Mbps.

Three possibilities:
You are sometimes in an area with poor reception, which means slower speeds.
You're on an overloaded tower, leading to slower speeds.
You went over your monthly data limit and are throttled to 2G speeds.

If you're not over your data limit and often have slow speeds, only look at carriers that use AT&T or Verizon depending on which is best for your city. :thumbsupdroid:

Displaying over other apps --- blocking

Apologies for the errors. I am getting tired.

On the phone I have a few, little used apps, which seem relevant now, such as App Permissions. Nowhere do I see anyting that seems relate to 'drawing over other Apps, or 'blocking Play Store'. I still have the App which some years ago I managed to identify as the culprit ,,,,it was MultiClip, which I still consider to be worth keeping. I see nothing to suggest it is now the cause of the problem.

Did you delete them in the Google Photos app? That has a trash can.

Empty your trash
If you see a request to "Delete permanently" when you try to move an item to trash, your trash is full. Your trash can hold 1.5GB.

To empty it:
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app.
  2. Sign in to your Google Account.

The Aviation Thread

Resurrecting this thread to note that I will soon be flying to Europe. I’m vaxxed and only a little concerned, since I’ll mask up for the flights as well.

On a personal note, I’m excited to fly on the 787 Dreamliner (one direction United, the other Lufthansa). That it has excellent air filtration is another bonus. ;)

To get to the Dreamliner, the first hop is to ORD on United as well, and a friend (who is a UAL captain) has bid on the flight. I’m really hoping he gets it, I haven’t seen him in such a long while and I’ve never flown with him. Of course in these post-Bin Laden days there wouldn’t be any cockpit visit or anything like that anyway, but it would still be pretty cool. ;)
